TekUK Posted January 30, 2009 Author Share Posted January 30, 2009 I've reported lots of cheaters, and those modders that use their fast cars to play racethe other day i was hosting an awesome gta race, like 16 ppl... and someone decided to spawn a boat in the middle of the track... have u seen that big boat?? i cant remember the name, but its spawned and crashed almost everyones game... asi i said.. i've reported lots but i dont think MS is gonna do somthing about it... what a shame... such a fun multiplayer game!! btw i play private games mostly since that happened its a tug boat, that big black thing these dumbasses keep spawning that take up loads of memory, and cause some ppl video & latency lag. Its R*'s fault for letting modded version of gta 4 be able to play mp. he's right, but also, there was no reason to go so stupid with modding. i.e RPG Pistols n so on. Thats not an affective mod, thats just a mod to annoy people, and have fun watching it. Well the people that get hit by these mods arent seeing the funny side. IM 1 OF EM. Mods used to be cool. i,e, BF2 mods are cool. wtf are the mods for GTAIV all about. TO ANNOY PEOPLE AND GET THEM KICKED FROM SERVERS. thats how it is. The cheapest is to simply put the original GTA files on LIVE - when you join an MP game, it does a checksum or similar against your files - if they don't match, you can't play. However, this method also prevents modders from testing anything except in SP. I realise the op hates cheaters/hackers and I agree, it is no fun running around in freemode with your pals when some cheater comes in with a rocket SMG and proceeds to shoot everyone else and crash your game just because they can. But you also need to realise that there are other people who do use mods - not to annoy other players or mess with their game, but just because they are curious. Sure - restrict mods/hacks to freemode only - but this won't solve the current issues. I'm inclined to start thinking dedicated servers - either that or a much better way to handle friends/foes within LIVE. Perhaps a 'ban list' - you ban someone in LIVE, this means they can't play in any games that you host. This would give people the chance to simply stop the immature cheaters/hackers from spoiling their hosted games... sure it wouldn't change much initially but after more and more people use the ban system, it would mean cheaters would have to host their own game and if you join a game hosted by a cheater - you leave. The problem is that LIVE isn't giving the player control of their own game, sure you can negative rep someone or ignore them or report them - but ultimately you know you may well end up in a game with that person again. Why not give players the ability to CHOOSE who they want to play with and who they want to avoid DIRECTLY. There are probably many other ideas out there but this is my 2 pence. Just for the record, I'm one of those people who use mods - but I'm certainly no griefer, I only use mods in games that *I* host or in a private game with my friends as long as it's cool with them - otherwise, it's business as normal Peace. A78 hey thats a good post, im cool with mods that dont affect my gaming. its a shame we cant like. avoid your mods, and just kik the cheaters mods. Im not to great when it comes to server issues or mods. Dedicated would be a good idea. but would mean you need a good up/down speed right or not. am not sure. I also dont understand why any mod would need to be tested in MP. when SP gives you more to do that MP. more animations, more interactions, the game in general is better to look at and move around on in SP. Mods should not be tested in MP. Not only that they shouldnt even be allowed. Unless they were official mods. Mods would be balanced alterations so that everyone can enjoy the game, not one guy enabling god mode and going on a killing spree with an assault rifle that shoots exploding dildos. Then Dedi servers can choose if they want cheats and you know they are before you enter and everyone else has support to auto kick and ban detection of it. Until then MP is simply a place to find mods and trainers as the norm . I was online only an hour ago and 2 people were using the same trainer, I shot them they had infinite health, spawning cars all over the place and also they had a speed mod so in cars they shot off like rocket speed around the airport. Plus they were typing to people in the message area where to get the trainer and the URL etc, oddly enough people came and went and no suprise that little crew of trainer users stayed playing. newfocus Posted January 31, 2009 Share Posted January 31, 2009 I was on mp with my mates and we were doing a race when this guy came on a started spawning boats ruining the race and crashing my game also the vote kick system is rubbish I suggested kick another guy on freemode for using a trainer (which he admitted to using) and everyone was like "why do you want to kick him" and I said hes cheating and they ended up kicking me the c*nts R* need to create a dedicated server and an anticheat system P.S. Until R* finds some way to stop mods being able to be used in MP or until they fix MP to include banning you are not going to stop anyone from cheating. I always report cheaters,...it probably doesn't work, but at least I've done what I can. Is there a way to set an option so that I can list a number of names so that the game will not connect to a server they are on? Guns firing explosive bullets, 50 choppers being spawned at the airport along with a dozen burnt out sports cars. My framerate dropped to 5-6 (normally around 40) when gert_wilder (nor something along those lines) decided he was going to mess the game up for everyone! There are loads of cheaters on this board. You obviously don't have the skill to play the game properly, and the only way you can kill someone is by cheating. What satisfaction does it give you? Does it make you feel powerful? I sent them this one today.... I didn't manage to save the most outragous thing he did which was dropping boats and bikes from his helicopter!!!! It is just downright unethical and shameful on their part. On the other hand, it is more of the players faults when they allow such behavior to happen when all they do is try to continue to play the game while the guy goes on causing chaos to the overall game experience. If someone manages to change colour or design of cars, chopper, bikes, characters, whatever, that's no problem for me. However, the guy in this clip, ( ) hadn't only made the chopper red. He made it indestructible. He himself (or she) was also invincible. Many players were standing next to him firing straight at his head and he didn't get a single scratch. He also spawned boats, cars, bikes, you name it all over the place.... Unfortunately, these kind of cheating Basxxxd's ruin the game for everyone except themselves..... To combat this, i enabled god mod for myself so that these pissers cant spawn kill me, but even thats annoying as id rather play with out that. He was shown on the minimap but other than that, he was just a shadow which was stabbing people with knife. A kick vote should be all it takes but it seems to me that upto 90% of players suffer an extra chromosome that prevents them from understanding what the f*ck is going on, rendering it all useless. Dedicated servers, R*. Let this game live on PC, i dont join deathmatch because theres constant spawners and god moders when theres more than 10 people on a server. camdean Posted February 8, 2009 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Disable modding on most servers, so fa**ots cant ruin the games or use sneaky cheats almost un-noticable so that even an admin couldn't pick up, as for these people having a creative side by flying upside down in a car during a race, thats about as creative as my firt sh*t, and honestly it wasn't modern art, it was a stinking mess !!
