truehighroller
OK, I have this "new" problem. With "Late checkout" mission. I.e. it won't run. As soon as you get to the hotel, the game start to load and hangs. I tried... * retail version of the game * both 1.0.1.0 and 1.0.2.0 versions. Haven't tried it on a clean install, though. * both 9.1 and 8.12 Catalyst versions on a fresh (installed on Friday) and clean Vista. As a side note, I uploaded my savegame, if anyone would be willing to pass this mission, save and upload the file back to me I would be really thankful. It's a small download, less then 50k. You are probably going to need some xlive wrapper for this to work. Just load, you'll be in the safehaouse on East Park (or whatever it's called) and go the the RB for the mission, then drive to the hotel. I don't know what happens next SGTA411.7z Thanks. They came out with the game, they owe you nothing else LMAO.. Sorry I had to do it after all that complaining at me the other day .

sgtmay
you can play it with out the patch.... but only in offline mode. If you try to play online with V1.0 windows live will not let you log in and prompts you to patch it. i haven't tried using the first patch since i upgraded to a 64 bit O/S Edited February 9, 2009 by sgtmay

Santa88
Jesus christ...why did it take them 8 months to import it to pc anyway? Business? They wanted the weak desperate loosers to buy ps3s and 360s to just play the game? I mean this game wouldn't take 8 months to release for pc, and as a complete fail! Look at Mirror's Edge. It came for consoles first. How long did it take to come for pc? Does it look good? YES, looks twice better than gta4. Does it work well? yes, smooth as hell. Anyone tried fear 2 demo? Looks better than gta4 with better performance as well. I can't believe how selfishly lazy and ignorant ppl at rockstar are. They got their money so they don't give a rats ass about us. CousinBellic
Thanks Rockstar, Certainly improved FPS and gameplay considerably. I'm experiencing the same bugs reported. i.e. not able to use computers. Also Cannot complete MISSION: CLEAN GETAWAY. Many Mission attempts, even after restarting the game. Vlad never calls to say take the car for a wash and cannot park it away. Good Stuff RockStar, if the bugs could be ironed out it would be plain Sailing. Cheers

JohnZS
I am able to use the computers in the cyber cafe with no problems at all since patching to 1.0.2.0, I also have hot dog stands as well, however what I have noticed is that the annoying texture flicker/z-fighting issue still remains AND that the roadworks at the end of one of the main bridges as now disappeared? Just a quick question, has anyone else noticed the "Toll gate glitch" whereby cars sometimes randomly swerve at the toll gates causing chaos and traffic jams, instead of paying at the toll booth and driving on normally, some cars even drive into the toll booth itself! I would like to see that issue as well as the "z-flicker" addressed in a future patch, oh and 64bit enhancements would be nice as well. Oh and Spray/Body shops so you could choose the colour and wheels (rims) on your car would be nice as well! John

copperwire93
Folks!!! I just figure it out why i got missing textures on Windows Xp 64bit SP2! I borrowed my brother's 2GB rams and put it on my PC! So now i got 4GB, start the game and surprise... surprise the textures load properly. Still i'm mad with R*, they should mention 4GB rams is needed for 64bit instead they say 1.5GB ram on XP, 2GB rams for Vista! Why they didn't mention 4GB rams is needed for 64bit users!!!!?!!! Edit: It's my fault too, changing to 64bit with 2GB rams wasn't a good idea. Edited February 11, 2009 by copperwire93

That's because yours are vista, that OS had many process therefore there will be high chances of memory leak. If ATI then I would say it is safe to say don't use the 9.1 drivers because those made me crash to my desktop bad and I didn't stick with them long enough to see what other issues there were. Nvidia, can't say to much but, I have noticed some people with nvidia cards having issues. This is probably driver related as well. I say switch drivers the right way, by wiping out all traces of old drivers and see if you can find a set that work better for you and stick with them. I have been playing Burnout Paradise guys and let me tell you, EA made R* look like imcompitent coders with that game because I have yet to see a single issue with that game. I realy like it too, it is addicting. Edited February 11, 2009 by truehighroller

(note the windows maximum RAM support info on that page i linked... another reason why i went with 64 bit) thanks for the test report copperwire :update: i picked up 4 gigs and so far so good.... no missing textures or objects. madbaker
I used to get freezes & crashes after installing the second patch, sometimes it would play for a little while & then the framerate would drop to 3fps then back up to normal, then back to 3fps, usually forcing me to CTRL+ALT+DEL my way out of the game, VERY annoying!!, where as with just the first patch it was fine for hours & never crashed, except my framerate was lower due to just having patch 1 installed. I then tried Vista 64bit Ultimate (im on 32bit XP) & with all the current 64bit drivers for my system it actually made things much worse, framerate was much lower & the game stuttered poorly. I went back to XP then installed the Nvidia 182.05 beta drivers & im now playing for hours with the second patch installed, with my GTX260 & X2 6000+ im seeing 50-60fps in the actual game with lows of 25 minimum, its running like a charm now, I actually get a better framerate in the game rather than the benchmark. Obviously this is only for nvidia users, & it might not work for everyone but its fixed all my problems & ive been playing it for days now without any problems. False, unless Rockstar seriously f*cked up the game to require 4 gigs to not bug out but only use less that a half of that. GTAIV here uses up to 1.5GB RAM.
