Dcrysis02
So what are you saying, it's not an random error? What is it, then? Maybe you haven't noticed, but this game acts differently on various setups. No. I mean that if those items had been flagged wrongly in 1.0.2.0 no one who is using patch 1.0.2.0. should have them but for example I have all those items. So it can't be like that. I don't know what causes that missing item problem (besides using cracks). I think that it must have something to do with the fact that many have got those items back by reinstalling and playing without any cracks. Maybe the game just doesn't believe that it is a legal version in some setups. I didn't use cracks and the items were gone.I used the official SecuROM crack and guess what? The items are still missing. If you reinstall, the items will come back.If you patch the game the items are missing again... IHV
How can i play GTA4 v 1.0 ? Since GFWL will auto update it. v1.0 had by far the best look and performance for me, now its just ridiculos, have to play with the pop ups. Anyone know? I assume playing MP is out of question with v1.

copperwire93
Make sure your internet connection plug off while launching the game if you want to play with v1.0. So GFWL will not auto update it.

Nillansan
I guess when they compiled the 1.0.3.0. GTAIV.exe they accidentally flagged the singleplayer items as multiplayer items (or something like that, use your imagination ). So that's why the items are missing. Good enough explanation for me. In any case, it was an error. Well If that is true... why don't I have any missing objects? Shouldn't those objects be missing for all of us if it was like that. So what are you saying, it's not an random error? What is it, then? Maybe you haven't noticed, but this game acts differently on various setups. Maybe the game just doesn't believe that it is a legal version in some setups. I am tired of hearing this over and over again. I am not using a crack nor a modified launcher, I am playing by the rules. I don't use any mods or commandlines either. Yet I am missing objects. CharmingCharlie
The missing objects in the game have NOTHING whatsoever to do with any anti piracy trigger. Rockstar Toronto have been more than happy to come out and say "yes such and such a thing is an anti piracy measure" when it has been discovered. However in the case of the missing hotdog vendors and other items they are "looking in to it". So since they happily came clean about the drunk cam, car acceleration and computers not working I think we can safely say the missing game objects have nothing whatsoever to do with any anti piracy measure. Psymn321
Missing objects wouldnt stop your game being playable, so i guess it wouldnt be a very good anti-piracy tactic.
heat84
Missing objects wouldnt stop your game being playable, so i guess it wouldnt be a very good anti-piracy tactic. That depends on what the object is that's missing. Like in the mission where you have to get a rock and throw it through a store window. If that rock was missing you might not be able to do that mission. You might be able to throw something else through the window or break it with the bat. Cylon
It may be a very stupid question but I'll risk it anyway. Do you guys still play GTA IV or not (because of the missing items)? I mean, I would like to play it but now everytime I want to launch it, I remember that half the stuff is missing and I'm like "goddamit" and I'm not playing it anymore. Anyone feeling the same or am I the only wacko here? Cheers
