Guanxi
I don't get why 3rd/1st person perspectives are such as big deal in video games. FPS especially. The changes in core gameplay with GTA or really any other game would be so minimal you'd barely notice any difference within 5 mins. There's only two things that would change; the over-the-shoulder-aiming and the driving perspective. The housers' have stated somewhere (I forget) that GTA is third person because it is told in 3rd person. You are not playing yourself, you are observing Niko's story, it's his story not yours. If it was your story it would be from your perspective. I personally feel 3rd person used in GTA III because there was so little detail on the textures that the ugliness would have been even more apparent. But also because it's meant to replicate the feel of a film rather than a video game and i've never seen a film entirely from the perspective of a moving camera lens. It would feel tacky to keep switching between 1st person and 3rd person-cinematic cutscenes, which often characterize video games and it just feels lame. klintmane
Well I'd like both...I'd like switching between both 1st and 3rd person -------JUST my opinion mabye other people may not like it but curiosity never does any harm...Instead it created the 'EVOLUTION' Edited March 5, 2009 by klintmane
Mikeol1987
I would welcome a nicely done FPS view. in and out of cars. I'd like to see the dash and wheel etc etc. On foot I'd like the weapons to look good enough so that when you switched to FPS it didn't look low-res. I don't think a top down view would work anymore, not with the complex network of overhead railways, subways and skyscrapers in the latest games. But to go to a [email protected] and actually play GTA1 would be awesome! (remember in GTA3 [email protected] had gta1 screens) RIP Rockstar Games 1998 - 2021

Here is gameplay of the game "Quantum of Solace". Fast foward to 2:17 for cover system... I have this on PS2, which is 3rd person only, but, the cover system in 3rd person is awesome as.. Another good concept is recharable health, you have little heath, but it recharges... See the transfer from 3PS to FPS is soooo smoooth.. Well I'd like both...I'd like switching between both 1st and 3rd person I bet you play QOS.
Daragh017
i think a FPS would just ruin the enjoyment of GTA games, because if you wanted to do things like flying out of helicopters and jump off bikes and cars and stuff you wouldn't be able to see the result of what would happen to the playable character. Slamman
Bad Idea, agreed. I basically have NO love for that genre of gaming, there's far too many based on PC platforming. Most console games aren't FPS, or derive from PC ones. That's my feeling. Maybe there's something about those first PC 3D games or the control via keyboard and mouse, but you get several improved 3rdperson cam angles now, what's not to love!? BigAmericanTitties
1. it jsut woudlnt have GTA's feel, and fans might reject it 2. as people have said, there arnet really any successfull FPS-sandbox games 3. you'd need an incredible amount of detail from that prespective
junkpile
having the option (like in the latest hitman games) to switch between 3rd person and 1st person view would be okay, but nothing i desperately wanna see.
Semaj Nodnarb
I really would like the option for first person. It would be fun to fool around with and it would add challenge to the game. I don't see why it couldn't be an option. You don't have to use it.
Ultraussie
I think it would be good as an option, and you could choose in the FPS mode either: When you cover, get run over, thrown from an explosion or jump off an building etc, you go to 3rd person OR You stay in FPS. I would think it be cool to see your character getting blown up from the eyeveiw, it would go all over!! If its gonna be a FPS it gotta have 3rd person cover. MURRDAN
Although I hate the idea of a GTA game being COMPLETELY in first person, it would not be a bad idea to make a different camera angle in first person.
