Revenger's Tragedy bug?

Hi folks,

 

apologies if this has been answered before, but I did have a good rummage around both here and google.

 

So I'm on Revenger's tragedy and I've tried it twice now (well three times, but once I just rolled the boat, ahem) and the same result. I get in the helicopter, fine, I even manage to fly the thing despite the weird camera angle bug (keep hitting look behind then it centres the camera forwards and I can fly, hurrah). The problem is Dimitri keeps crashing in downtown Algonquin and I don't know what to do next.

 

I get in the chopper and chase him, I catch up and he has crashed at the intersection of Jade Street and Bismark Avenue. His helicopter is smashed and he's stood next to it, or at least someone is. First time I dropped down in front of him and blasted everything with the minigun, but my chopper got "destroyed" and mission over. Second time I just tried to be a bit smarter, landed a way off and shot from a distance. One of his guys jobs over, drags me out of the chopper and shoots me. I shoot back, except he's invincible. So I hope back in my chopper and just escape with a fraction of health left. Only now Jacob has disappeared. So I'm flying solo trying to figure out what to do. Land up on the hospital helipad and send a couple of rpgs at the guy who just tried to kill me, he just stands there and takes it. Eventually I moved to the other side of the street and was walking around a parapet when I feel through it, evidently it wasn't solid and I wasn't supposed to be walking there.

 

But yeah, have I missed something obvious? Having read a few walkthroughs to try and figure it out my understanding is he's not supposed to crash until we've had a nice long chase and we land on happiness island, right?

 

I'm going to load up an old save game and choose the revenge option in a minute just so I can finish it, but it's incredibly frustrating. Anyone else had this, or does everyone have this and I'm just not doing the correct thing?

That is bizzare... What makes him crash? Does he hit a building or just drop out of the sky?

 

I wonder what would happen if you land on a building and fired an RPG at him? Obviously you won't pass the mission because you won't be able to trigger the final cutscene.

 

You could try landing on Happiness Island and see whether that triggers anything...

I'm not sure, he was just crashed both times when I caught up. I was actually maneouvering to take an rpg shot when I fell through the building. My guess is that he's invincible though, to stop you shooting him down before the final cut scene.

 

I had a go at landing on Happiness Island, nothing happened, just the red marker on the map telling me where he was.

 

Oh well, loaded up an old save game and I've gone the other route. Not to worry, the ship was fun too.
