AK47-Maximus
Is there is a difference between high textures and medium ? because I dont see any difference between the two.
jesushumper
There's about teh same difference between low and medium. I can certainly tell the difference... not so much in road and building textures, but quite noticable on character and signage textures.

SlingShotUK
Right, I take it all back!! I loaded up the game tonight and it's run super smooth for the past 4 hours - no stuttering or anything. The FPS is definetly improved as everything feels slicker. I don't know what happened when I first applied the patch as the stuttering was awful on both times I loaded up the game. All I can think of is that maybe the game needed to be restarted after playing with the settings abit (lowering view distance etc). Either that or my CPU was getting too hot and was stepping itself down perhaps. Either way, the patch appears to be working nicely. Very impressed! Now once modding is back on the cards (I hear xliveless has already been sorted) this really will be the best version of the game yet.. The only problem I do have with the patch is that now the cutscenes are quite juddery - everything else in game is smooth though. Weird. bricklayer
The only thing it changed for me is that now my hack for mouse button 2 (autohotkey + uberoptions) no longer works because they added another function to the default mouse 2 control "melee lock on". So now when I hit mouse 2, he walks forward but he also pulls up the gun now making it impossible to do anything (including running) else but shoot. I had shelved this a few weeks back and dusted it off to see if SLI had been fixed (so I can play at native res med/low without slideshowing). So not only does SLI still not work (future proofed?), but it also broke my controls *throws hands up in frustration*. If this wasn't GTA I would have given up long ago, but alas - I have still given up. I couldn't live with medium textures .

I play at 1680x945 and see a big difference. If you play at anythign close to that and cun;'t see teh difference, you're blind. .. or your some of you video driver settings are low to begin with. Everything is very sharp and clear. Unfortunatly i only have 512mb vram so I'm limited.. which is a chame because at High textures i still get good performance.. just major pop-in

holdenrulz
AHEM.. I am using a legit copy with DVD and I am have computer problems, besides the autoloader shouldn't have anything to do breaking a gameplay feature after patching, the fact that for some people it fixed it and others it doesn't has nothing to do with piracy considering the issue go much deeper than that, As for the piracy issue it should be dropped as it is not relevant to the topic, As for me the patch seems to have given me longer before the game randomly becomes unplayable and I've lost the ability to use the computers in both cafe's and safehouse, but I'm more annoyed at this lagging the game seems to do at random where the screen will freeze for between 1&5 seconds and work for .5 seconds before repeating requiring a process kill to quit as it applies in menus as well. (times are estimated) Has anyone else had the patch fix this?
