Passenger Drivebys in any Car

I`ve found out that you can do Passenger Drivebys in Vice City Stories, much like in San Andreas.

But its only possible with the Cheatdevice, I really hope I`m not the only one who`s still using it.

You need to activate the Enter any Car as Passenger Cheat:

 

#cheat Get in the Passenger seat of a car

if(buttons & CTRL_TRIANGLE && !pcar){

setchar(pplayer+0x894, 0x11);

setchar(pplayer+0x8B4, 0x18);}

 

Now enter a Car as a Passenger while beeing equipped with the Scorpion or the SMG

(it only works with those two, if you do it with the Tec-9 or the MP5 you won`t be able to shoot for some reason)

You then need to activate the Position Reset Cheat:

 

#cheat Position Reset

sethex(0x098B52F4, 00);

 

When you activate it you kinda "leave" your car.You must disable the Position Reset Cheat now and Press R+Down to enter Freeaim Mode.

 

It should look like this:

 

 

Just fire one shoot to get the camera working right.

You will be in Driveby Mode exactly like it was in the Mission "Jive Drive"

 

Most of the Time the Car will stop driving after you`ve entered it, just make it indestructible and blow up a nearby car to scare your driver and make him move again.

 

 

 

By the way if you do this on a bike you can control the bike and fire in Freeaim Mode at the same time, just like the Bike Cops in San Andreas did with their Pistols

 

 

 

Try to get a Wanted Level in Driveby Mode for some extra action !

Use this against the Polices Spike Stripes:

 

#cheat indeflatable tires

setshort(pcar+0x3b6, 0, 0);

setshort(pcar+0x434, 0);

I`m glad you like it. Actually I knew those things for a quite long time now. But I never bothered posting them here, because the Cheatdevice Community is pretty much dead and nobody seemed to care about Vice City Stories anymore. Its nice to see, that there`s still interest in cheating this game. But to answer your question I`m gonna try to do it, because it should be possible (Lance for example did driveby shootings when he was following you in some missions).

Stay tuned for more Cheats and Tricks, theres a lot more I`m working on I`ve not told anybody about yet. I`m going to post some cool Ped AI Stuff sometime later

 

Some examples:

 

Give any Ped any Weapon,

make your own Bodyguard (will be a modified version of Durka Durka Mahns make Ped follow you Cheat)

make someone drive you around,

make Caddys drive around on Leaf Links(which they normally never do for some reason),

more Bagages driving around at Escobar Int. Airport (I know it`s nothing big but maybe you want to know anyways)

make ped do a specific action like attack someone else and much more.

maybe (If I can sort out some errors which make it glitchy at the moment) make your own Heli driver fly you around the City

 

I really hope to get people interested in the Cheatdevice again because it has so much potential to make this game enjoyable again.

It doesn`t deserve to die.

 

I wish Rockstar would decide to create another GTA Game for the PSP.

Chinatown Wars will be another awesome GTA Title for sure, but for me it will never be a replacement for the Stories Games...

Don`t want to offend the fans of Chinatown Wars, but I`m the kind of person who likes to modify/costumize his favourite game to make things possible i would like to see in the game which the developers did not include on their own. This way I can still experience new ways of playing my game even after i`ve officially completed it. It adds more replay value.

And I doubt that something like Cheatdevice is going to happen for Chinatown Wars...

(Especially because Edison Carter doesn`t seem to be around anymore)

It`s really easy to install it just go to www.cheatdevice.com download the Vice City Stories Cheatdevice V2.4 from there and use the Autoinstaller includet in the package you downloaded.

In case you want to install it yourself without the autoinstaller look at the Tutorial Topic called Running VCS Cheatdevice on Firmware 3.03 OE-C at the top of the Vice City Stories Section

I know what your problem is. You don`t have a Costum Firmware installed on your psp. If you tell me which Firmware you are using and if you have a Slim PSP or a Phat one (the old one) I can tell you how to install one. To find out what Firmware version you have go to settings in your psp`s menu and press down till you see system settings now choose this and go down to system information, there you can read your current system software(Firmware) version. I hope I can help you.

I know what your problem is. You don`t have a Costum Firmware installed on your psp. If you tell me which Firmware you are using and if you have a Slim PSP or a Phat one (the old one) I can tell you how to install one. To find out what Firmware you have

go to settings in your psp`s menu and press down till you see system settings now choose this and go down to system information, there you can read your current system software(Firmware) version. I hope I can help you.

But there are two problems, first you will need a battery pack from the old Phat PSP in order to do this.

If you are lucky you might know someone who has one of the old PSPs so you could use his battery pack.

 

the second problem is that you need to be very careful if your going to install Custom Firmware, even with the auto installer because if your psp`s battery is on low power and the psp turns off while you are installing the new firmware it might brick, that means you wont be able to use it anymore. So if your going to do this make shure you have your psp battery is fully loadet before you start to install.

 

If you never before did something like this and you don`t want to risk damage on your PSp it might be better to search the internet for some Console-hacking shop which can do it for you if you look for console modding/hacking with google you should definately find somthing...

 

I`m really sorry if this doesn`t help you, but unfortunately there is no other possibility to use Cheatdevice on a Slim PSP

thats why I`m lucky to own one of the old Phats.

Ok with a Phat Battery there should be absolutely no problem with upgrading your Firmware.

Simply follow the steps of the Tutorial I posted a link to above.

 

Maybe take a look at Ebay, you can get a battery there for very cheap prices, because most people have the slim psp now and don`t need the old batterys anymore.

Good luck with the battery, if you get one and have any questions about installing Custom Firmware or how tho use the Cheatdevice just ask me. I´m glad to help you, so you can enjoy this awesome little programm and my cheats aswell...

The damnedest thing happened, the Position Reset doesn't work for me anymore. The first type I tried doing drive-by's with this method, everything went smoothly but now when I enable the Get in the Passenger seat of a car and enable the Position Reset, nothing happens anymore.
