I've been patiently waiting for a while now, hope it's mostly done and developed for PS4 with an amazing story line etc...GTA is envelop pushing in so many ways but RDR will ALWAYS be my favourite.

I've never experienced this before, I hope a remaster or a port releases on PS4 because I'm planning on getting it.

I'd be soooo happy if it were released THIS year! couldn't care less about the content of the story, what characters will be involved, whether they go back or forth in time and what not, I know it will be satisfying to me considering it's a R* game. just gimme, RED DEAD SOMETHING!

bought that 1-year-ps+-membership thing in january and so far I might have been online for 72 hours or so in total...if at all....now if the next Red Dead would drop in say, october or something, I'd still get something out of that ps+ sh*t and I could spend the remaining months online all day.

*fingers crossed for a release in the last quarter of 2016*

are you serious?

if they went by what you're saying, - that is, 'couldnt care less about the content of the story, what characters will be involved', etc - the game will be all style, no substance - a.k.a. just another game in this day and age - a.k.a. just sh*t.

rockstar should take their time to get this right. why dont you play a title from another developer. theres more in the gaming world than rockstar. this game will then be waiting for you when the time comes, in its proper glory.

yes I am serious, I have no doubt the story will be satisfying to me. I don't care if they bring back old characters or just introduce new ones, either way I will like them and and digg what they say and do!

as I said, it's a R* game and they take their time so it is of R* quality. I'd simply be happy to play this year due to my ps+ stuff...if I get to play the game in 2018 that's fine too, just more happier with a release at the end of this year is all I'm saying.

edit: also I am 30 years old, have played enough games to know that I don't need to buy and play sh*t just because R* and Remedy don't shell out games every year.

It's like watching movies, just because so many get made doesn't mean I have to sit through all that sh*t, while I'm waiting for my favorit directors and actors to produce something really memorable.

Think the point was missed here.

He pretty much said "It's a new Red Dead, you don't need to tell me anything, i'm already sold. It'd be really great if it released this year."

It would, but it won't. I just want to know for sure it's en route.

Wouldn't be surprised if R* made an announcement for it some time this year. Or some other game they've been working on. R* North is updating GTA Online right now, but RDR was made by R* San Diego so it's very much a possiblity that a new one has been in development for some time now.

I'm curious how much of Rockstar's resources are spent focusing on GTA Online, I'm sure that have a few unannounced project's being worked on plus Agent (If it ever comes out), I know they have around 7 active studios, but would a new game being released in 2016 and 2017 be too optimistic at this point?

I think it'd be fair, tbh. But I still feel that GTAO is their focus. Perhaps it's just North working on that.

If R*SD are working on RDR, then I hope they're alone. I've seen some games pull in multiple studios, and the result was unfocused. I'd rather one team work on it than six across the world.

Whatever the next rdr brings, I hope for a few things.

1)Another stellar protagonist. Marston was great.

2)To play as a true outlaw. I want to be the bad guy gunslinger. I want to be immoral. I wanna play as that style of legend the old west is known for. Perhaps even a truly flexible good/bad moral system?

3)A huge world. One thing I get from reading westerns and seeing the films is how large the worlds are. Traveling from one county to another should be a huge task, and should take a couple of in-game days imo. That sense of scale (with appropriate fast travel options) would make or break the game in my eyes.

4)A little more immersion in terms of interaction - being able to hunt a bit more freely, to go fishing, to swim!, to rob people and banks stagecoaches and trains at will, Being able to just sit on a bench and take in the scenery (RDR remains one of the best looking games I've played - relatively speaking, of course).

5)Focus on singleplayer. This was GTA V's downfall. SP was pretty much pushed aside, especially in DLC terms. I would hate for a RDR game to follow suit and bring in "RDO". I'd happily take a SP-only game, if it meant we'd get the best possible single player experience.

Oh, and a less linear ending would be nice ;)

I agree with your points. I'm especially curious how beautiful of an open world Rockstar can make with a game that's made EXCLUSIVELY for current gen consoles. I want at least 100-150 hours worth of things to do in single player. A true outlaw would make some of the options in side missions more believable, I could never seriously believe that the John Marston of the story would rob a church lady if the Strange man gave him the option or walk away and let a cannibal eat an innocent person, it just didn't fit in to his character to give us those options.

I wish they just wake up to see that not everything is cool, like too much attention towards online part of the game, GTA was always about single player, ALWAYS, not the other way around, now that the damage is done, the only way to fix this, is to make big enough single player DLC, this is the only way, i just hope they wake up from this slumber as soon as possible, but back on topic, i always wanted to play games such as RDR series on PC but developer never gave us a chance to play it, now im hoping they change their mind and make a new one also on PC, one can hope.

Fast travel? If it didn't have it, then it would take like 48 minutes in real life to reach the next city. A game with flying cars would be a bit too new for the Old West. Ah, trains are there but it was boring in RD Redemption. Cars would make the game more GTA-like. Well, it's Rockstar, guess they will find something interesting, if traveling takes a long time.

The map in Red Dead actually always felt bigger for me than the map in V, because you didn't have air vehicles. There was also more reason to move around the map as there was no particular place you mostly wanted to spend time in(like LS in V). I really appreciated the sense of scale and as long as fast travel is still an option, I don't think it'll cause any problems. And tbh I wouldn't mind being able to drive one of those crappy old timey cars you saw near the end of Red Dead Redemption.

Seems too good to be true. I was thinking they'd release a new Rockstar Table Tennis later this year.

I never understood where this "Irish and Seth" as the 2 characters came from, why would they either be the same characters from RDR or have the same names as them? Neither 1 of them had protagonist material.

If the rumours are true I might not even get the game. Didn't like Seth at all, definitely not protag material. Irish was okay, but meh.

A random guy on Twitter is the source, and these so called 'journalists' are not questioning it? Morons. This literally could be a guy trolling. Who is this Twitter guy? Where did he get the info from?

This smells very fishy to me. I ain't gonna buy a game that's rehashing another. If its true, I'll pass. I doubt it's true.

Though I believe the multiplayer part of it; rdr online in vein of gta makes sense.

Seth and Irish would be ridiculous protagonists, there's no way R* would do that. Now one character that I could maybe see returning as a protag would be Landon Ricketts considering he was a famous gunslinger. Though I'm not sure if he was too much of a good guy, wouldn't make sense to kill civilians and the like. Then again it didn't really make sense for John Marston either.

He's a good guy in redemption but not necessarily when he was younger....

Backwards makes more sense considering Redemption was set during the near-end of the wild west era.

This nonsense was already posted sometime last year if i remember correctly. "Seth and Irish as playable characters". Damn... people are not even trying anymore. Anyway... I think there's a good chance that we'll get an announcement this year and a release in 2017.
