Poll: When will the next GTA be released?

i would expect it to be the first half of 2010 and the trailers in late 2009, i hope its vice city who knows what it is i cant wait man but i'm going to half too

GTA 5 will come out for next gen consoles I think. They are probably going to release full games based off the IV engine like VC or SA which I am not complaining about because they are still full games. I am really hoping for a new vamped, and larger VC. That would be so sweet with IV's graphics. They should also incorporate the large scale of SA in them too if they can handle it. Planes, flamethrowers, and miniguns anyone?

There is no way there would be a new GTA released this year.

Who thinks R* can possibly make a game in less then a year and release it on the PS3 and Xbox 360?! They would move the date to the following year if they did! The people that voted 2009 must be children!

So what you are saying is that you would want GTA 5... the next gen version of GTA in Vice City with better everything... but GTA IV graphics?! You want Grand Theft Auto IV Vice City then. GTA 5 won't come out in probably more than a few years... maybe near a decade... especially since Microsoft and Sony don't have any word on a new next gen console.

Well, we've got The Lost and Damned out the door, Chinatown Wars coming out in less than two weeks, and the second DLC promised by the end of this year. If I were highly optimistic, I'd say that the next GTA would come in fall 2010. Rockstar already has the most time-consuming parts of development (optimizing RAGE and Euphoria) worked out, so all they have to do now is create a new setting, new characters, and a new storyline, which they're probably planning as we speak. However, being more realistic, I'd expect to see the next game come out sometime in the spring of 2011, with the first trailer debuting in the summer of 2010. I'd be surprised if it takes them until 2012 or later to finish the next game.
