Creed Bratton
Statham is totally badass. Although some people think they are too intelligent to watch these kind of movies, so they only watch those "artistic" ones. And "artistic" movies are pretty much those that bore you to death. Well f*ck them, it's all entertainment and I'll let Statham entertain me with his mindless movies before I get bored to death by movies like Revolutionary Road and others... Slamman
Gotta go out and rent the first one. I only found out that 'Crank' existed last week, when a friend told me about it. And now the sequel is almost here...time to get to the video store! Well, Jimmy, you and I see at odds, lately, but I'll tell ya, I am amused because I bought it used and it just sat and sat. I watched it a day ago, and the public sex scene was so amusing because on line, the Japanese public affection clips you find, no one around the couple is watching them! I had to laugh This film has moments where the crazy action results in no major police action as a result, when he wipes out off the police bike, People are acting disturbed but relatively calm, and no one is yelling at him or offering their assistance (We see someone do this in the back ground, however)... I could see New Yorkers being oblivious, as long as has been the case in real life, but LA?, California? Is it true there as well? The final fall to the car and bouncing instantly to the street a good distance closer, well, that's totally un-real. Forget the jump they cut out of Stallone's Cliffhanger (Renny Harlin's film) or that Stallone survived without gloves and a coat!!! (o)(o)!! There's not much reality to suspend disbelief onto! Captain Picard
looks alright. nothing to write home about. why is it that all action movies today have to include a stereotypical young black man of some sort, driving around in a dropped chevy, talking in a generic west coast accent and wearing a vest of some description? Who gives a sh*t? The point of the film is mindless fun, of course it's unrealistic! In a way it kinda takes the piss out of action films. Kinda like Shoot 'em Up. You don't watch Crank because you want a documentary, you watch it for mindless fun. Is it me, or have we been through this?
Wuirt
Looks interesting. I found the prequel to be quite entertaining, although it doesn't really hold up to much repeat viewing in my books, which from my observations seems to be pretty standard with your modern day action flicks. I suppose it's one of those films where you've just got to take it for what it is, a bit of fun. Edited February 14, 2009 by Wuirt
Slamman
I don't want JR coming back to life because "it was all a dream", Ottae. Sorry, but I like a bit of reality with my action, it's just a thing I shoot for. Other wise, it's Sci-Fi Shoot Em Up was only marginally good in spots, I was not too impressed. I love Amy Smart so I'll watch it.
papanesta
Bumped for more Crank 2 discussion. I saw it yesterday, it was awesome fun, but the ending is gash. I'd say more, but I have to go to work.
Blackadder.
Bleh, missed this topic, was simply looking for the title 'Crank.' So far it's got one 3/5 review from Total Film. Link gives a couple of scenes away. When was a Crank 3 announced? Edited April 17, 2009 by Blackadder.
SIKKS66
Seen the Crank 2 trailer on TV too many bloody times. But it does look pretty awesome. Anyone notice the Linkin Park singer? He's one of the people he rubs against for static electricity lol. The way the trailer is presented reminds me of that video that came with GTA2. Maybe it's just me... tuareg
Jason Satham is THE badass of all time. This movie's going to be sexcellent.
Pico
This is the biggest pile of sh*t I have ever seen. The director went waaaaay over board with the quick, fast paced scenes. The dialogue was ridiculous and even nonsensical at times. The action was okay, much better action in plenty of other movies. And the effects where he's, I'm assuming, tripping from the electricity overload (which makes no sense to me) was just plain f*cking stupid. The Godzilla like fight scene made me want to rip my balls off and eat them. And then rape my face. I guess they wanted it to be funny but such comedy has no place in an action film. Not having seen the first one I can say I didn't know what to expect. But all I know is I'll never give the first one a chance in hell. I never post in this section, this is probably like the third time. But this movie was so incredibly sh*tty I had to come express my disgust. SaintJimmy
Goddamnit Pico. I was actually going to go see this movie soon. Now I've gotta make a decision on what ELSE to watch.
Groovy
Pico pretty much complained about what made the movie f*ckING AWESOME. It's supposed to be over the top and redonk. I've already seen it twice, and it's such an enjoyable movie.
Girish
Saw this yesterday. I'm glad I wasted only one dollar on it (morning shows, FTW!!). The first movie was awesome; this is just waaay too much and I don't mean it in a good way. As Pico said, the director just zoomed through the action sequences and they got boring and repetitive very fast. Then there was the same old sex part, only this time he does it on a horse racing track. Oh, very original indeed. Also, the part where 'f*ck you chelios' splashed on the screen for almost a minute made me go absolutely mad. Alright, I get it, f*ck you chelios, I f*cking get the point, okay. Now, can we move on? Girish
Can no one have f*cking fun anymore? Jesus christ. How did you find any of that funny? I know it's supposed to be a no-brainer, but seriously, it's neither funny nor as entertaining as the first one. Mark Neveldine completely went overboard with this one.
