Just beat the game. MEH.

Nah, seriously, a good game. My socks aren't rocked, but its a solid title.

I was wondering what your opinion would be Don. I know you've been looking forward to it for ages like me. I think the ending was just cheap thrills designed to shock.

I don't even think it's a solid title, and I've got no lust to go thru all the errand missions again, or to free roam as jack and get 100% or all the achievements.

Would have been a lot better if there were alternate endings depending on what you did in the game. Looking back it's just a linear trudge thru missions that felt like side quests, which is what some of them should have been.

Oh well. I'll put it on the shelf and get it out and play it again some other time.

You know what's worse than repetitive dialogue? People firing shots when you're doing the $25 Five Finger Fillet. f*ckers. mad.gif

Does anybody know when they will email the 400 MS points to the UK accounts that downloaded the RDR trailer?

Damn Joe, I thought I was being the harsh one in here. But I know you were more excited for this than me, so I understand. It just wasn't that amazing to be honest. Dare I say, I enjoyed IV more as far as Rstar titles go, and IV let me down. So whatever, you know. It occupied my time well enough.

Time for it to collect dust now, heh.

You're both guilty of hyping yourself up to ridiculous extents. Good job.

Nah dude. I had no expectations. I've never played a western game before. I had no idea what I was in store for, so this game hit me as it would've hit me, personal hype or not.

So what, you licked the box because it tasted good...? Oh wait, you were just being a willy.

You're both insidious bastards. This game rules times 10 to the nth degree. Don't blame the game because you're a wet blanket.

Bugs aside it's a fantastic open world. Probably the best ever. As a video game it has too many issues that would require too many spoiler tags to debate it.

As a video game GTA 4 was better, much better.

I have a 100% save which I can roam about in before I do some MP.

I do the story again because it's really good.

...and the people who wrote it were at home with the subject (more or less)

I'm not saying RDR had a bad story or was a great open world to mess around in - far from it - just that it's not the sort of game I'd like to play over and over, or have a 100% save where I can roam around in.

So to me, that means it's broken as a sandboxer and a story driven game.

I could list a few simple things that would have made it a classic in my opinion, but what's the point? R* went for the cheap shocker. MEH!

Feels super lonely after you've finished the story sad.gif

And then you discover multiplayer! So lively. Wee.

I'm still loving this game after completing the story, just going for 100% completion and getting a few trophies, going out hunting for bears and sniping them then getting too close and get mullered wow.gif got quite a few things to do before I get 100%, currently at 75%.

I'm not dissapointed in this game at all because I knew not to overhype it, I learnt my lesson with GTA IV and luckily haven't really had any bad glitches, just one bad one once in a mission cutscene when the gound never loaded up.

Also (spoiler warning) once I get max fame and trophy for it, i'll wear the bandana all the time because jack looks better like that then it's just his voice but I can live with that, I've become accustomed to him now.

This goes for everyone saying the game isn't one of the greatest they've played in ages. Aside from some of the glitches that pop up every once in the while; there's nothing game-breaking (for me at least). I only have one issue about the game, and that's Multiplayer Free Roam. You can't get drunk with friends or play any mini-games like Single Player - it'd add a lot more fun to the game for me.

Though the story isn't something I necessarily relate to, as it's not often my outlaw gang leaves me for dead, I can still get into it and have a TON of fun playing it. After beating it yesterday, yeah, the ending was a wee bit disappointing, and it feels sort of lonely once the game is over with but there's still a lot to do until you reach 100%, and even more to do afterwards. If you're sick of SP, play some f*cking MP because it's one of the greatest experiences you can have with some friends on a console.

tl;dr - The game is great, f*ck all y'all.

Just finished the game 100% this morning, and went straight to Multiplayer. I don't know how much longer I will play Singleplayer. One of the things I liked about GTA, is that in both Multiplayer and Singleplayer there was tiny little things you could do with a bit of an imagination that could last you hours. I've had similar experiences on Multiplayer, so hopefully RDR also has that lasting factor.

I've got just 5 more achievements for online and then I'll have the full 1000G. I think it's because I just finished College, but damn, this game is like crack! The bugs in this game are damn annoying though, those minuscule problems just irate. Reminds me of the older GTA games.

After finishing the story yesterday I don't have much interest in continuing to play. Especially not as jack. I'm not a fan of the multiplayer either; the auto-aim ruins the whole thing for me. I completed all of the challenges I had any interest in doing before finishing the story. I can't really complain, I got 20 hours out of this game, which is far more than I usually get from a single game, Fallout 3 excluded.

I finished the main story last night and thought it was great.

I've seen a few negative comments toward the ending, but I felt it fitted well. Also sometimes I feel in GTA your character suddenly becomes divorced from the world once the story's over, because usually the previous relationships and activities disappear. At least here we're kind of starting fresh and making up our own new story with Jack. I do miss the rancher outfit though as I had grown to like that during the last part of the game.

I had tried very hard to stay away from spoilers and no-one specifically gave it away to me, but I long ago guessed that John is killed and Jack takes over as the protagonist from the way people spoke around spoilers and general comments about the ending. It didn't ruin it, but I think I need to completely remove myself from the online world if I want to experience a story without any expectations.

Avatar awards: is the red t-shirt the same one as is now available to buy from the xbox marketplace? I liked the fact that I thought you had to play the game for these items, so I'm a little disappointed. Also I heard there were 5 avatar awards, I think one will appear when enough people have done Pike's Basin challenge, then there's the 2 T-shirts and the hat, but what's the 5th one?

Lastly, I've experienced very few glitches during this whole game. I'm not sure if that makes me unusual or if it's just that the people with the glitches talk about them more than those that don't. However something happened in one of the final missions that I think was a glitch, but would like someone else to confirm it for me. What happened is as follows...

John is in the barn and tells Abigail and Jack to leave so he can deal with their attackers. Abigail rides off, but Jack appears to be hiding in the shadows of the barn to the right of the door and is not on the horse with his mother. John turns and now completely has his back to Jack [at this point I'm expecting him to say "I know you're there, son"]. John thinks about the situation looks out through the cracks [while Jack still appears to be watching and scared], then John steps out of the barn and is gunned down.

CUT TO: Jack & Abi on the horse. They hear the shooting stop and decide to go check on John.

So now I'm thnking that Jack was never in the barn and I just had some dodgy NPC not do what it was supposed to in the scene. However Jack later says to Edgar Ross something like "I saw you kill him". Can someone just confirm what happened in their version for me?

"Oh I can't wait for the game it's going to be so awesome" - "Meh, wasn't all that great" bullsh*t. tounge.gif

You gentlemen were probably playing this game like a full-time job the past week... sorry that you've had to rush rush rush, got somewhere to be? lol.gif Everything has made perfect sense to me so far. Including knowing how and when to do missions. Simple things to think about before doing missions... what time is it? Do I go see Marhsall at 11pm? No. Do I go see Seth at 2am? Yes. Do the missions in appropriate order (listen to character dialogue) all is strung together good. This doesn't mean hit one main story mission after the other... you think this "story" was meant to be completed in 10 hours? lawl

I didn't go over to Mexico until a month of in-game time. Seems only right that I don't hit it up in one afternoon, dumb sh*t that would be. The song is still totally sick, John climbing this steep hill into uncharted land. Although the land over there kinda sucks and it's hell getting around in my opinion.

Still not in Blackwater yet... I think my game is going to have trouble locating Mo Van Bar, law is only posting ? marks. jeez <_<

Carpetdweller: That's weird, because as I recall, Jack and Abigail were in the barn with me, and John told them to leave. I had a glitchy cutscene once, where a chick existed in two forms.. sort of like a clone, so those do happen.

That is quite true Carpetdweller in gta once the story is finished there is nothing much else to do but at least here you can make your on story with Jack. And yea the last few missions with Jack,Abi and Uncle were good and during them missions the Ranch was full with activity like u could see Abi cooking and jack reading books but once the story finished there is no-one left in the Ranch except Jack.
