IV is a piece of art.

What was so artistic bout GTA4? Boring story that I had absolutely no interest in, the caricature character models, the sluggish Niko walk and his idiotic accent (I should know I speak Serbian), boring radio stations, boring peds that couldn't compare to those in San Andreas, people calling you every 10 minutes to go out, boring tollbooths, boring hand to hand combat system, ugly clothing, small amount of weapons? Or maybe it was the graphics? Let's not fool ourselves, Rockstar failed with GTA4. I didn't play those expansions yet, but I guess they can't possibly be as bad as GTA4. And just so you know, I'm comparing GTA4 with previous GTA games.

They took all the things that made GTA fun and put their "realism" bullsh*t instead. Some realism where you can blind-fire with a rocket launcher from cover.

Failed?! Mate that is so wrong its not funny, GTAIV was not perfect and was a different direction for the series but you can't say it failed as a game. I am not saying it deserved a 10 as honestly it didn't more of a 9 or 8.5 but to go on about it like you would a truely terrible game is undeserving. I think most will find that if they didn't like GTA IV they will find the same sort of issues in Red Dead Redemption. I say this because Rockstar seem to have a new direction that is applying to their whole lineup of games which started with GTA4. I look or hear about games like Agent, LA Noire, and Max Payne 3 and they all seem to be more mature in their presentation and content. Maybe its just me

What the hell, people? This was confirmed long ago. And why do you need to swim? 70% of the map is damned desert!

You guys, Marston can swim. A R* exec basically confirmed that he just can't do it in deep water.

 

You can wade through rivers, and make your way across .. but the reason they say 'he can't swim' is to prevent you from going beyond the games borders.

 

In previous GTA games, they just placed you on an island and you could fly out to sea infinitely. Well, you can't really do that because there are no 'islands' in the west. So to prevent people from going on the games limits they place large rivers flowing on the borders of the game. Since there are no helicopters or planes (this is the West) placing the rivers makes it to where if you swim out too deep Marston will drown.. basically prohibiting you from going that far.

 

He can swim. There are lakes and stuff. He just can't swim DEEP waters, or swim through rivers on the edge of the maps.

 

 

Anyway, did anyone see GameTrailers TV tonight? I missed it. Was there any new info or anything?
