GTA_XP
You should play the game at medium settings. Detail distance and vehicle can be setted on 50 with no problems. The game looks a bit nice on res 1280x800 or 1280x1024. Sometimes I got the same problem as you have. I have P8400 and 9600M GT.

PacMaan
If its fine at first, but gets worse as you play then your gfx card might be overheating

GTA_XP
You can use Xliveless to disable all online sh*t like the Social and windows live crap. Its like the previous gtagames, wich saves and loads with the My document folder. Very useless to avoid the RSGC errors sh*t
