Ryan
1. You should have no problem running San Andreas on your PC. You can view the system requirements for SA in this topic. 2. San Andreas Multiplayer will run no problem. The main thing with SA:MP is your internet but you say you have great internet so no it shouldn't be a problem. If you have any other questions about SA:MP, please ask them over at the Offical SA:MP Forum. 3. If the game goes slow. Well SA has a natural tendency to lag for no reason sometimes. If it runs slow for you try updating your drivers and stuff, and if you have programs in the background close those out. I don't suspect it should run too slow for you. 4. The downgrader patch is for those who have the version 2 copy of the game. Installing the patch allows you to mod your game. It's also required for those who want to play SA:MP. As for what it does, in a nutshell, it replaces a few version two files of your game with those of a a version one game. As for negative effects. I can't really think of any. It open's up more opportunities for you and the game. With your game downgraded you can mod it, you can play SA:MP, and you can also play Version 1 saves then. You can read more about to do that here. 5. Defragging your hard drive simply removes up junk on it and sorta tidies everything up. Google search it for more info. 6. Backing up your files is easy. When I mod my game this is how I backup my files. I find out which files I'll be editing. Once I know which ones I'll be editing I right click on them and then click copy. I then go to My Documents and make a New Folder called Backups. I go into it and right click and then hit paste. That makes a copy of the file of the file your modding. You don't necessarily need to do it that way though. You can put them on your desktop if you like or anywhere else. To answer the question though, to make a back up, all you do is make a copy of the file and paste it somewhere safe.
