TTKRickJames Posted January 25, 2009 Share Posted January 25, 2009 I was using the fedor's crack for v. 1.00 and patch 1.01 = Computer WorksI was using the fedor's crack for patch 1.02 = Computer Doesnt Work I AM NOW using the retail launchgtaiv.exe for patch 1.02 with the GAME's DISK in the drive = Computer Works Perfectly I can CONFIRM it is the crack causing the computer bug. I am currently on the mission Logging On and Roman said to go the internet cafe but when i got there and try to use the computers and it said press "e", so I pressed E but to no avail the game just prompt me to press e again, what i did out of rage was to shoot all the computer including all the civilians inside the cafe. I just formatted my PC. It seems cracks infected my registry no matter how many i clean, it won't delete itself. Anyway problem solved now, sh*t i will never use cracks anymore. I don't want my retail CD to get scratched -_- you do know you can get handheld cd cleaners that take scratchs off your discs... must have with dumb cds... never really liked cds, they too easy to damage... or even so spend more money on anti scratch surface cds... worst part is the top, if that gets damaged your screwed... I assume you mean the first when you say scratched like really like sd cards better or micro ones much smaller and getting larger and cheaper... plus the seek times are allot better... GTAMonkey2012 Posted January 25, 2009 Share Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) I would say to anyone who as even sniffed at modding or even thought about a crack or used one, or used a mod / no crack ... who experiences this to uninstall the game "completely" and re-install (back up saves etc first though!) I mean people who may have used a trainer, left files like this in the GTA folders, backed up any file at all and used a modded one, used live less but uninstalled then patched, used magic IV then uninstalled it and then patched, basically anything to do with this problem knowing at some stage you had a mod or crack anywhere near your current install before you patched .. and EVEN if you didnt anyway and have this problem. I patched it and tried all cafe's and all is fine on a first patched install and clean of any mods prior to installing of patch 2 .. I never use cracks ( and without re-install of game) so as its not a major issue with a lot of people (everyone suffering from it) then i would look at clean install first before diagnosing as patch bug. Bertrand1951 Posted January 25, 2009 Share Posted January 25, 2009 It looks like I wont be able to play the game anymore because of this technical glitch with the computers not working within the game. I press the button and it does nothing. I release it and it says press B to use the computer, and Nico just stands there. All because I downloaded a patch that was supposed to get the game to work more efficiently. I wonder why this game has been all glitchy and buggy? I will have to remember this experience the next time I spend my hard earned money on a PC game. Only hope now is for some technical genius to come up with a better patch. Updated the game today and the [E] wasn't working with the computers in [email protected] and the safehouse. I use(d) a no-CD crack as I'm too lazy to keep putting the disc in and out. CharmingCharlie Posted January 26, 2009 Share Posted January 26, 2009 I have no problem with using the internet cafe and I have a legal copy, Rockstar have confirmed that this is not a bug and it is an anti piracy measure so if you are playing with a retail clean copy of the game you should not encounter this issue. If you a real patient person just wait until team figure it out. It's not too long, just like mirror's edge they can make v1.01 crack real fast. I really hope many game developer remove DRM like Prince of Persia. I bought 2 legal copy just to support that company. Another one for my family member for sure.
