GTA_XP
No chance to run the game, sorry But you could try it by yourself. Get alteast E6570 or E8400.

IMO, it's a waste of money if you plan on gaming. For not much more, you can get a C2D system, even the low-end ones have 2MB cache on them. johnjp
Ok thanks. That's what I thought. What about Pentium Dual Core E2200 or Athlon X2 5000+? Thanks. In the Phils., Core 2 Duo is much hyped and I can buy 2 PDC E2200s over one cheapest Core 2 Duo.

emcax24
i have a e2140 its the same as your processor with 2x the cache 512k per core vs 256k per core. just about every processor in a family is the same with the exception of certain things unlocked. in you case the e6700 they suggested you buy is the same as your processor except its clocked higher and has a different set of multipliers unlocked and has 4x the cache. that being said you could just overclock your processor which should easily hit 3ghz on stock volts and cooling. it will be about as fast as a e6300 on stock speeds. mine is as fast as a e6700 on stock speed if you account for the cache. cache is the ram area built into the processor. more cache helps process instructions faster, but processing instructions faster with lower cache evens it out. thats been AMD's strategy for years. intel makes processors that are faster, AMD makes processors that are slower but work harder. same principle here. any rate. i dont recommend upgrading your computer just to play this game its not worth it because it wont really make that much of a difference. this game is just a bad port job and the code is not very stable. you can buy a new processor if you like and you just want a new upgrade. but if you know how to clock or are on a budget i wouldnt go breaking the bank on a quad core like some of the less tech savvy people on here would tell you. every game out right now can run just fine on a modest dual core and 2gigs of ram and a midrange video card with at least shader model 3. buy whatever you can afford, the e5200/5300 and e7200 are good choices for bang vs buck. if you want a quad just get the q6600 if you can find it, it has 2mb cache per core vs the new replacement q8200? i think which has like 6mb cache 1.5mb per core. or it might only have 3mb cache 768k per core. for the same price i would go with the older q6600 with 8mb cache. *edit* i just checked. the q8200 has 4mb and the q6600 has 8mb they are both about the same price $165 or so. get the one with more cache. I'll second the E7200, it's inexpensive, it runs cool (45nm) and overclocks very easily to over 3ghz. Got one running on my wife's machine and it's nice. anus
You should be able to run the game on that processor as long as you overclock it. The cache won't hinder performance all that much, but if you can afford to, get a better processor. Can you give us a budget and where you live? I can look for a good one for you .
