udedenkz
I am currently poking around GTAIV for useless files and thing for possible performance boost. Ok, just wandering if anyone knows what preload.list is. What exactly is preloading shaders? If I delete it for example, game does not run. So it is an important file... If I delete certain parts of it, game might run. For Example, needed to launch/run, gta_rmptfx_gpurender.fx gta_im.fx gta_atmoscatt_clouds.fx gta_emissive.fx needed to play. gta_parallax.fx gta_parallax_specmap.fx gta_parallax_steep.fx gta_wire.fx gta_trees.fx gta_radar.fx Runs Without These, waterTex.fx water.fx gta_parallax_steep.fx gta_rmptfx_raindrops.fx gta_grass.fx gta_vehicle_basic.fx ... just curious. I also found a buch of files that are useless in the game dir (useless with xliveless), anyone want the complete list? Deleting a certain file will give you a plain (no Social Club Updates sh*t) black menu with options, it is pretty neat.
emcax24
um all the files installed with the game ARE NEEDED, theres no such thing as Unneeded files. if they werent needed they wouldnt have been on the disc or installed. you effectively just broke your game and will need to reinstall. also i dont see how that would improve performance. you obviously dont know the principles behind computing. all deleting files will do is free up hard drive space. nothing else. except break your game. Yes, deleting all the GFWL files break the game. Not with Xliveless, it don't. I haven't broken anything. Single Player Works Fine And Dandy - No Drunk Camera - No Nothing Bad. After deleting some Photoshop Files, my photoshop runs fast. After deleting some windows files, windows runs faster (nlite is good for that). It is called, backup, delete, check, confirm - nothing get messed up. Btw, if you can't answer my question: Get The F*ck Out of My Thread.
