The update screwed it up

Recommended Posts

Ok, GTA IV was running fine until I decided to get the latest patch (Version 1.0.2.0). So I downloaded and installed it with no problems and then relaunched the game.

I now get a window opening (I think it's a dos window) which appears and disappears and then the game won't start.

In the description of fixes in the patch I downloaded and installed is this:

Unable to load game fixed - For some users, a DOS window would open and close immediately upon Game Launch, GTA IV would never launch.

Which I think is the problem I now have. So why has the patch given me a problem it claimed it fixes and I didn't have before hand. angry.gif It's stupid and I now can't get rid of the patch without re-installing the game which will take ages (unless theres another way?).

If anyone else has had this problem or knows how I can fix it that would be fantastic.

Thanks for reading

Edit: I just realised this should be in the PC section, sorry.
