okei Posted January 21, 2009 Share Posted January 21, 2009 Is this normal on idle? How can I make it cooler without having to manually increase the fan speed? Does anybody recommend any PCI fans or anything like that? It can't be dust because I've only had this video card since around November and I've checked it for dust and there isn't any. Thanks. Cursed Posted January 21, 2009 Share Posted January 21, 2009 Graphics cards tend to run pretty hot, the 8600GT in one of my PCs idles at 80c, and it is fan cooled, with an 80mm exhaust fan and 120mm front one. I wouldn't worry. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Girish Posted January 21, 2009 Share Posted January 21, 2009 Is that the temperature while playing games or when idle? If it's while playing games, then you have no reason to worry. If it's the idle temperature, you still don't have to worry. Just make sure it does not shoot over 80C. That's when you need to be worried.
