GM965_X3100
Before I continue this tutorial, I can definitely promise you that your GTA IV will function, given that you have integrated x3100 enabled, 965 express chip set family graphics card, whether it be laptop (which I have) or desktop. It can be said that this is a viable fix for RESC10 error, with the above named system criterion. First here are my specs: -intel GM965 mobile express chip set family Core 2 Duo, 2 CPU's @ 2.00 GHz -Vram-256 mb -RAM-1014 -front side bus-246 -clock speed-640 MHz -dx 10 installed (don't know if it was wise to install dx 10 to integrated card or if it made any sense) -.net framework 3.5 installed -service pack 3 installed Here are your instructions to get gta iv started and running!!!!! 1. make sure you have .net framework 3.5 installed 2. make sure you have service pack 3 installed 3. For the specific graphics card named above....download this specific driver, then update (crucial as game absolutely cannot start without this step) here's link to card driver: RESC10 ERROR FIX 4. If after you have done all the updates enlisted above, and you get a new error, only this time it's a TXP50 /TXP40 error , this is as a result of applying the first patch released by rockstar to "fix" game. So you know what this means right? yes you have to totally unistall gta iv ( I just deleted everything from C:\Rockstar\etc ) then re install everything, without applying any patch whatsoever whether it be patch 1 or 2, they both rendered the game un startable after application!!!!! THIS IS A DEFINITE FIX, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, BUT WILL ONLY DELIVER 4-5 fps which is pretty slow!!!!!!! Continue guide to get more fps!!! **GETTING MORE FPS** just use these commandline flags, -noprecache -percentvidmem 100 -availablevidmem 4.0 (this will enable RAM to take over for lack of VRAM, and you will actually see about um a 500 resource usage increase in graphics menu) (Only use if you have 3 gigs of ram and up) you shoukd be getting 7-15 fps now!!!! I KNOW IT'S PATHETIC, SOMEONE PLAYING GTA IV WITH 256 INTEGRATED VRAM, AND 1014 mb of RAM, AND A DUAL CORE 2.00 GHz, but it's actually astonishing that an integrated can deliver these frames.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cri2T
Oh srry about that meant 1.014 gigs of ram srry...... Sorry, still not correct. It's 1024MB or 1GB. 1GB = 1024MB, 1MB = 1024KB, 1KB = 1024B and so on and so forth. Rather amazing that you've come this far without learning that... Makes me think you did a copy/paste job or some such. Next we should converse about Bits and Bytes. Like this: 1024kbps = (roughly) 125KB/s. Bet you didn't know that, and you were blaming your crappy download speeds on the server rather than your ISP being less than completely honest with you. Sure the terminology they use is correct, it's that they don't educate you to the fact that 20mbps looks alot bigger than 2.5MB/s. GM965_X3100
not refering to that of the factum of what a megabyte is, but rather, not remembering on stage, that 1024 mb = 1 GIGABYTE. Over the years, I've just gotten used to saying 1.013 GIGABYTES, and as such, what I previously stipulated is just mere regurgitation of what I've been saying, rather than my actual knowledge. Of course I would have to know that 1024 mb = 1gig. Why because I am a novice/programmer creating programs for Computer Science course and Knowledge of such info is critical. For example, the other day, I made a program that effectively displays CPU speed, or allow users to toggle speed up/down. So with out a profound knowledge base of Capacity, clearly, I could not have created that program for comp science class. ayushisrocking
7-15 fps That's really impressive for a mid-range intel card, it might be better if the person uses GMA X4500HD(hopefully), because that card is FULLY supported by NFS Undercover... BUT, can you show some screenshots and/or a benchmark pleasE? and, the FPS might be higher if you use the second patch..if you want to, then please refer to the pinned topic in the PC version sub-forum . Even if he did copy and paste it and it doesn't work, it's not that much worse then 90% of the garbage people are posting on here anyways (including this garbage of a post I'm making right now). GTA_XP
Man, I have really bad experiences about Intel chipsets. Really bad, I always played GTA SA on all Low settings and 640x480. When I am in LV, the game laggs like hell. Extreme framerates drop and mid poly cars cant even be replaced in GTA SA. An 23k poly car already laggs. Any DX9 game wich needs atleast shader models 2.0 like NFS games always crash at startup. Midtown Madness game wich is very old 16bit game never can be played at medium/high settings. If I set all on Highest, the game will lagg, how pathetic for an 16bit game My mind for Intel chipsets never be changed and always "Damn, an Intel chipset?!" Intel chipsets are not designed for much asking games like GTA4, AC, NFS UC and much more games wich have very nice graphics. Only nVidia and ATI are excellent for games, they are designed for much asking games. Matrox, VIA Unichrome, Intel, Creative Labs are not great.
