I had a backup of my launchgta4.exe from the fresh install of gta4. Then i felt tired of putting in the retail disk to play so i installed the crack. After the 2nd patch, computers don't work under the crack anymore, so i replaced my VERY ORIGINAL launchgta4.exe with the crack, and put in the retail disk to play. So, maybe you guys can try to. 1) Do a fresh install of GTA4 2) Make a backup of launchgta4.exe BEFORE any updates 3) Apply 1.01 and 1.02 patch 4) Replace the launchgta4.exe with your original launchgta4.exe from the retail disk 5) See if it works It works for me as. I couldn't get the computers to work as well. Now it works perfectly. why this is bogus? read here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...st&p=1058904920 the launchgta4 executeable is untouched by both of the patches and why on earth did r* not came up with this keen idea to piss off the non legit users with patch 1.0.1 u ask? cuz they didn't with patch 1.0.2 too... and btw patches are always incremental so applying patch 1 before patch 2 just shows u'r intellect. If you have a legitimate copy of GTA IV PC and you are still experiencing the issue, please make sure you are not using a cracked launcher (ie. the "no disc" launcher). I (no comments needed) did the usual install approuch with just applying patch 1.0.2 and after that (the retail dude would just activate the product) launchgta4.exe was replaced. it measured the same size as u mentioned. i really fail to see the crack tangent. (I bought the retail discs!), without any crack. this is definitely a bug with patch 2 (Title Update 1.0.2.0). bug that does not let you play the game! you can't do the first mission with this bug! copperwire93- I again recommand you to use the new GTAIV.exe version 1.0.2.0 or uninstall the game, and install patch 1, don't install the second patch untill the bug will be fixed. BUT don't ever use the second patch with the old 1.0.0.0 GTAIV.exe which is the main file of GTA IV like you did, if you do that, you will experience a lot of problems! As for me, there is no doubt that it is the crack's problem So you were using a crack ( 1911 or fedors) and the computers in game were not working, and now that you have replaced all the original files,and are using the dvd, the game works fine? The reason I ask is I left my discs at my brothers house and have been forced to crack the game. f*ck!!!! I even tried to mount a mini-image, and that did not work! I even resorted to cracks, none worked either. My GTAIV.exe is 1.0.2.0 (see proof below and I download patch from http://www.rockstargames.com/support/IV/PC/patch/index.html) Only problem I see from 2nd patch is ammo-counter on left top screen missing but when I restart my com It comes back so not a big deal. so this internet cafe bug occur to some guy.
