necramonium Posted January 26, 2009 Share Posted January 26, 2009 (edited) Found a new bug,when i go in the internet shop (anyone that is) and i go to the ringtones website,buy some themes and my entire pc freezes,have checked it twice,happened on both occasions.And two time yesterday the game seemed to freeze on me,once in a video when Niko goes into Dwayne's apartment for the first time,and the second time i can't remember when. But it's really freezing up weird,the game freezes,so i press CTRL-ALT-DELETE,the game won't go to the background and show the taskmanager,but the sound of the game is gone,and when i press the mouse button again i hear the game again... Anyway, here it is: There is another tiny bug with patch 1.0.2.0: When I drive a Banshee into of the two pay 'n spray garages in Algonquin it comes out silver or grey. ALWAYS. No more colors. ^^ It doesn't happen with other cars (as far as I can tell) and it doesn't happen with other pay 'n spray garages. i have the same "problem" before new patch.. If it isn't, any idea why it is happening to the people it's happening to? Any idea how to fix this? I'm still trying to be optimistic and hope that this is a bug, and wasn't intended. There are quite a bit of objects that were removed with this patch and many people have noticed this issue. I really hope this issue gets fixed in the next patch. Rockstar Toronto Posted January 26, 2009 Share Posted January 26, 2009 I am currently experiencing a horrible audio bug which harshens the audio and makes it skip as if it's lagging. I tried restarting, then the new driver process, nothing. Dear R*, Please help me solve this issue. I can't play the game with the audio on after this patch. I am running Windows 7, BTW. Well I think I'll list all the issues I'm getting since the new patch. - More crashes than ever. Encountering RESC 10 errors with : Out of Video Video Memory and Crash to desktop when accessing map or during play or just locks up. - No more internet. Cannot access internet at internet café no matter how many times you press LB (360 controller) or E (keyboard) Missions cannot be completed or started - No interaction with soda machines. same issue as above. - Misplaced and stretched textures, not mapping correctly. - Game comes to a juddering halt as frame rates fall approx 30 mins into play. Although, i can safely say with the latest nVidia drivers 181.22, there is a 10-20% performance increase with this patch. Gameplay is much smoother, when it works. noid449 Posted January 26, 2009 Share Posted January 26, 2009 i cant use that driver it just doesnt load the game i use 185.20 runs smooth and clear .. except for the sound everynow and then corrupts but hopefully the commandline will help, as for the hotdog stands, havent noticed but will check i understand removing things to improve performance but im hoping thats just a glitch . not being selfish but why should people that have it working with good system suffer for people that cant run it . an option to lower the performance ie.. less peds surely would be better and more fair for all ? But, I witnessed a lot of people complaining about not being able to play when they had NATs open or moderate here on forums as well, though. No offence to Rockstar and their technical support, i just checked this as i don't play multiplayer too much, and in all fairness since i patched i cant get into any multiplayer games at all, before was fine. There are vendors/peds that only appear during certain times of day or when other conditions are met, are ALL the vendors gone in your game or only some? SWEETSAPRIK Posted January 26, 2009 Share Posted January 26, 2009 So far the vendors I never see anymore are the one in front of the motorcycle shop in Alderney, and the one here -> pic location I have come back at different times of day and still don't see them. That said, there are still some vendors in my game, and those that are have been there any time I went to visit them. The other missing objects (benches, cones, concrete dividers, metal dividers/gate things) are in all sorts of places. In the first and second pic there should be all sorts of objects that make up the construction/road work area. Oddly there is still a ped there with a sign directing you around the now non-existent construction. In the third pic there should be benches in that oval in the background, as well as some metal dividers/gates just outside the fence. A picture of the area in my third pic that someone took for comparison. There are also missing objects on the road below that, as you come out of the tunnel there should be some orange traffic cones (they aren't really cones, as they are cylindrical, but I'm not sure what they're called.) As an example : Joining the games - from the multiplayer menu on the cell phone, if the game doesn't lock up, or CTD as it sometimes does when going into multiplayer. I select Mulitiplayer > Player Match > LIVE > Custom match. Game searches for Games. Say ill select a game without filters that has green signal bars, it will say starting game, the loading screen appears, and i get a breif flash of the lobby then either the game will crash and windows will display ' GTA IV has stopped working' or GTA IV will display 'You have been removed from the game' I can select any game and i get the same results. I have a direct connection to the internet, my firewall and router are configured correctly and other GFWL games work okay. Its weird as it was working before the patch. Why did you touch it in the first place? learn to program and stop messing with our game, or come up with a solution to not have us update and still be able to play online. While i appreciate and share your frustration, i think its best if we help ourselves by reporting the issues we find and complaining less about them. You have to remember, if you fix one thing, you may break something else. However i do think its important to beta test patches like this especially for a game that is suffering a few major problems. If there's a beta programme i'd be more than happy to participate as I have worked as a software tester, and have a couple of computers to test things on... Rockstar, is there any word on what's happening with the interaction failure between the player and computers and TV's in the game?
