I was surprised I got about 18 or 19 percent, considering I love just going everywhere and looking, and testing, but to offer some more insights, the PS3 and Xbox difference Rockstar mentioned with GTA4 was mainly a difference of palette, but I imagine there is some scaling issue as well.

 

The Cell should be better then the 360 core I think. Anyway, the good news is the Xbox does graphics better then GTA4, much less fill in, but trees and brush are always difficult ones!

 

Then there is a flaw I find for the gun aiming, you should veer your reticule off to the left of the object you are trying to shoot, not exactly on top of it. I did this numerous times before I am confident it will work better.

Do you guys think I'll just be able to walk into a game shop/supermarket tomorrow evening and pick a copy up? Or will it be like IV or MW2 where you won't be able to get your hands on a copy for days/weeks if you aren't at a midnight release?

Got mine through the post today f*cking amazing game, just with the amount of things you can do apart from missions. I've only done maybe a handful of storyline missions, but I started playing at 1pm, done maybe 5 missions and spent the last 4 hours exploring/killing animals and sh*t like that. Got kicked off though since my mum wanted to watch TV and I'm not carting the 360 upstairs again. Really excited to play some more though. Oh also, Has anyone noticed the higher you bet in horseshoes the better the guy is at playing? I mean I ringed one when I bet $1 the next game I bet $10 and got my ass kicked since he got about 3 ringed. Noticed maybe a handful of slight glitches as well, but nothing to make you want to stop playing.

Yeah, it warns you at the start of every game I think that the more you bet, the more difficult it will be.

 

I pretty much suck at all the mini-games. Blackjack is the only thing I can get down with. As for the story, I'm taking my sweet time as I know its gonna be short. So I'm doing Stranger jobs, collecting plants, hunting wolves/cougars, getting attacked by said wolves/cougars, and buying sh*t. I haven't even done a main story mission that involves shooting, but I've bought all the guns available. The double-barrel shotty is my buddy.

I suck at poker, haven't found blackjack yet but when I do I'm sure as hell going to make my money from that since I know how to actually play it.

It's more powerful in some aspects, processor mainly. So that doesn't help with the resolution.

Well, I'm not a fanboy neither an expert but it's hard to understand why we cannot get the same resolution. We have blue ray ffs.

Overall it sounds like progress in videogames is being pushed backwards cause of the limitations of the XBOX and that sucks.

Just because you guys have blu ray built in, doesn't really mean sh*t about the resolution. And I presume that they kept it at a lower resolution for you guys is because if they made it bigger, they'd probably have to remake the entire game to fit PS3, which I'm guessing would take a sh*t long time.

I believe the only thing that is not weaker in Xbox 360 compared to PS3 is the GPU, so maybe that's it?

Anyone got it on PS3? I've heard the ps3 version looks awful, has low frame rates, lod pop-in issues etc.? Bit worried as its the version I'm getting

 

Oh and I believe the street date has been broken at some stores in Australia!!!

Think about it.

PS3 has blueray technology which allows for a much bigger game/movies.

The disc can hold more data, more so then the 360.

I owned both consoles and IMO PS3 is much, much better.

And I like both, no fanboyism from me.

not saying the 360 is better or anything, but what you're saying really doesn't make any sense at all. the ps3 and 360 are made for different kinds of users. the ps3 has an in-built bluray player, which is awesome when you have a big full hd tv and you're watching bluray movies. in many cases, xbox 360 games look a little better or play a little smoother than the ps3 version, just because it's difficult to use all of the power the ps3 has to offer, when it would probably be capable of beating the 360 performance wise, if it would be programmed right.

 

saying "console x or y is much much better" is just stupid, each of them can be the perfect console for certain types of users.

do you think, because of the blu ray drive, your ps3 is suddenly able to have a higher performance? seriously, what on earth does the game resolution have to do with blu ray? does your pc magically become more powerful when you buy a 1 terrabyte hard drive?
