All Islands unlocked from start.

Recommended Posts

I've just realised that you start in alderney, yet one of the first missions sends you to Bohan (or broker, whichever it is...). If I remember correctly, neither of the bridges are open at that point, so how could you get accros to there?

that's a continuity error tounge.gif

Not really complaining I want it all available from the start, but it ain't like rockstar to have such an error in their work.

Omnia sunt Communia

Johnny can pass because he's an American citizen. The only reason Niko couldn't travel between the islands in the beginning was because he didn't have an visa, making it very hard for him to get past the police.

What? lol.gif

Johnny is a Native, so even if the whole city was open, Niko would have had a hard time getting around anyway...Being a Terrorist and All. confused.gif

Since it's a citizen vs. illegal immigrant thing on the roadblocks, for continuity they could put in police checkpoints that leave a lane open for you. They'll probably ignore it, though. The "realism" of how islands are closed and opened in GTA games has always seemed a bit tongue-in-cheek.

Very near the start Roman says Niko can't cross the bridges because he doesn't have a visa. It might be when you are first driving from the docks.

Wans't there Terrorists?

That's the joke: terrorists, illegal immigrants, what's the difference?

It was the joke from the Get. Since we first saw him, ppl were like, "What! Why are we playing as a Terrorist?".

well it was part of the story line the bridges were closed because of a terrorist threat, which someone said on here reconded it may have been jonny who caused it.

Niko: "Why don't you show my around the city?"

Roman: "F*cking terrorists. There's been a big scare and you can't go across the bridges so good. You, without a visa, I would stay in Broker. F*ck it stay in Hove Beach, everyone like us does."

So yeah, like I said before, it's in the conversation between Roman and Niko on the drive back from the docks.

The bridges were closed to everyone, it was written on the news that people were loosing their jobs because they couldnt go to work, etc.

Roman told Niko he should stick to hove beach since he didnt have credit (or money) anyway.. being an illegal immigrant was not why Niko couldnt cross the bridges (nobody could).

You guys didnt pay much atention uh?

I just posted the quote from the game, Roman clearly says Niko should stay in Hove Beach because he doesn't have a visa. Yes according to the web the mayor opens the bridges after pressure from the public which contradicts Roman but R* have always had a tongue in cheek attitude towards the bridge and tunnel blocking as it's clearly a game mechanic ans only secondarily factored in to the story.

Basically we'll just have to wait and see if the bridges are open or not, but I won't be surprised if all islands are open from the start of TL&D.

The whole city is open for Johnny, unlike in Niko's story, it isn't because he was an illegal immigrant it was simply because the bridges were all closed because of a terrorist threat. Surprised someone can have such a mental error as to not realise tounge.gif

"Something else" is right. TMR what are you talking about that made no sense. It is an overlapping story, its not like we're playing 10 years before Niko came.

The dialogue from Roman was just IMO making it seem more real for the player.
