GTCharged
Okay, why are my GTA IV "Resource limits" so low? It limits me at 494 Megabytes! My specs are as follows: -Windows Vista x32 -AMD 64 Dual Core -6.3 GHz -3.2 GB Ram -GeForce 8800 Ultra Superclocked -800 GB Hard Drive Can anyone figure out why it limits me so much? Edit: I have the rockstar recommended patch, and my game is a great 8 fps. (sarcasm) Edited January 24, 2009 by GTCharged

ExitiumMachina
Any commandline? Only thing I can think would do that, check the shortcut and main directory.
Neon25
Okay, why are my GTA IV "Resource limits" so low? It limits me at 494 Megabytes! Because your card is 512 MB, and a few megabytes are off to resolution(the higher the resolution, the more MB it takes) -AMD 64 Dual Core -6.3 GHz When will people learn that you don't multiply the frequency of the CPU by the amount of cores... When will you learn to stop being such a nimrod, and read up on computer electronics... BTW, my card has 1 GB memory, so think again.
Neon25
When will you learn to stop being such a nimrod, and read up on computer electronics... Jesus Christ. Don't you know that dual cores have a whole different architecture, and that's why you don't multiply the frequency of CPU by the amount of cores? Even Pentium 4 @ 4.5 GHz is a LOT slower than Core2Duo 1.8 GHz. BTW, my card has 1 GB memory, so think again. I guess that's your card right here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_8800_gt_us.html Standard Memory Config = 512 MB

That's the Geforce 8800 GT, not my card. I can see that English is not your first language. Learn to take the time to read before making even more of a fool out of yourself. My card: Geforce 8800 ULTRA - SUPERCLOCKED EDITION ... All I'm asking for in this post is a way to make the resource limits higher, and you guys resort to flaming me. Neon25
If you can point out where did I flame you I would be happy. Because I'm not the one calling people "fools" when in fact they are trying to help. Edited January 24, 2009 by Neon25
GTCharged
I just want to say I'm sorry for being rude to you, but I build computers for people. I know how the computers work, as I have to deal with compatability, electronics, and sometimes even soldering. I just want to know how to "up" the impossibly small limit. I can run any other of my over 50 some games on full settings, but gta iv lags like a little pos. It pisses me off that I can't set my VRam higher, or run ClockRestart to make it run faster. Vista sucks balls, I could do ANYTHING in XP...
tigerx
you're getting low FPS because of your CPU, dual core doesn't run GTA4 really good (unless you have the higher end dualcore, e8500+) as for your limit, you can edit the commandline.txt file to give yourself more room, but that wont' help your FPS very much, it'll just allow you to set higher settings. Try this: create commandline.txt in your GTAIV directory, and put -availablevidmem 2.

GTCharged
It works. Again, I apologise, I was getting too heated, way too fast. Hope we are cool.
