Otter
I've recently noticed that videos I watch on VLC are considerably less sharp than when I watch them in another player, like Quicktime or (blech) Winamp. This makes no difference if I'm using DirectX or Direct3D output, or f*ck with the post processing settings. Anyone else notice this before, using VLC? I just thought the videos I've been watching have been low quality. but it turns out it's been the f*cking player the whole time. While I try mPlayer, please, share your optimal viewing scenarios. Otter
Yup; that's what I'm talking about. It came up after I shot some HD footage this week - I was previewing it in VLC and I thought it was out of bloody focus! There must be something under the hood that can be set properly, no? Svip, any ideas?
Edwards
That's just weird... have you tried messing around with the deinterlace setting? sysnode.org
bp2018
Honestly? VLC looks sharper in that screenshot for me, look at the cup and the rocks on the house, considerably more detail and less motion blur, of course I havnt seen the two in motion in real time, so it could be different. Check the post processing effects and deinterlacing, play with them and see if it improves it at all. Infact look at the garage door on the house, you can notice ridges and detail in VLC, media player is just a blurry mess.
