PoliceManhunt MOD by HippieCommunist

---------------------------------------------------

 

inspired by the concept of Manhunt and The Running Man, i've made a very simple script to pass time Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif .

with this mod you get 1$ for each 6 BRIGHT wanted stars millisecond.

meaning that the cops must see you to be a potential threat for you to earn money.

another aspect is the economics of weapons as riskful a investment devil.gif

 

DOWNLOAD

 

-install any asiloader for gtaiv

-put asi file in gta dir

 

the rar contains 3 versions:

 

PoliceManhunt.asi - wanted level rise as usual

 

PoliceManhuntHARD.asi - wanted level rises slowly

 

PoliceManhuntEXTREME.asi - wanted level rises very slow (about 30 minuted to get 6 stars... with cheats! Oo)

 

USE ONLY ONE ASI FILE FROM THE ABOVE!!

 

have fun slaying swat for Ca$h!

*edit - oh sh*t i just remembered, wasnt there a mod where u open the bank doors... i can unite with this mod to rob a bank by being IN the vault with 6 stars!

might be a cool sub mission.

 

**edit - oh and add a backpack to store the cash in, and add a virtual counter of the cash the player gets ONLY if he gets away from the police radius!

 

what do you guys think of this idea?

So far I love this idea. But I think that you should continue to make it more running man-esque.

 

-Just police officers roaming the streets of LC.

 

-Change the police model to a gang model. Or several, or variations etc.

And try and put alot of emphasis on Melee combat.

 

-Always nighttime, and foggy (for a gloomy effect)

 

If you plan on working on this more...I see it getting big biggrin.gif

i wouldnt like the idea to restrict the weather or daytime or enemies.

 

it could be awesome if instead of cops the enemies could optionally be other type of peds (gangsters, mobsters, hookers, whatever, that use other weapons than the cops weapons) but maybe that's too complicated since the cop code is for cops. it makes no sense if a hooker would come out of a cop car....

 

i DO like the idea of getting money for being wanted. cookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gif for you, hippie, for pulling this off! smile.gif

 

i wonder how complicated u can make this, since it's a sweet idea.

 

i cant try your mod right now (must work. i suck. i know) but i will test it shortly.

here are MY ideas:

 

1) i would make it so u get a certain amount of dollars for being wanted at level 3 stars, more money at 4 , even more at 5 and the most at 6, so the more u are wanted - the more u get.

 

2) to balance it a lil maybe u can set the "money prise" so that if u play and survive for about 10 minutes than the money u should earn is roughly 500,000$. i think it's reasonable enough.

 

3) also 1$ for every millisecond is too fast. if there is a counter than it will be confusing and hard to follow if the counter will count SO fast. make the counter show a change in the digits every 1 second or so. that would probably be a jump of about a few thousand dollars.

 

4) also i would make it that by killing cops u also earn money.

if u kill a simple cop it's about 1000$,

kill a swat or FIB and its 4000$

destroy a swat vehicle and it's 2000$

by making u earn for killing cops than u encourage the player to get out of the car and not just drive around for hours and earn easy money.

 

...come to think of it, perhaps the money u earn by just surviving should be small. otherwise it will be too cheap to just drive around with a car and never really be in a bind.

 

something in that line.

 

5) and , of course, in the end of the battle, when u get killed - u get to see how much u could have earned.

 

if u escape than u really get that money.

 

what do u think, hippie?

it's possible to use the simple native trainer to set time and weather.

no need to restrict it.

hippie i just played the mod a bit so i can give a better opinion:

 

about my points

 

about point number 2)

the way the money rises seems fine for a 6 stars wanted level.

if it was possible to get money from 5 stars and less but slower than it would be nice too.

 

 

about point number 3)

i was wrong. the counter isnt confusing.

 

HOWEVER i think u should put a counter that counts from ZERO so u can keep track on how much money u have been earning since that particular run began. kind of to compare to your older runs.

in your way , hippie, u see the money u had PLUS the money u r earning at the moment. the fun thing is to say to yourself: "i got 12000 last time, now i have 11000 so i need 1000 more to break my record..."

 

about point number 4)

well, 1000$ or 4000$ is too much but perhaps a simple cop gives u 300$ and a swat\FIB worths 800$... that makes more sense...

and if u can make a "killed cop counter" than that's just making a great idea - awesome tounge.gif

 

 

about point number 5)

the most simple idea i can think of is that u only get the money if u get away from the cops alive. if u die than u can see how much money u could have earned on the counter BUT u dont get it.

this way the player will shoot cops for big cash AND will engage in a high profile chase so he can get away eventually and actually earn the money. it will mix the 2 great things about the police mechanics - shoot outs and chases.

 

 

i wonder if it's possible to make the money mechanism more ... umm... elaborate.

like u get the money u earned without the need to escape after every 10000$. if u die in the middle of getting to the next 10000$ u get nothing. if u escape than u get the amount of money u accomulated up to that point.

 

example:

if u start at 0, u kill and escape and earn 25000$ than u get killed. this means u will keep the 20000 (it's like passing 2 money check-points - at 10000 and at 20000) but lose the 5000 (since it's not a multiply of 10000$).

if u get 25000$ and escape than u get the full 25000$.

 

something like that.

perhaps its too complicated.

 

 

all in all i think the most important things are:

* to get money from killing cops so u will need to shoot a little as well.

 

* get the money only if u escape.

 

* start earning from 3 stars, albeit much less (so u will start this mini game earlier) and will be able to get a lil money and escape more easily with small cash. right now u dont get money from the first 90% of your effort. it's an annoying feeling for the player to "work" his way up the stars but get absolutely nothing for the first 5 stars.

 

but i love you for your effort, hippie. smile.gif

your mod can be a truly new thing to aim for in GTA IV. it's a new mini-game where ppl can actually have a point in killing ppl in free-roam and have some satisfaction with.

about your shootouts and chases i dont think this would suit the mod as it is inspired by The Running Man (which is an excellent movie).

I had a small idea - you start off in the prison, and can't leave until you earn so many thousand $ worth of kills.

BUT getting the money only if u escape is good only if u start getting the money early (at 3 stars and by killing cops). otherwise just getting 6 stars (in a legal way) is so hard that it will just frustrate ppl to make such an effort, get to 6 stars, survive for 20 seconds and die without getting a dime.

 

the way your mod is working right now doesnt un-balance the game since it only kicks in at 6 stars, which usually doesnt happen on it's own. u have to be really naughty for that to happen tounge.gif

BUT if u make the money start rolling by killing cops and at 3 stars than it WILL cause some un-balanced issues and so i think the mod should be activated by a key-combination. maybe pressing ctrl+shift+C (for "contract" or ... umm... c*nt... or whatever) and the mod can be toggled on or off.

this way u dont have to constantly be worried of the implications of the mod.

oh u think this mod will be used inside the game to go hand in hand with the game's balance?

 

i dont think modds are supposed to be a part of the game since ppl who would DL this mod probably DLed many others that make their game easier\harder.

 

i dont think this mod should function as a legit way of making money.

if ppl who use mods wanted money they would use another trainer. (...or races or jobs)

i dont think theres a need to make this mod into something that there are much better ways to achieve...

i think this mod will eventually be used as an equivalent of "the club" game - ppl who want to shoot cops and run away from them and actually have a goal\point in it. something to aspire to. some "score" to beat.

 

i think this game is missing mods that put a challenge\goal and a score so ppl who finished the SP or just want to have fun outside the story can get themselves occupied AND feel a sense of achievement.

 

for example - i play with the peds attacking back mod i created (thanks rebel_36). i take one body guard with me (vincible. not invincible) and I set a way-point for me on the other side of the island.

then me and my friend try to make it alive to that point only on foot, and get a certain amount of money on the way only by robbing ppl (shooting them and looting the dropped cash). naturally many times when i kill some ped for cash the rest of the street attack me back.

(also im using "never wanted" mode otherwise it's impossible.)

i also force myself to only regenerate health using vending machines, accidental ambulances that appear or hotdog stands.

and on top of that i only get a new body guard (in case my friend dies, and he does a lot) only every 200 dollars.

 

it's a mini game i set for myself cuz it has a purpose and it's hard.

if this mini-game i made up for myself was a part of a mod that actually put a structure to my attempts than i would be much happier, but i am no modder.

 

now everyone loves killing cops. if there was a cop-killed counter or money accumulated than ppl who loves shooting the police would not only get some money out of it but also get a sense of purpose.

 

if u r afraid of giving ppl too much money than set the amount u get when on 3 or 4 stars to much lower.

 

i tried using this mod of yours and almost never got to 6 stars (well, i should state i also modded my weapons so the AI is more accurate so it's much harder too), not to mention actually getting money out of it.

 

i hope u get to enhance your mod into something that can be taken as a game-of it's own. not a means to an end.

 

my 2 cents, hippie. u know i love u and appreciate what u r doing.

the thing i am looking forward the most from your mod is some way to track cop kills.

i am really surprised the stats dont show how many cops u kill. it only tracks time of last wanted chase. what a shame.

if it DID track cop kills than i would just write down the number of current cops killed and see how many i can rank up until i die and then try to beat the record.

but i can't. I CANT, DAMNIT! WHY DEAR GODS OF ROCKSTAR, WHY?

 

if your next version of the mod would include just a counter for cops i will be really happy for the time being. i need something that's hard to achieve (like killing a lot of ppl that try to kill u back) and a way to track a record to beat.

i am optimistic about your mod since judging by your history u really know what u r doing.

do u know of a mod that lets u ZERO your cash?

im looking for a way to make my cash ZERO. or a way to decrease the cash by pressing a button a few times. do u know of a trainer that does that?

Open up your weaponinfo.xml with notepad , and you can see that there's "max ammo" . Change the amount in all weapons to 9999 , save , run GTA IV , go to weapon shop , buy RPG (Rocket Launcher) and ammo for it. You will lose your money pretty quickly icon14.gif

not going to do that though. im looking for an easy way to zero my cash whenever i want without cheating and having so many rockets AND traveling all the way to a weapon shop.

 

i will want to zero my cash often and looking for a way (trainer?) that lets me type my amount of desired money (0, in that case) and have my money count go there.

 

the native trainer only ADDs money. sad.gif

Hey hippie I just thought of a cool idea, maybe not just for this mod, maybe for a variation on it -

 

(Two things - Cops are replaced with Gang Member models [reminiscent of manhunt] and alot of emphasis on Melee combat, with only being able to pick up a gun if you're lucky, and with only a few bullets)

 

It will be kinda like a storyline, with 'levels'.

There is a checkpoint at the prison, and you go to it to start the minigame.

You start out in the prison, and there are alot of guards trying to kill you.

Once you kill, say, $______ worth of guards, the prison unlocks.

Then you unlock alderney - and the bridges are locked. But once you get a certain amount of kills again, Algonquin unlocks. Then you have to continue to get more kills until Broker/Dukes unlocks, then you have to make it to a checkpoint at the airport, and the game is finished.

 

 

You don't understand how much that would f*cking ROCK if it could be done - I'm just not sure how scripting would work, and if it could shut the prison doors or lock/unlock the islands.

so if u found out how to track kills, can u take that into the mod?

make u actually earn something from killing cops? even if not money, just counted points, to help u keep track of how u r doing...?

 

or anyone else perhaps?

 

 

im trying to help with ideas so forgive me if my 2 cents actually doesnt worth even one cent tounge.gif:

 

if it's hard to track kills maybe u can track weapons that fall of your enemies...

getting money\points when someone who is an enemy drops a weapon...

 

OR

 

get points\money when u run over a fallen weapon. this way if u kill someone and u go over his dead body and collect his fallen weapon u get points\money. the bigger the weapon - the more points\money u earn...

 

this will encourage the players to kill AND leave their safe hiding place to go scavenge for points\money...

 

(or make it that ppl (peds or cops) with pistols also drop 15 bucks, and ppl with AKs or M4s drop 50 bucks). the result is the same...
