I'm almost at a level 9...

Recommended Posts

And I seriously don't even think I am that great of player. sad.gif

Don't get me wrong - I think I am an awesome racer! And I am the master at respawn killing during GTA Races. I've probably gotten the bulk of my money just solely by playing these two game modes. I'd probably already be a level 9 if I didn't stop to grief so much.

But when it comes to Deathmatch and TDM, I always get owned. I mean, I just am not that great of a shot. It's the same story every game. I lock onto someone and fire away for 5 seconds. I tap the shoot button, not hold it. I aim for the head. My crosshair is always right square in the middle of someone's noggin. But I am always the one who dies first.

I don't know what I am doing wrong! I'm really good at driving, but I think my shooting ability is what keeps me from being a truly elite GTA player. And if I am a Level 9 and can't shoot, that's pretty embarassing.

Any suggestions? WTF am I doing wrong?

But i do know how to aim! I have taken all advice from this forum, studied up on youtube videos, etc... and it just doesn't work. I always own at video games since super mario 1 and punch out for NES so i dont get it. In RE4 for gamecube I can hit zombie people headhots with pistol even when they are out of laser sight range.

And noose is lame as hell. i would not have respect for myself even if i had leveleed that away. i would have been at 9 months ago if thar were my startegy. sorry i am drunk right now.

i am going to drunken grief right now. add me if ya wanna own me or whatevr,

Well, glad you're still alive!

Comment of the night from rudy - "I need to puke. If you don't hear from me in 10 minutes I'm probably dead"

lulz

But yeah, anybody who wants to get better at shooting, just play disallow all the time!

AA messes my aim up after a couple games.

Well tips for you are just basic really but there the best.

1) Crouch when you shoot for more accuracy

2) dont use the covour system your head sticks out

3) instead crouch behind something and roll

4) tap your gun for more accuracy

5) aim for the head

6) use manual aim it makes more damage than auto aim for some reason

so theres my tips

Rudy,

I am trying very hard to improve my AA off skills (not sure if you are refering to AA on or off) and have a hint that have not seen here much...

I just recently switched from Complex to Basic reticule. The basic one only has the one dot...the Complex has the extra circle. It is friggin amazing the difference this one thing made in my aim! Without the extra circle in my way, my accuracy has gone WAY up! biggrin.gif

And stop telling him to crouch! Jesus Christ! The only time to crouch is when you want to hide the infamous "dot" above your head! (unless you are talking about AA on, in which it really doesn't matter either way).

My 2 cents.

Rudy, I've seen your posts on griefing and they have inspired me many a time to grief my self and as those stories you tell lare f*cknig hilarious, I really regret to say the only advice I can give is have a practice on FF, because people least expect it (a little) and therefore you can pop them in the head more. I usually go for locking on, then pushing the crosshair as far as I can up without unlocking, then just shoot away! Usually works. I'm sure it'll come to you.

As I've racked up 3300 team kills on TDM I can absolutely say that team killing truly makes you good at headshots, especially when you get some pissed of clan or elite player who wants to teach you a lesson biggrin.gif

Okay, crouching does improve accuracy, but infinitesimally. Any decent shooter can move laterally and take out somebody crouching, in an open gun fight. Of course, there are many advantages to crouching, but it's mainly tactical and has little to do with aim or accuracy, IMO.

that's how i play too. i feel i can focus better on what i'm shooting. the circle just gets in my way. and i also switch between medium and high sensitivity depending on the kind of game or type of things happening in the game. mainly on medium if i'll be shooting from any distance and high if lots of people are in cars.

when the blips are set to team, far, or off, use the crouch sneak upon people. and just give up on auto aim, it's over now. you're done.

lots of people have lots of different tactics and advice, just use what works for you.

Prfctpersistent

When you say lock on do you mean...AA? Because if you do that is basically just target and use your middle finger to out fire the other person because they don't have to aim so they don't need the index finger they can just fire away. Owning people takes much time. Practice shooting people in moving vehicles, practice your fire rate when you DO use AA off and you need to get rid of that recoil it helps if you are faster in shooting than the other player because that means less bullet spray for you. Don't zoom in when your enemy is very close to you just aim so you can strafe back and forth faster while still firing. Also get USED to firing while moving it's what keeps you alive unless you have good aim. Learn to roll when necessary it'll save your life. Always go straight for the head and if they are a moving target go for the high torso because you probably wont hit the head 100% of the time. Just practice on the head the more you do the more it'll be natural to just know how far up to push your stick to get the head.
