Because this is not an anti rockstar forum. We're not here to sh*t on rockstar, we are here to applaud them. If you have something negative to say, don't say it here, simple as that, I suppose. No, your far from correct. Your allowed to report problems you have with the game here, discuss possible solutions, etc. Saying something negative is allowed, its when the same thing is said in a couple 100 posts and certain individuals (trolls) constantly keep posting the same thing just with the intention of wasting moderators time that most of us here will get pissed off with them. No, I'm not wrong, and neither are you It's negative sh*t that does not belong here - problems with the game are one thing, but rampant idiocy is another, wouldn't you agree? One thing that bothers me with the game is that it feels like stuff is missing, for example the dates at bars, restaurants, etc should have atleast some brief ingame cutscenes. I bet there is alot of stuff R* werent able to do because they ran out of space on the xbox 360... You cant go inside split sides nor comrades bar and not even all the mission specific interiors get unlocked, the only night club in the game doesnt even have an interior.. They could have improved the game a little to make it more appealing to those who already played it on the consoles.. who cares about a video editor? Optimisation, few adjustable graphic settings, excessive bloat and little support... support could turn things around, maybe the hope that the expantions will make it to the PC somewhere in the future would help the game too.. You seem to have a somewhat skewed, blatantly sycophantic view. This is not a "Praise everything R* do!" forum - it's a forum that invites users to discuss their views (from whatever angle) and proffer ideas and suggestions to further enjoyment of the game. Yes, there are those who tend to harp on about the negative, just as there are those (yourself and others, FWIW) who insist that the game is near-perfect, and that those who encounter problems only have themselves to blame. ZERO hype. * unfinished/untested game Yeah, I 'm really looking forward their next PC release. In the meantime I might go and get me Bully, as to enhance my otherwise positive R* experience. Since getting money from selling titles on PC is hard due to a lot of piracy and expensive hardware (yes, piracy ISN'T the only factor), we should be//have to be supportive of them! More or less the same as above is valid, but with an addon - when you take into consideration the (quality*functionality*reliability*game price)/(hardware price) quotient, it becomes painfully obvious PC is not that expensive. For people who need such a device. Beside, it has been proven a number of times there are a lot of more or less capable machines out there. And with this we're back on piracy. I know GTA:IV had some bumps upon launch, but admit it! Says you, I have installed GTA 4 on both my PC's one is a fairly low end core2duo with a crappy 8600gt. I have been playing this game solidly for 7 - 8 hours EVERY day since it's release. I am enjoying GTA 4 so much on the PC I haven't touched another game so far this year and this is coming from someone that bought the game on the sh*tbox 360. The PC is infinitely better than the 360 version but hey no one wants to hear that do they ? No they just want to bitch and whine all the time. Oh and if you think it is something to celebrate that the collective bitching and whining may mean an end to the GTA franchise on the PC then why in gods name are you in the PC section of a GTA fansite ? Surely if you no longer have any interest (and it seems like it since you spend a lot of time gloating) you shouldn't really be bothering with this site either. The OP is right about me, I am angry because I really want to enjoy the game and I cannot due to piss poor performance. I have not given up hope tho as many have. Just need patience. Actually i would say gamespot and ign etc are the ones that have NEVER touched GTA 4 on the PC and they are just regurgitating second hand crap they have heard others say. They had already given gta a high 9 before they had even opened the box. Maybe you should try reading the reviews instead of living in denial. No AA No dedicated server support No anticheat Horrible performance. I couldnt even be f*cked going on. Any website or magazing that gives this over a 6 out of 10 isnt worth the paper its written on plain and simple. Its was released in 2008 not 1998 this sh*t isnt good enough anymore. GFX cards, in an ideal world, are to be upgraded and tossed out as fast as you buy new games. Sure, there are MANY on here who I can predict will bitch and moan about my post and post books-worth of words trying to prove me wrong, but I don't care anymore, I see the value of arguing with kids (not saying you are, and not saying you personally will argue this point) is nil. GFX card is put in an expansion slot because it is a very temporary component. They can change with the night, not only that, but they need to keep up with game makers. And by the way, my PC could be considered 3 years old easy (except for my getting-old-now HD3850 which is new compared to the rest) and it runs IV fine, but I get lockups randomly these days, and not just in IV, so I think my PSU is dying (didn't happen til I added this first ever powered card, but then, it's also a PCIe card bridged to AGP on a VIA chipset ) \Hey, while I'm here, maybe someone can shoot me a PM: Up until today, underclocking my ram to half speed (266mhz) gave me zero lockups. vivecs Posted January 23, 2009 Share Posted January 23, 2009 hi, i agree with ur post, gta4 is the best game i've ever played since gta:sa. i enjoyed it more than fallout 3 and any other game released in 2008. I have an old processor so my performance is not really good. I got like 10-25 fps (mostly below 15), but the motion blur tweak make it easier for me to enjoy the game. Still it would be great if rockstar could release a patch that make the gameplay a bit smoother. Especially for people who couldn't afford to get an upgrade for their pc. I spent my saving that i actually gonna use to buy a new mobo and processor to buy this game, since my parent don't like the idea of me buying a new pc just for gaming Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Didn't you feel bored after story complete? I just forget about this game a week ago, and now having fun with Mirror's Edge. I hope they add more fun stuff rather than this realism. I guess they just became some Money from Intel and NVidia. I just can´t explain the bad performance on my 5000+ which is capable to run everything else really great. That CPU + the HD3850 is capable to do more in GTA IV then running it at 15-20 FPS on Medium with all the other settings put to console Values (20,10,33,0). I know that GTA IV is NOT Crysis becuase "oh my god how many action is going out there on the street" ...but if my PC can run EVERYTHING else on Full Details smooth than something IS very wrong optimised in that game and that is a FACT. I am not expecting to run the Game at the highest settings with good FPS on my PC. But at those settings mentioned above it should run good at about 30 FPS all the time. They failed so hard, while we who bought the game in a store (or steam etc.) can't play online and some people have issues. Those who can play Multiplayer should be very grateful for it. I'm from an unsupported country and thanks to GFWL I can't play. This is my only problem with GTA, but this sucks big time. Im on e8400 @ 3ghz 8800gt 512, 1066 ddr2 4gb W7 and vista 64. Im on average 40fps, just tweaked the far clip to 1000. Draw + detail distance 30. Medium textures. My computer is good but far from top, and on medium settings its running very stable, only problem is eventually some lags but its pretty ok. If you have c2d 1.8 or the like, 8600 , 8500, it will perform below 30 fps, which i dont consider good enough. Even if the recommended settings are above what R* says, it will even allow to play on avg 30 fps, which is ok. If you need more speed, buy hardware.
