I'm sure this has been said many, many times, but I really wish there was some way to play as John after completion.

Mainly because of this

user posted image

Plus I was so into the story that I missed all the free-roam opportunities with John, all the witty remarks etc, and I don't want to start a new game. It would be like completing Vice City and then playing as Ken Rosenberg at the end.

Jack?!? JACK!?? Yeah, he's mean to his horse, but he seems nice to the folks he meets

hahaha

I will say this, There perhaps did need to be a new set of challenges for the final parts of the game, much like the DLC was able to add, both MP and SP elements, I think this should still be a model Rockstar put some focus on, there's no reason there shouldn't be, other then their workload, really

jacks mean if he's a bad guy.

I think Jack could have been a huge badass - his dad's dead and he's pissed I think a DLC should have been released with about 20/25 missions, with him as a bad guy, but thats just me. probably wouldnt have fit with "redemption"

Jack is a bitter son in a way, but as mentioned, YES, get the Undead Nightmare disc, if you love the game, you're shooting yourself in the foot avoiding it!

All the MP content and the massive SP that it added, My hats still off to Rockstar for their DLC excellence on this one. I think they may have something here, to quote HERBERT MOON!

Anyway, in Undead Nightmare there's more family moments you'd miss out on if you skip that chapter in RDR

I really liked Jack after playing as him for a while. I felt connected to him since he was born 1895 and I was born in 1995, 100 years on.

Plus he seems to be an actual bad guy for once, because it makes sense to play him like that.

yet he declines hookers cos his ma would disagree (I always felt he was harsh to his mother and very sarcastic to his father - which would normally result in a spanking or something) despite being able to tie them up. I wish there was some post story DLC, a few missions and plent of side missions unique to a bad-guy jack.

I wonder if his voice actor had changed, since it took me a long time to get to the end, I savored the gameplay, in all honesty. Having seen the credits role, I still have tasks to do, but there's no missions really, all the Stranger stuff is completed. I also took my time with GTA Episodes, though I played GTA IV's main game over again several times, both DLC for GTA IV I've yet to complete, so, laugh all you want I guess, it keeps the GTA gaming a bit fresh if you can take that much time playing it! It's also why DLC is a worthy addition to gaming

I think it'd be awesome for a prequel, get to play as John and ride in a gang with Bill, Dutch, Javier, and Abigail.

Get to play as John when he was just a kid and stumbled into Dutch, then he took him in.

It'd be pretty cool, imo.

That it would. Be a true bad guy. In a gang. TLAD but with horses?

I don't know if this is out-of-topic but does anyone know where to find Pastilence in RDR: Undead Nightmare?

the jackalope is a small thing - if you see a creature that from a distance might be a rabbit, or something, shoot it - i shot what i thought was a rabbit and it was the jackalope. It's a tiny thing with antlers or something...

GTAboyWonder I find War north of McFarlanes ranch where the rail tracks split and you have what i call "cougar hill" - Pestilance tall trees is your best bet, i found it west/northwest of Manzanita post.

Famine i believe is often found in Mexico - thought locations varied for me.

Death is a wait and see one. Could be ANYWHERE. Same with the unicorn i think, thought i found that in mexico - far east of the map, south of the cliffs that lead to the rail bridge to the US.

It's not in the same spot every time, but I posted in PM a couple places I remember from memory, the three main sections in Mexico, West, East and central, I recall South of Blackwater or in the Plains location, up in Tall Trees, but again, I had to go back to the original RDR because John speaking in "Zombie" gets old fast, it's somewhat funny, but I like conversing with the NPC, for whatever reason, It's part of the attraction Rockstar instills in their games with the AI, you feel like you can really create something small scale, being able to make stories happen in the game world.

I agree that going back earlier is a neat idea, John and life inside Dutch's gang. Hopefully they look into some themes and stories to do that way! A different section of the map, or perhaps as DLC in the same map locale?

Even though I have completed the game 100%, I can say I have never seen the jackalope. I ran over one while riding a horse! lol.gif

I found it in the South West end of Mexico, near the cliffs as I remember, some long time ago

I fund the jackalope on the road to tumbleweed on the south side.

I've also got one on the road from Armadillo to McF's ranch, west of Warthington (sp?) ranch

Might be less predictable then the other animals as far as anywhere on the map it could show up?

I think there are particular areas, but the animal has to keep moving, and try and escape your clutches, I didn't find it too hard, or too long a venture.

I have that level 10 sharpshooter challenge, disarm six enemies...any tips? I didn't do so well headshotting the undead either, it's tricky

It's like when you have to clear a hideout with only melee, grab the cart in the gold mine and it switches you to gun, regardless of the intent of the challenge!??! I hated that!

Just enter dead-eye in close range with a shotgun and blast their hands.

Anyway, I've started RDR again and I'm planning on connecting the Undead storyline with the Redemption story.

I think the appropriate moment to start the Undead story would be just before the final mission, but I could be wrong.

I go with the Henry Repeater into Thieve's Landing, go into deadeye and just start shooting hands. Most people will draw on you making it fairly easy.

I wouldn't - shotguns have too much spread.

I did it with the cattleman revolver (the weakest revolver). Go to deadeye and aim for the guns.

i believe it also counts in duels.

A scoped rifle will help from moderate range due to the zoom.

I did it with a revolver in the saloon in Thieve's Landing.

I miss RDR a lot. It's been ages since the last time I played it properly, and a half hour sesh last week really has made me want to go back.

Mister Pink

Was playing RDR last night. I get bored online really quickly unless there's a good battle going on between gangs. One trying to enter, the other defending. Especially at the fort in Mexico with the canons. Or.. playing Co-Op.

Actually, I want to play co-op tonight.

If anyone is up for it. I'll be online mostly from 22:30 GMT

I can't get on mine because the Net is blocking 'unknown devices', and I'm not the owner of the Broadband (not leaching! haha) Sadly, was hoping to update and check my Live messages on the 'Box

Anyway, I'm playing it just about every day but in SP mode. I haven't had the urge to go back to Undead just yet, except with all this recent discussion and see how my stats are there. I did complete the missions to become a zombie I think you can gather from my previous posts, but it proved pretty challenging there at Escalera

I've unlocked the Bureau uniform, NICE! What all can I get away with? Any crimes?

I felt you need to be close range to see to disarm, It can get hectic getting cover or Dead Eye to work as it's supposed to, the game is flawed, that's the reality, but there are some VERY talented gamers who play, I can tell!

The Leaderboard shows just how much time SOME people have on their hands! hahaha

I think there's some cheating going on there

Anywho

For starting up Undead Nightmare, as soon as you kill Dutch, it's just family-matters time, so you can go off with Undead at that point

It took longer than I expected to get old, but yeah... once you discover the technique behind obtaining stuff, it gets boring.

What are you saying? Gang Hideouts get boring? Riding around the old west map gets boring?? I can see it on occasion, but not if you're really fond of the game.

There's enough variety in it to get a lot of mileage out of your initial payment purchase price, I was at the pawn shop checking their games, they have RDR standard for both PS3 and Xbox, the Xbox version is $20 bucks, the PS3 version is $16 and $20 on the two copies they had. Still not all that bad when you think of that being the cost of the DLC as a whole, on DVD ROM

Yep. You can get away with any crime. Obviously, if you draw on and start firing at someone, they will fire back out of self defense, but you will never gain a bounty or have law enforcement follow you.
