Okay, I'm getting this tomorrow. But the more I get near getting it, the more I feel that I'd be let down; probably due to the lack of vehicles.

 

But I guess I'll be wrong as most people say that this is better than IV, even SA.

 

So what makes people say that? Hype me up people! Tomorrow is my RDR day!

 

 

 

Also, any tips on using a controller? This is my first ever console game(Xbox360).

Don't worry, you'll love it. Its better than GTA IV imo. As for the controller, its easy enough to use. You'll get the hang of it after playing once or twice. icon14.gif

It's a thrilling ride, from the humble cattle ranchers to the Mexican revolution, with a cast of characters of ranchers cowboys, outlaws and wannabes, marshals and sherrifs to corrupt politicians and rebolutionaries, innocent and naive town folk and heartless bandits

 

The game world is more loong and breathing than anything gta has ever offered. Picturesque sunrises and harmonic sunsets, riviting thunderstorms and tiring high sun, the sprawling world is huge and alive with critters from ducks and rabbits to grizzly bears and cougars.

Side quests are plenty and there's a lot to be discovered and unlocked, outfits perks treasures

You'll fight the world and its hostility but also bandits outlaws and the law

 

This game will eat your free time so earn your loved ones that you may disappear for a few days!

 

You're in for an epic adventure

Well Mokrie Dela put it perfectly, couldn't have said it better myself. But it was fresh because I've never experienced that before in a game. I loved it so much because i love the whole feeling of the old west, cowboys, gun slingers ECT, and i dont like cars, i wish people still rode around on horses smile.gif

 

PS: YOU CAN PRESS A BUTTON NEXT TO AN NPC TO GREET THEM biggrin.gif

 

That game has got me saying "Howdy miss" in real life haha. *tips hat*

 

Edit: and dont worry about no cars, its actually a breath of fresh air. Their animations are amazing, and I like to get the white horses so I can see there muscles move better.

It's not that hard, you will get used to it, play on auto-aim for the first 10 missions or so, switch to semi-auto when you slightly get used to the controls, and then switch to free-aim for a little extra challange when you master the controls, Good luck and have fun. smile.gif

Yes, it's really, really big, and for some reason, it felt bigger than Skyrim for me, but it's actually smaller, but not by much, it's big.

yeah its pretty big, but the fact your only transport is a horse makes it seem bigger though. I'm not telling you any more, just play the game and you'll see, you won't be disappointed wink.gif

you can also travel by train, and stagecoach (works like IV's taxis) or by "teleporting" once you've made a campfire whereever you like.

 

 

As for the aiming thing - start with auto aim on or off, the game's pace gives you chance to get into it.

 

But one advice would be: Hunt. You start in "mcfarlanes ranch" after the opening chapter, and then just head south east to the huge plain and shoots some wild birds, horses and deer (careful not to shoot owned horses - the ones with saddles). Sell them at the general store and buy "Snake oil" or "moonshine" or "chewing tobacco" - these iirc fill your DEADEYE meter up, and dead eye is going to be a life saver. Also once you unlock them, some outfits allow quicker regeneration of deadeye (bullet time).

 

Don't feel you have to rush through the story - take some time out and get used to the controls. Hunting is fun imo (i can't stop doing it), it gets you money and as said, will get you used to the controls

 

Also mess about with settings - change the sensitivity and inverting, as well as auto aim. I suggest starting with the middle option (normal is it?) and stepping up to "expert" (no aa) when you're ready or if you want to (remember auto aim is a gamer's choice, not a mandatory instruction!)

 

But chill, man, you'll get the game and if you immerse yourself in it you'll be buying 10 gallon hats and dusters at your local mall! (i got obsessed when this game came out).

 

I will suggest one thing though; save frequently. The countryside is a dangerous place, full of bandits and animals and there's a chance you'll stumble across a pack of wolves or cougars - if this happens to newcomers, they might take you!
