xAlanxEnglandx Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 I am a ps3 owner and just a little worried that microsoft have more power over sony, and with them buying the dlc, ime also worried that they could possibly buy the whole next gta to there system and there system only, I would think this would lead rockstar to be unfair and as GTA is such a big title, it could send xbox 360 sales higher. Do any of you think rockstar would give in, i hope microsoft dont buy the whole next gta exclusive to there system, they offered alot for dlc, i just think it would be unfair if they did that for the next gta thanks for feedback guys p.s i am not a ps3 fanboy, i respect both consoles and i think there both great gaming machines Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We just knew that Electronic Arts would like to buy all of Take 2, including the Grand Theft Auto franchise, to be included to their list of faltering game franchises, but Rockstar Games rejected EA two times. We all know that EA is the BIGGEST gaming conglomerate in the world. And yet Rockstar rejected their offer. Why? Because they would not gamble with EA and will not be stupid to lose one of their three money-making games (the other two being the franchises Midnight Club and Manhunt). Exactly. They will make more money releasing it on both and have more fans who will purchase more when it is released on multiple consoles/PC. Even if they did, they would have to pay a lot of money and I'm sure Rockstar would make a game for all us PS3/PC players out there to play too. Nobody's doing it in this topic yet, but I just want to say it now before anyone starts it, since topics of this nature have turned into that sort of wank before. Onward. I don't think the question is being posed as whether Microsoft will deal with Rockstar to make it exclusive to 360, but whether it could be because the PS3 is not selling as well. In any case, I could see at least one more GTA release going to PS3 as we see whether it bounces back or not. Don't count out Sony. I've read the PS3 price could drop to $300 US which is no longer that expensive for a console. If it can compete in price with the 360, the 360's performance issues both real and perceived could be a game-changer. This console generation's sales war is far from over. One also wonders how long before the next GTA on the Wii. That's probably where the most likely exclusive release for GTA would go. The Wii has a one-of-a-kind control scheme, something that may not translate to 360 or PS3. If Chinatown Wars is a hit, there's no reason to see why Rockstar wouldn't try to make a mark on the console that's kicking both Microsoft and Sony's ass. Lets face it the PS3is vasltey superior to the 360 . Just look at what could have been if Rockstar stuck solo with PS3 100 percent blueray and not proted over to a DVD9 the game could be incredible. I for one am still feeling burned over the news the DLC will be exclusive to the 360 Really what does the 360 have going for it? Halo? ya right what an over rated pos Thank god Final Fantasy 13 is on blue ray and the quality will not be sacrificed to port it to the 360. Isn't M$ making a new Xbox or something? Well, Nintendo said they'll be making a new console soon. Perhaps it'll be more powerful than the current generation? Personally, I think it'll be on par with a lower-average PC of today. A new Xbox or Playstation won't be out for a couple years at least. I doubt Rockstar would gamble their profits and fans so much as to make their next game exclusive to one platform. It's always been on 2-3 systems for each game. The original GTA's were on PC, PS1, and I think Dreamcast (correct me if I'm wrong). GTA III through GTA San Andreas were all on PC, Xbox, and PS2. LCS and VCS were both on PSP & PS2, and GTA IV was on 360, PS3, and PS3. Chinatown Wars and GTA Advance are the only games in the series that I can think of that have been exclusive to one handheld system. In short, no, it would be a foolish and ultimately game-destroying decision if they made a game exclusive to one major platform. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This is partly why I wouldn't expect to see an exclusive release for the major non-handheld consoles, aside from this DLC for 360. Isn't M$ making a new Xbox or something? You do realise the PS3 has less RAM which makes those things usless. The PS3 can't do anything the Xbox can't. If anything it would be an xbox exclusive because M$ has the money to do it. Even though that would be ridiculous. It's not about being loyal. If it's about being loyal, then R* should release ALL future GTAs for PC and Xboxes and PC and Xboxes ONLY, considering it was a game on a Microsoft system anyway. Sony sucked at this generation, you couldn't blame Rockstar for supporting the DS and the 360, it's business. You wouldn't want to put too many stakes in a sinking ship. R* still released GTA IV for PS3, so don't bother to even whine, R* has done enough justice to all of you Sony system owners, even when it's a jaded system. So why complain? If Microsoft was so successful, then why did they pay 50 mil for DLC? R* made ALOT of money from the PS2 GTA's If there was no PS2, Microsoft wouldnt have made an Xbox If there was no PS2, R* wouldnt have all the fame now So you can go cry to your sh*tbox 360!! People would just re-create the same topics and lock it over and over (I'm guilty...). OT: Microsoft isn't a bad guy, it's NOT EVEN a guy. No, just kidding. Seriously, why would Rockstar give Microsoft the bias rights for making a GTA exclusive? Doing that will just put GTA a LEAP backwards from it's competitors. Only the Wii console hadn't felt the GTA thrill, because it's software deficiency and inferiority (which is specification-ally true). But that's not the thing. Meh. Actually more like 1 and a half times as much because twice as many people have the ps3 compared to the 360. I think that the next gta game will be released for both systems simultaneously. Then, for the next game, it will be a timed exclusive for the 360. Meaning 360 gets it first, then the ps3 later. This is because Microsoft will be flush with money (so they will pay rockstar off), will have sold substantally more consoles because they will continue to have an amazing game library. Also, because so many more people have the 360, their friends (who don't have one) will want to get it because their friends have it. That's what made me get the 360. Over 100 people in my school have a 360, and less than 10 have a ps3, so do the math. And for the people who say that the 360 is holding down the franchise because of lack of space, well you're wrong. They could release part of the game on the disk, and have a download token inside the game case to download the rest. And, the ps3 was the one who held back gta 4, literally. A rockstar rep said that the reason the game was delayed was because of the ps3 being harder to develop on (in a mtv interview somewhere). So, the game would have released in october, but no. I think that pretty much should stop the fanboy war. I'm not a fanboy or anything, but that's just what I think, and my predictions are pretty accurate.
