I've been playing just about ALL the stored profiles I have, trying to get all the locked regions open and the main story done, it's a good test as well, to see if I hit on a better technique, shooting from moving vehicles is always a toughie!

Anywho, the most annoying thing about RDR is the Spanish in the game, subtitles are NOT TRANSLATED. Anyone find someone who went to the trouble? Be it YouTube or transcript online?? I'd love to know.

As far as the eating at a campfire, that was Undead Nightmare version, I don't recall any eating in the plain jane game.

Tried cheating once, in poker/RDR, I was challenged to a dual and the card game ended before it began (as I recall), I always play poker straight, it's not impossible, just go with the best high cards, if nothing shared helps out, fold

I played this game for the first time some weeks ago and I also managed to beat it. I thought it was a quite good game which had many similarities to the GTA franchise. It would be nice if they made a sequel one day.

The best thing about the game was probably the action around the old west. There were plenty of good shooting missions for example and the developers really succeeded with the cover system. The game also had good controlls and a nice soundtrack. It's not the first time I enjoyed playing an old west game. I also thought Gun was an entertaining game some years ago.

Its Blackjack I am good at. Its very easy to learn.

It seems to take an eternity to play though, I lost interest after two attempts, Cards you can just bet a few hands if you get lucky, and clear the opponents!

Anyway, I was playing the game again last night, and I'm about to again in a few minutes. This game will literally NEVER GET OLD! hahaha

Blackjack never really ends. Whatever amount of chips you leave the game with is detrimental to the amount of money you earn. If you just play to unlock a part of whichever certain outfit it is, all you need to do is win one hand without being in the hole more than you were when you started. Any profit counts.

Also, Slamman, it sounds like your cheating skills suck. Cheat once when you first get the hand and start dealing. Than you can switch out the card with something in your hand when it gets to the screen that lets you see your cards. Try to cheat any between then and you will get caught.

I didn't bother to cheat, rather go for "luck of the draw", Not sure what all needs be met to get 100% complete, as you mentioned the Bureau Uniform is unlocked at 100%, then getting the $5000 bounty to redeem I imagine? Wouldn't that mean less then 100% complete beforehand?

As for the games, I'm best at Liars Dice. It's hard to understand at first, but once you get the hang of it, the game is quite easy and after a while, you'll soon be winning without losing any die.

There are certain ways to expose the opposing players. One thing is that they'll never declare you spot on, which is always an advantage. At least, that's never happened to me. Also, in the early stages, don't go in too high and let them play each other. Then, it gets easier. You'll have more of the die, so you have a better idea over who's bluffing. If you have a lot of a certain number, and go in high knowing you're safe, they won't think outside of the box and they'll call your bluff.

I once spent 2 hours winning Liar's Dice games. tounge.gif

For me, it was the favorited game, but I divide my time playing Dice and Poker, never Blackjack, it's just TOO time consuming to win at I feel

I initially frowned on their inclusion, since I don't play cards, but it's done in such a fun way, all the other poker games for PC or console take a back seat to RDR!! It's highly impressive I think

Liar's Dice trick is that the NPCs can't call a roll as being on the money, or exact, only as bluff or one higher, etc.

EASY to scam them there, or one-up them

As for learning it though, the thing I missed is turning the dice face so I could bid a different die!

As stated, about the NPC single player game, The amount of people doesn't seem to go beyond two, which is a shame, since in MP, you can play six REAL players, MAN whatta lotta fun! I really love it, the more people, the more fun Liar's Dice is to play, in the SP realm, one guy usually makes horrible inaccurate bluffs, while another is rather crafty

Thanks for the help, everyone.

I actually enjoy Poker, and I've mad quite a profit of it. I'm a genius at Liar's Dice, I earned $1000 just from Liar's Dice winnings, and no, not with the Lights, Camera, Action! Stranger task mission (which got me another 1000, by the way) were every time you win you get $600.

Thanks again.

I really struggle with poker without cheating. with the extra card I wipe the floor but without it I can never get anything other than a high card.

The whole using a pardon letter for a $5000+ dollar bounty thing is just needed for an achievement/trophy. The only things that are required for 100% is mastering all ambient challenges, unlocking all outfits, buying every weapon, buying every safehouse, completing every main story and stranger missions, complete all of the gang hideouts, and complete a certain number of bounties for each region (8 for New Austin, 8 for whatever the Mexico region is called, and 4 for West Elizabeth). I'm thinking breaking the 3 stallions might be part of it as well. All of that really covers the majority of the game though. You'll end up doing most of this stuff just unlocking the outfits anyway.

The old shack you buy up for the Water and Honesty Stranger task, it's available as a Safe/savehouse, and I never even knew that until last night! WOW

Bucking Awesome Achievement, Austin Overpowered, etc. Yeah. Of course, can't comment on the PS3 end, but the plan was to buy Undead Nightmare for my PS3, but I never did that, I still need a workable solution since that console is acting strange, the BD never worked, the HDD was upgraded to 100GB, but my downloaded trials all seem to freeze, which didn't happen before.

Game of the Year would be a worthy purchase to cover RDR on PS3, I'd get it just for the additional hideout!

I didn't kill him, but one time he just froze instead of walking off the property. The guy who is trying to buy the land, his accent is one of the best in the entire game!

The Pleasance House? Named in honor of Donald Pleasance I suppose (RIP)

Killed Bill Willamson, Allende, and Javier Escuella and now I'm in West Elizabeth. cool.gif

Also got the American Standardbred and need to finish a stranger task mission to get my Savvy Merchant Outfit.

Loving this, even though Blackwater is quite big judging from other settlements around the RDR map, for some reason I feel as if its missing a few things, and it could be a bit bigger.

I enjoy the sound/foley of the cobblestone streets of Blackwater. I'm finally moving ahead with the game, I felt it's been enough catching up on all my various saved games. I do have a problem getting the high stakes poker initiated, changing clothes once your back on your ranch and getting the military scrap from Blackwater.

On one of my saves I have the demon horse from Undead in the regular game and Marston insults everybody, anyone know what caused that? I can't rightly recall

Musta been trying for that $5000 bounty then? Could be. I really have more saved games then one person needs, but it comes with buying so many consoles (HDD included!)

i wish they had that ability from the off - like in SA where you could reply positively/negatively. I love the insults he says, but get annoyed by that damned horse....

Agreed, I feel it's just annoying if it's all one-sided. Anywayz, I got to the part where Marston is outnumbered and meets his fate. I feel like anything you're trying to do with his character is jeopardized when you switch. I do feel they will throw more curves into their stories like this, where you will switch characters from cut scene to cut scene! haha

theres something discerning and disheartening about playing with the knowledge of his fate. Maybe even Futile. It'd be like driving your favourite car for the last time ever... sad perhaps?

I don't mind spoilers after some time has passed, if I own the game and am playing the same...

Someone spilled the beans about Roman Bellic's death on these boards very early on, yet we still discovered the optional story paths. Each deviation requires more lines of dialog recorded alone, that's why it took nearly 5 years to build RDRed.

Disconcerting is the word you wanted, BTW

Single player is incredible. It's incredible how detrimental the loss of the lasso, safe cracking, cinematic executions, and NPC population can be to the game's multiplayer. I just lured a Mexican Army posse to the smokehouse in El Matadero, tied them all up, robbed the bank, and put a knife in to every one of their backs after cutting them free. I tried a similar shootout in multiplayer. Everything was missing, including all the fun.

No bother, sometimes I'm even too lazy to help someone get their typos edited up proper.

I completed the game where the credits role tonight, Took me long enough I suppose, it seemed like not much required to complete it either, not like GTA 4's major chase.

One of RDR's faults could be it's long drawn out cutscenes and small control sequences like at the very beginning of the game, but no matter, it's all handled expertly I'd say

The thing to note about the credits is Rockstar North, San Diego, Lincoln and New England IIRC, all listed in there, doing some work on the game, even Lazlow Jones helped out!!

If we put two and three together, it's safe to assume some sharing of game progress from these studios is what's billed as Rockstar Games (Presents) now

I also found the Gentleman's Suit/Attire, I believe, needed to wear to play high stakes poker, which I won, once every other player lost and it was me and.....HIM! haha

YES, by all means get the Undead disc, if you can, it has all the DLC released, 4 pack installments as I recall. The MP had it's own fun, but the SP has to differ to offer enough of a different experience, I was doing MP while gaming partners would switch from MP to SP, never knew what missions they were on, but XBL would tell you what area of the map they were playing in

All very interesting, really

RDR & UN are a bit like GTA4 and Gay TOny.

THat is to say, Undead Nightmare is very good value compared to most DLC that other game publishers put out.

At first I thought it was a bit grim and you have to like the zombie genre a little bit at least. but the story is good and there's a few good side-challenges.

I just got 100% on UN the other day. Zed's dead, baby. wink.gif

Is the Undead Redemption available on a seperate disc - like the DLCs for GTA - or is the original game required?
