GODzillaGSPB
Patch 1.2 included a tidal wave? It did. Next patch will come with a tactical nuclear airstrike which will whipe Liberty City clean. But therefore we'll get a HUUUGE performance boost! Next patch will come with a tactical nuclear airstrike which will whipe Liberty City clean. But therefore we'll get a HUUUGE performance boost! Woohoo if that happens then we will easily get 60fps that the snobs keep moaning about . I would wager a bet they would come back and say something to the effect of "yeah well it should really be 120fps just to get smooth game play". I will admit I am annoyed at these things being missing (really pissed off about the clock not working), I can't understand how Rockstar Toronto missed this, but I just have to hope they bring out a patch to fix the patch. mkey82
This obviously is some sort of a bug as not everyone suffers form it. Probably in response to some configurations a memory range gets wiped so we lose all that stuff. Most certainly this was not done intentionally. It's a real shame R*'s pr service is always smoking crack or something instead of addressing the public with some relevant info.

It's a real shame R*'s pr service is always smoking crack or something instead of addressing the public with some relevant info. I think someone already pointed at the cause of this problem: All these items that are missing are also missing in the MP of GTA IV since the retail 1.0 version. So in multiplayer this is intended. I guess when they compiled the 1.0.3.0. GTAIV.exe they accidentally flagged the singleplayer items as multiplayer items (or something like that, use your imagination ). So that's why the items are missing. Tests revealed that you can mix parts of patch 1 and patch 2 (GTAIV.exe from patch 1; most of the other files from patch 2) and you'll get the items back. However this screws with the ingame graphic settings and when I tested it my game crashed for the first time. So we still need to wait for a new patch with a new GTAIV.exe. The only good news is that the problem should be easily fixable for Rockstar.

GTA_Vista
I dont fancy reading through 12 pages again but someone mentioned that Rockstar may have skimped on a framerate fix by deleting certain hotdog stands, if that were the case why I am seeing twin hotdog stands selling next to each other in various areas of the city now Ill try and grab a screenie next time I run into one (or 2 )

Stop spamming this thread with unrelated problems! --------------- Okay I tried reinstalling the game and I applied 1.0.2.0., which didn't bring back any objects then I followed the guide provided by Voodooman which didn't help either. GTA-Bobski
First, thanks soiramk for putting mine and your screenshot together Now... this thread is about missing objects but how about replaced objects? These screenshots are taken near the Irish Bar in Dukes click The wooden fench is gone and the trashcans are replaced by empty beerbarrels. I guess when they compiled the 1.0.3.0. GTAIV.exe they accidentally flagged the singleplayer items as multiplayer items (or something like that, use your imagination ). So that's why the items are missing. I don't think this is true and made this screenshot as proof: This screenshot is taken here and there's a Cannonball Run race which has its finish at the end of this pier. In the race the scaffolding is gone and so are the barriers and benches. EDIT: I checked tonight and in every race they are left out: However, in SinglePlay those things are still there. So... although I hope the missing objects are bug-related I can't help to think Rockstar removed or replaced them intentionally with no other reason then to beef up the framerate and smoothness. mkey82
Well I did a reinstall without patching the game and it seems like the objects are back, but I can't play multiplayer without patching it, which sucks! Are you missing objects as well? No, my stuff is still there. Like random hot dog stands and traffic cones. I haven't examined it in detail, though. I guess when they compiled the 1.0.3.0. GTAIV.exe they accidentally flagged the singleplayer items as multiplayer items (or something like that, use your imagination ). So that's why the items are missing. I don't think this is true and made this screenshot as proof: I never said that. And what does the picture prove, anyway? The point would be that some of the "clutter" that has been marked for single player only now by accident (nothing more then a mere bug IMO) is not being used in both multi and single player. Like I said, since not all users are experiencing this, it must be some system dependent bug.

No. I mean that if those items had been flagged wrongly in 1.0.2.0 no one who is using patch 1.0.2.0. should have them but for example I have all those items. So it can't be like that. I don't know what causes that missing item problem (besides using cracks). I think that it must have something to do with the fact that many have got those items back by reinstalling and playing without any cracks. Maybe the game just doesn't believe that it is a legal version in some setups.
