Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Observe and Report release date: April 10th, 2009 That's right, more Seth Rogen people. This motherf*cker just can't stop, won't stop, nuh uh. He's got another film coming to a theatre near us in the near future. And this one is said to be a 'dark comedy', directed by Foot Fist Way director Jody Hill. (Watch Foot Fist Way, it's hilarious) Rogen plays...a mall cop? Yup, f*ck off Paul Blart. At the Forest Ridge Mall, head of security Ronnie Barnhardt patrols his jurisdiction with an iron fist, combating skateboarders, shoplifters and the occasional unruly customer while dreaming of the day when he can swap his flashlight for a badge and a gun. His delusions of grandeur are put to the test when the mall is struck by a flasher. Driven to protect and serve the mall and its patrons, Ronnie seizes the opportunity to showcase his underappreciated law enforcement talents on a grand scale, hoping his solution of this crime will earn a coveted spot at the police academy and the heart of his elusive dream girl Brandi, the hot make-up counter clerk who won't give him the time of day. But his single-minded pursuit of glory launches a turf war with the equally competitive Detective Harrison of the Conway Police, and Ronnie is confronted with the challenge of not only catching the flasher, but getting him before the real cops do. The film stars Seth Rogen as Ronnie, Michael Pena as Dennis, Anna Farris as Brandi, and Ray Liotta as Detective Harrison. IMDB Page
Vanilla Shake
Seth Rogen beating the sh*t out of people again, but this time as a mall cop? Awesome. And it's got Ray Liotta. Paul Blart just got bitchslapped. TC718 / <629 / CF5
Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
You take the cake Shake. ... You are the resident Rogen fan around here. I can bet you'll be seeing this. Me, I look foward to seeing Rogen and Pena together. And Liotta is just the icing.
Machida
I think of Seth Rogen as a fantastic writer but when it come to movies I see him in, I tend to feel as if I've seen it before. This one doesn't grab me by the bollocks either. Edited January 22, 2009 by Machida
Randall Flagg
Thought he was great in Superbad and Pineapple Express. I might see it, just for Ray.
Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
when it come to movies I see him in, I tend to feel as if I've seen it before. Well he's carved that dry, witty, improv niche out for himself, and he sticks to it dearly. I don't have a problem with it, cuz it works frankly. outcest
i stand by my mall cop comment, and i'm a little wary...but i'm also inexplicably drawn to a film described as a comedic Taxi Driver...and of course i've been a Rogen fanboy for years. dark comedy is always preferable to not-so-dark comedy. should be a good 'un. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Red Band Trailer I went straight for this one, didn't even bother with the regular. Thanks Shake, this sh*t definitely looks like a dark comedy. I now see the comedic Taxi Driver Rogen alluded to. And it has Danny McBride and Aziz Anzari doing little parts, which is awesome. "My dick is brown you dumb motherf*cker!"
outcest
oh what in the f*ck? this looks amazing! definitely not just another Rogen comedy in the likes of Forty and Knocked Up...totally looks like its own thing, a different type of film...and it looks righteous. the trailer was well done...that part where he imaginary-shoots his mother and then laughs was f*ckin sweet...and the soundtrack! sh*t... now i'm excited. Vanilla Shake
Bump. Just saw it tonight. f*cking amazing. It's made it to my top 5 all time favorite movies list. I was laughing my balls off the entire time. This may be Seth's best movie yet. Plus it's got a pretty killer soundtrack. Yeah, I highly recommend it. By far my favorite film of the year. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
You do love the Seth movies man. I gotta say the more I see the trailers, the more I want to check this out. Michael Pena looks so f*cking funny.
Vercetti21
I saw it last night. To be honest, I didn't really like it at first. There were a few good laughs here or there, but mostly a bit mediocre. The ending, however, makes the movie. Laughed my ass off the last 10 minutes and came out of the theater in tears (of laughter, of course). I probably would have passed it off as an average Rogan film if it hadn't been for that. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Yeah, dark comedies can be like that. Like how people hated Cable Guy, but I ended up laughing my ass off throughout. It depends on the viewer. I'd probably end up liking it.
SaintJimmy
I watched it last night/this morning. At first I didn't really enjoy it much - but it started to pick itself up soon after the sh*ttiness stopped. I really felt for the character Seth portrayed, and I loved the ending. This definitely is in my top 10 movies I've ever watched... the ending scene made me just so wowed, and then the ending comments provided a sh*tload of laughs for me. Killer soundtrack, the end scene plays "Where Is My Mind" by The Pixies (although it is a different version, which I quite liked), which is the same ending song as Fight Club. SaintJimmy goes into pussy mode But, I'm a man who's very connected with his music, and the music just helped me love the film even more. It was very emotional at points, and I just loved it.
