sminem
But if R* manage to use their RAGE engine as well as enabling the characters to walk around inside large vehicles without rag dolling, then i think it would be a good feature to the game. Yeah, I've been praying for that feature everyday lol. As for the AC-130 thing it could work but then people would say it was copying MW2. Perhaps some sort of smaller or older gunship would be more acceptable such as the Douglas AC-47 Spooky.

Oh yes, she is a beauty and i believe it would make a better, less complicated gunship then the AC-130. It's not too big but not too small either and would be very easy to control. XTREME0235. Exactly the point I was trying to make it's not a complicated as you said as the AC-130 is. And don't get me wrong it is still a huge gunship but it is still smaller and of course older which sometimes is better.
K^2
Perhaps some sort of smaller or older gunship would be more acceptable such as the Douglas AC-47 Spooky. I do like that suggestion. And we already sort of have it in the game. Nevada from San Andreas is made after DC-3, which is the civilian version of the C-47, from which the AC-47 is derived. So basically, it'd be a heavily armed version of Nevada. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns. Very true, but if I remember correctly the Nevada was very slow and it was easily destroyed as were all vehicles in the III era. Even though it's basically a heavily armed version of the Nevada as you said above it's still a gunship. Nevada (San Andreas)
K^2
It wasn't that slow. It appeared slow because of its size. The scaled speed was just right for it, at least, in comparison to the other planes. The actual flight characteristics of DC-3 and AC-47 are virtually identical. Same cruise performance, same top speed, roughly the same weight. So you'd still be basically getting a Nevada with guns. Not that I wouldn't want to see Nevada with guns. It'd be an interesting plane. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

In my opinion any type of flying vehicle would be great in V so long as we're able to fly it. Edit: This topic should be bumped to the top of the list. The people's voice must be heard! uNi
Another thing that I hope that both physics and the aircrafts will introduce is being able to transport vehicles in cargo-bays. It's possible to do it in SA, as I did (@0:57) but the plane ends up exploding since the vehicle inside with no actor became too unstable.
K^2
I was able to transport cars on AT400. It takes a LOT of practice. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

K^2
I don't remember, tbh. I have both PS2 and PC version. Could have been either of these two. Oh, and for these who haven't figured it out, the car was riding on the wing. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns. Bobby_Williams
We should have a major selection of aircraft including: a340 737 747 a380 777 767 757 Learjet md-11 Cessna Etc. -------------------------------------------------------------- And these aircraft should have throttle,it doesnt matter about angle of attack, you still need to control speed, and they should include reverse thrust also. You can add a Cabin too. And make sure to add flaps ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please look into my request,Because you should make this GTA better. ----------------------------------------------------------------
sminem
Oh, and for these who haven't figured it out, the car was riding on the wing. Damn, I don't mean to brag but I'm a pretty decent pilot myself and I've never really attempted anything like that before I guess I should try. Anyways back on topic I'm sure this is going to bring up much discussion flares. Most of us here remember Area 69 and the Aircraft carrier with the S.A.M sites my question is if there are S.A.M. sites or any other type of guided missiles in V would flares be a good idea. If I remember right the Hydra in SA had flares that worked pretty decently when you were being chased by the missiles. You can add a Cabin too. And make sure to add flaps I agree, we definitely need a cabin or at least a few rows of seats.
K^2
I was thinking about flaps. Would it be better to have them controlled separately? Like tap R3 to cycle flaps, hold R3 to extend/retract landing gear. Or have them simply tied to landing gear? If landing gear is extended in flight, extend flaps to landing position. Once on the ground, they retract to takeoff position, and retract to clean after you take off again, and retract gear. I really don't think we need 7 different airliners in the game, though. Wait how the heck u get the car inside the plane??? We're not on that topic anymore but he didn't get it inside he had it on the wing. I tried that today by the way it was awesome ! Unfortunately when I landed at Verdant Meadows it fell of the wing it was very frustrating lol Edited August 19, 2010 by gameboybp
GTAOCD
I agree with the forced landing by fighter pilots thing of the OP. Just like in Executive Decision (1996).

Yeah, that is a good idea but I also like the idea of military jets trying to blast you out of the sky similar to what they did in SA after 5 stars. Bobby_Williams
Well, there could be flight training IF you want it,but it should be hard to break into the air field and steal an airplane, because aircraft does not have keys. And some aircraft may not be able to steal due to: broke down,no fuel, etc. And when you enter the airport and you dont have a pilots license, you should no tbe automaticly wanted until you get caught. Maybe you can find or steal a pilots uniform and get away with it. Also the airfield should have interior, with aircraft at gates, where you can enter/exit an aircraft at a gate. That would also make it harder to steal aircraft (especially large ones.) because a learjet can have stairs that you can walk up and try to open a door. And a larger jet should be able to be stolen from the gate, but its a high risk you'll be getting caught. ALSO: You should be able to enter the airport and press a button at an office to go on duty, then you so to an assigned gate, load passengers while fueling, and fly them to the destination,Wind, rain, etc should also effect the aircraft during flight. AndrewD92
I also like your ideas and totally agree that the next GTA game needs more plane action. You could fly little jet planes and light air crafts in San Andres and I really enjoyed them. Technology has improved since that game was released so its not as if it cant be done. I think the only reason planes were not flyable in IV is because it is set in Liberty City - a parody of New York City and they would have sick idiots flying them into buildings and it would generate bad press for the game.
uNi
You can do that in SA, there's a lot of buildings to play around with. I think it's more about the map size, layout and streaming than anything else.
K^2
There are a lot of airplanes in SA that fly a lot slower than Annihilator. Or at least, they should, if things are to scale. So streaming and city size aren't issues at all. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns. uNi
I'm not saying I agree with it. They could've of added the Dodo and the Skimmer at least. Edited August 20, 2010 by uni
sminem
They could've of added the Dodo and the Skimmer at least. I know right those planes could've easily accommodated to IV's map size. Hell the freaking Ghawar or the Shamal probably would've too.
