LeatherJacketSoldier Posted March 25, 2021 Share Posted March 25, 2021 Claude DOESN'T kill Maria, he justs fires his gun in the air to shut her up, she was talking nonstop and that would upset even a guy like Wu Zi Mu. It wouldn't make sense if Claude killed her, because only reason Claude went to Catalina's mansion in The Exchange was to pay the rescue for Maria and get her back safe and sound. Otherwise, he would just pop up in the place and start shooting whoever is on his sight. The main reason for that mission is to save Maria at all costs, and the second one is to kill Catalina. Also on gta 3 fandom it says that Maria was Salvatore’s ‘trophy wife’. Of cause Maria only married Salvatore because he was rich, and she also wanted to have s** with Salvatore (pls don’t take down this post GTAforums) Leaving that aside, also Maria is capable of attracting trouble. She always hangs out with shady people at shady parties, and buys SPANK. Now even after Claude gained control over Liberty City the Colombian cartel and maybe other hostile gangs will not be happy and they will try to kidnap Maria while she’s at the club and then force Claude to pay ransom. Claude is smart. He knew Maria could get in the way of his quest of Liberty City’s domination, she was just gonna be a big hole in his pocket, so he disposed of her when he could. Despite the official response from the developers, each player decides for himself whether she was killed or not. After all, Maria has changed a lot since her first appearance in the game story, special attention was paid to her metamorphosis in Liberty City Stories. He made the effort to save her. Also the radio at the end says that witnesses saw a dark haired woman (Maria obviously) leaving with Claude, therefore she left with Claude alive. Claude didn't have a reason to hate her either, if anything she was the only person to like him that is still alive.
