badguy
Ok so I just have a simple question. What does you graphics card temperature reach on idle? My gpu which is a 9500gt is normally at 45 degrees/113 Fahrenheit in 30-35 degree/86-95 Fahrenheit weather. Recently we (Australia) have been going through a heatwave. Today's weather was 40 degrees/104 Fahrenheit. I left my pc on and went to the beach, came back home checked my gpu temp and it was at 65 degrees/149 Fahrenheit on idle. Is this bad? And tomorrows weather is going to be 47 degrees/ 116.6 Fahrenheit Edited February 7, 2009 by badguy
javi13
I would be more worried about my CPU temp if it's 47 degrees.
GTA3Freak-2001
Yeah 65 is fine, its when it hits 100 that things are getting too hot for most cards. My 8800GT idles at about 60 in this weather, and on load about 80. I know too well the definition of heatwave, I am in Adelaide!
kakarot_9
It would be best to buy a casecooler or something to keep it cooler, not sure if those temperatures are good.

TwwIX
If those are "idle" temps, then yes. I'd also be worried about your CPU overheating. Don't you guys have air conditioning over there?
diboze
that temperture is not that high for a graphicscard. As said most cards idle at that temperature you mentioned. My card idles at 60 C and on load reaches more than 70 C ... and we dont have heatwaves here

Don't you guys have air conditioning over there? Idle temps were high. Its because the weather exceeded 40 degrees. And yes we have air conditioners over here. This is not a 3rd world country. Just no one was home and all air cons were off but I forgot my pc on. Also to anyone else how can I check my cpu temps? I have an intel cpu what software/program can I use to check cpu temps. I've heard about riva tuner but I wont be able to use that cause it to much of a headache trying to set it so it gets accurate temps. Is this any software/program by intel that I can use? pinky
RealTemp or Coretemp are your best options. I prefer Coretemp as it displays the temps on my G15's display too.
badguy
Here are my temps. I have a q8200 with a gigabyte ep45-ds3l motherboard. Its 12.30am right now. Outside is roughly 27-29 degrees and inside my room is about 30-32 degrees. Are these temps high for gpu and cpu.
