I think the gap will be bigger. The gap between the GTAs has been steadily growing. I'd expect development of the next Red Dead to follow the trend. Though, with that added time I expect them to craft a better game. It'll be interesting to see if they can smooth out what feels like blocky dialog on replays. The first time I thought everything was great, but on repeat viewing some of John's monologuing feels kinda forced.

On an unrelated note I want John to make an appearance in the GTA V DLC. I don't care if aliens abducted his zombie bones or if you happen to have a cutscene/drug trip in an "Old West" museum. I just want him there damn it.

There's only one obvious franchise for Rockstar to come back in 2016, Bully! I expect Bully 2 to be their next game, it's kinda like Red Dead. Red Dead Revolver didn't get much attention until Red Dead Redemption came out, Red Dead Redemption was a masterpiece and made Red Dead one of the biggest franchises for Rockstar. The same can happen with Bully now, Bully is way too underrated, it's one of Rockstars funniest and most original game to date, with Bully 2 this franchise could finally become recognized by gamers the way it should be, as an amazing franchise with a lot of fun and a very original playground ... the schoolyard. Let's see what their next game is ... the announcement will be this year, that's inevitable.

Yeah can you imagine online in Bully 2 where 30 people are pupils? You can go to class or just free roam the map and do activities etc. I believe that the next Bully is coming just by looking at GTA Online (this may sound weird) for example the small things like the rides being updated so you actually walk up to them and board instead of a cutscene. Why would they put all that effort into 2 rides which not many people use unless you are needing the animations etc for another game?

The first trailer of Red Dead Redemption ... just incredible!

From the first time I saw this game I knew it was something very special. The best game ever made last generation and for me the best game to date.

I only wish R* give us a remastered version for PS4 before the new game, i must play this again. The scene you arrive at the border with that "far away" music on background was one of the most outstanding moments i ever had on a game.

No more remasters please, no more remasters ... we have enough of them already! I hate this remasters stuff, it makes games a lot less special because the same gets released over and over again. Red Dead Redemption is one reason why I still keep my old PlayStation 3, so that I can enjoy this game even in five years or so, so you don't need a remaster. NO REMASTERS! Focus on the next Red Dead instead, don't you think that's a better idea?

Maybe a remaster only for PC ?

Would be cool

I have nothing against a remaster for PC only I have to admit. To know that one of the greatest games of all time was never on PC makes me sad because I know a lot of people who don't know about Red Dead Redemption in first place and a lot of gamers who haven't played it because it's a console only game. I keep telling them that they miss out on the best game to date and I keep telling them that for this game alone you have to get a PS3 or Xbox 360.

Can't wait for Red Dead 3. I hope they bring back Bill Elm & Woody Jackson.

Given Woody Jackson also helped compose the score for GTA V, I'd say that's a safe bet!

He did? Any idea which tracks?

Also, I can't remember - but does Red Dead Redemption have a surround sound option? And does the game actually take advantage of it/use it well?

"Hillbilly Crank Dealer's Blues"

"Impotent Rage/Am I Being Clear Now?"

"Mr. Trevor Phillips"

"A Haze Of Patriotic Fervor"

"A Bit Of An Awkward Situation"

"Fresh Meat"

"Minor Turbulence"

And the songs from the Paleto score and the mission Crystal Maze (they're not featured on the OST.)

Basically he did Trevor's songs.

I know this because in the games music files, the songs are labeled by their specific composers.

He definitely has to return for Red Dead 3, he is a brilliant composer, along with Bill Elm.

haha.....those days when it was still "somewhat possible" to hope for a PC release. I remember them very well, it were those days when I almost waved R* goodbye forever. to be honest I haven't heard much about the Red Dead franchise before, and the fact that I've bought and played the game on day 1 is more than coincidental. fate maybe...it was the time when I realized in order to fully enjoy everything the gaming world has to offer, one needs both a console and a PC. and money was short...well, decisions decisions.

Back then I was just sittin on my "gaming" PC, no TV or nothing, just the monitor. but then, in 2010, when I saw HEAVY RAIN I felt like I had to get a PS3 just for that game. I had this scheeme to just buy/get everything I need and later re-sell it. so I bought a PS3 console on ebay and used a TV that was standing in a hallway in a friend's house. no HD no nothing on that thing, not even a remote. anyhow...I bought Heavy Rain and put many many hours into it, playing on some sh*tty resolution with weak colors and bad contrast, without HD so it kinda looked like a PS2 game with a little polish in graphics

moving on 3 months later, somehow Red Dead Redemption caught my attention, and when I first saw material I fell directly in love with it. GTA in the old west? Even if it had been "just" that I would have enjoyed it a lot I guess, but it was much more than GTA in the old west. I couldn't really enjoy the graphics, sh*tty old school tv, but I've beat the game twice or 3 times before I sold the console and those two games on ebay again.

I needed the cash back, and at that time I was really thinking R* would make a PC release happen later in the future. GTA IV was ported to PC, L.A. Noire was ported to PC aswell. Those articles saying there would be no PC port for RDR, due to time and bandwidth and because Red Dead has always been a console game only franchise, when I stumbled upon those I was mad as hell. only when R* delivered with Max Payne 3 a few years later I was able to make peace with their decision to leave RDR be, a consoles only game (for now). the cycle kind of repeated, when I bought a PS3 again just to play GTA V (back then I didn't see the next-gen remastered GTA V coming) anyhow, with it I bought RDR again, the GOTY edition, and had a reunion of the special kind. because now I had a bigger screen supporting HD to play on, I had blast beating the game another 2 or 3 times. now I have the PS4 (bla bla FU SONY) and I traded in everything I had, the PS3 and 5 games including RDR. and again, I am left with nothing. decisions decisions...

I bought the PS4 bundled with GTA V only because I had the next Red Dead title in mind to be honest. yes I wanted to play GTA V on day 1 (and not 1.5 years or so later), but I had this vision of how awesome the next RD title could be, that's why I bought the PS4. I'm not sure whether there'll ever be a PC port of any RD title. seems like SONY would call R* and basically beg them to keep it to consoles. so people like me and others who enthusiastically play games and appreciate the art would buy a console they don't really "need", and if so only for a handful of games. (still worth it though)

*sigh*

I would give my left nut right now for an unexpected trailer for the new Red Dead title posted on the newswire.

For as much effort as R* put into V's score, they did such a poor job with releasing it. It's quite annoying.

They did a much better job with RDR's OST release.

That's a f*cking headshot if I see one.

They shove the game full of great dynamic soundtracks, and they only officially release 20 or so, because f*ck it. Thankfully, there are youtubers taking their sweet time ripping all the soundtracks from the game.

Such happy memories with the online portion of this game. Me and my friends just used to f*ck around and come up with new stuff to do. A PC version would have been awesome with all the mod potential. Always saddened by how the train wasn't Online, that could have been fixed.

If you ask me RDR>GTA V>GTA IV. Might be my favorite game ever after Shadow Of The Colossus.

Red Dead online was so damn good. No unnecessary bullsh*t like buying your own apartment, weapons, ammo etc in GTAO, just get straight into gameplay.

Yeah RDR's Multiplayer was the perfect balance between GTA IV's MP, and GTAO. Unlocking stuff as you level up, the way bounties and being wanted worked, if you found a weapon before unlocking it you could keep it, a few in-session gamemodes, side activities through the journal etc.

Yeah that's the only thing about GTA Online. There is no going back! Too much money and time has been put into it.

All I wished for was a Cops n Crooks mode with weapons that you can pick up. Ohh and better car handling (ie more GTA IV-esque). Good ole' competitive multiplayer is gone from GTA forever. EVERYONE is a potential threat.

Maybe I asked too much...

It had no shark cards either which is why it had balanced progression. And the gunplay in that game is much much better than the one in GTA Online. PVP modes were more fun to play.

There were originally horses in GTA V but were taken out pre release, watch the Pisswasser advert on YouTube. Are you trying to tell me no one in California rides horses nowadays? Not in the farmlands or at Martins HORSE RANCH?

Maybe the driving the cars in Red Dead was a bad example even if it was for a mission or two. Oh alright then, let's say hunting and skinning of animals (the "and" bits important). Also RDRs Ecosystems are a lot more diverse than Vs.

It was, but not so much for those reasons for me. I personally loved the survival element, because it actually made sense in the environment. I also really liked the fact they stripped only very little that was in story mode from the multiplayer experience.

On the topic of remasters, I reckon there won't be any. I think and hope we'll get an announcement for the next Red Dead either in late 2015 or early 2016.

I'm pretty sure that just game footage from Red Dead used in addition to GTA V game footage.

By the way, does anyone know if RDR multiplayer has been cleaned up yet? Last time I played, everything was messed up with half dead guys that gave you infinite XP, long load screens and invisible players.

I've recently read a lot of comments that go with the latest A&A from Rockstar where they said that we should stay tuned for announcements on what's next from Rockstar Games in 2015. It seems like that there's two games/franchises mentioned all the time. One is Red Dead and the other is Bully. I figured that there's a lot of gamers who want Red Dead 3 to be Rockstars next game ... but a Bully sequel is mentioned non less. A lot are asking for Bully 2 because another Bully is way overdue in my opinion. Bully (Canis Canem Edit) was released way back in 2006 for the first time. Of course Rockstar released an updated version with better graphics, new missions and new classes to attend for the PC, Wii and Xbox 360 in form of the Scholarship Edition a year later but that was it. This year we are celebrating Bully's 9th anniversary and I think Rockstar kept us waiting a long time now for a sequel to their most original game to date (at least in my opinion). Rockstar must shed some light on Bully 2 this year and I think it's likely to become their next game, to be released sometime in 2016 for Bully's 10th anniversary. The community is clearly wanting Bully 2 (I've had a poll running here http://gtaforums.com/topic/743046-bully-2-or-red-dead-3/between Red Dead 3 and Bully 2, Bully 2 is almost as much wanted as Red Dead 3, that clearly means something ... I mean let's not forget that Bully isn't the game that sold over 15 million copies as Red Dead Redemption did ... and still people recognize it as a superb game and concept that has the potential to be another Rockstar hit! With the power of PS4, Xbox One and the PC of course Rockstar can pull off great things with Bully 2 and this can become as popular as the Red Dead franchise, they just need to give us Bully 2.

I hope that Bully 2 will be announced sometime this year with a release in 2016 ... after Bully 2 it's time for Red Dead 3, but I really think Rockstar has to give us Bully 2 first. I'd want to ask you ... would you prefer Bully 2 over Red Dead 3 or don't you care for a sequel to the great Bully at all?

Edit: just read the comments from this article ... so much love for a Bully 2 (I love it) http://www.designntrend.com/articles/31773/20141219/red-dead-redemption-2-bully-2-2015-rockstar-games-teases-announcement-next-year.htm

Imagine all the stuff Rockstar could do with Bully 2, remember your school times ... omg this could be so awesome, they could implement all their social media stuff they've already introduced in GTAV to a fair bit and expand on that, the mobile phone, accessable internet, building friendships, going out partying at night after a hard school day, let us sit in class actually and follow what the teacher is saying or let us simply not listen and browse in the internet on the mobile phone instead, let's have scheduled exams where we can look left, right or wherever if we don't know the answer, maybe our friend knows who's sitting next to me? let's join a sports team like football, basketball, soccer, swimming, etc. let's have spring, summer, autumn, winter again with seasonal things like christmas, halloween, easter, etc. let's have days off at the weekends or during holidays like in winter. let's meet with school colleagues there and do go in town, play games with them, go to bars, etc. etc.

I could write on forever but I leave it to Rockstar, they sure make Bully 2 the best it can be, I have faith in them.

No train online tho :/ Train gang shootouts would have been awesome. Though I figure there could have been some noticeable lag with players on board it as is with the train in GTA Online.

Yeah, all you had to do in GTA was hold 2 buttons and let the automatic weapons shred people in a second. I really do miss the little battle we had when there's two players shooting and rolling continuously until one gets a headshot

Another Bully game would NEVER EVER sell as much as a Red Dead title. Personally, I can't find much enjoyment in playing a kid at school, even if he was like "grown" now, age 19 or 20 or whatever, I don't like the scenario, it's not gritty enough, there's not enough drama. in general I don't play games like Bully, it's not adult enough to me. If R* were to "waste" 2 or 3 years on another BUlly game I'd be very sad, as I almost exclusively buy R* and Remedy games, a couple of games inbetween but mostly that's it. Bully has never been part of my collection though and I'm not looking forward to that franchise. It doesn't really exist to me. And I've been to school for quite some time, I know what it's like so I don't need a game to have me go through all that again. Haven't been in the old west though, never been riding a horse, never had to a rescue a woman by shooting the rope that she was being hung from etc. get my drift? Bully has 0 appeal to me, and it shouldn't appeal to any of the adult gamers neither if you ask me. It IS fact though that many young people have consoles and they often buy any game just to stack up on their games collection...

The whole world wants another Red Dead, a couple of people/kids would like Bully to continue. Not developing Red Dead first (at least) would be "stupid" financially speaking, I guess.
