I discovered this in my days as a young lad, cheating my way through Vice City. Then I tried to play it without cheat, and found it interestingly challenging. Never have I used cheats in a GTA game since (that is, on a proper playthrough)

My whole cheats career lasted about 2hrs in 2008 when I'd finished the story in GTA IV, can't see the point in them, unless you're doing some machinima and you need to spawn something.

i never cheat in a mission though, only freeroam like in bogt i used the parachute and car spawn cheats alot

I've not used cheats on any GTA but I must admit I am using a map to do the pigeons on IV because I restarted the game just over half way through and I'd got about 160 of them and buggered if I can be bothered to find them all again lol

Car spawn cheats take a ton of the fun of finding cool cars out of the game. I rarely use cheats but if I do it's way after I finish the game.

Probably. Horses aren't cars to explode if you shoot them, but put enough bullets in them and they die, just like everything else.

 

I wonder how will the player - horse bond work. I heard someone mention that.

The horse can die, but as soon as you press the up button on the direction pad. You summon your horse again. It runs from a short distance to your position. Im not sure if there is a delay for when the horse can be summoned. It would make more sense if your horse got shot and died, you had to wait a few minutes until you can summon it again.

Not to mention the old Box art. He said that Australia had a different box.

I'm not to sure about this, but did't all the old games by R* share the same Box art in every region? I couldn't find anything about a Australian Box art for IV.

Its a fact that cheats are there for fun. Though IMO should not be messed with till all fun is exhausted with a game to keep it fresh.

 

What I would like to see, is a cheat mode for free roam.

 

Just for the simple reason of having a laugh. Spawning certain modes of transport. Physics tweaks etc.

 

Achievements have ruined games to ever have cheats these days. And simple things really add value to games, like the parachute glitch from BOGT. It made the DLC worth buying now its fixed its pointless playing it anymore other than for the vehicles, once all the missions are over.

 

Anyway not that I think RDR will get boring, but it would be a nice change to have a piss about after. Cheats when activated should just prevent saving thats all. And have a dedicated option for it in free roam.

I take it you've not heard of PhilipDeFranco (sxephil) or the channel he started "LikeTotallyAwesome" ?

They got an early copy of Mass Effect 2 to review, the same with Alan Wake. Also they went out to EA in Toronto just last week to play Skate 3 and Earlier this week they went to the Lost Planet 2 launch party.

It was started by one YouTuber and now it is hosted by two other YouTubers alternating daily...

 

So Yeah, game companies do send games out to YouTubers, but yeah - I highly doubt that the dude reviewing is being legit.
