baptiste
Niiiice. Concept art look's great. I'm glad their showing sign of progress, this seems like it's gonna be a very innovative game. I think the storyline here is going to be great as well. In what context would water be so important? Usually you could always find water, especially in a city, shop's would have load's in stock, usually not every water source would be compromised. It's never really been an issue in most games/film's. Especially after only 6 day's. I mean, what happened? Jean Capel
I'm expecting it probably is tied into the disaster in some way, although it looked a bit like an earthquake so I'm a bit confused on that aspect of things. I mean, since when do earthquakes taint a city the size of NYC entire water supply?
Machida
I'd imagie panic fuelled looting will have a lot to do with the scarcity of water in the game. I'd be more concerned as to why no one in the trailer seems to be able to move their mouth though (?). I'm assuming the dialogue was added in later and it's not the case of an earthquake hitting an entire city full of really kick arse ventriloquists. darthYENIK
If I'm not mistaken, Manhattan's water supply has to cross the rivers to get to the island. If the quake is big enough, those water pipes would break and let river water in. I don't know if you know this but the Hudson and East rivers are fairly notorious for being polluted, in other words, not the kind of water you would want to drink. Jean Capel
Ah, so the water pipes burst/looting could explain the scarcity of the water. Nice job guys!
keithmii2
But what about the rest of America? You'd expect them to get plenty of aid in form of water and packages from relief agencies. The main character didn't seem too attached to the bottle he had either.
Jean Capel
Maybe they can't get in for some reason by land, and any attempts by air are quickly looted to death, or destroyed or cut off.

D- Ice
Just some page I sporadicly found on wikipedia. Hopefully has some new info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Alive Apparantly it's in Chicago and for some reason the government doesn't aend any rescue teams or anything. I'm a bit optimistic about the near-post-apocalyptic setting, as cotrasted to Fallout 3. I absolutely love that game, but Fallout 3 was way too detailed, complex and emersive, and to get anywhere in the game you have to play hours on end. Hopefully this game would be slightly more stream-lined. Never really played a survival game before Fallout, and that contains shooting. If this game is just about the finding stuff etc... then I think I might pass on it too.
JeNvEy
Im guessing the game will have fighting or shooting elements like rebels or something or people who have gone mentally crazy. I was also wondering if it would have something like out of I am legend with those crazy gentically mutated people but then again that i doubt will happen but i wouldnt be suprised if something like that was in the game. So far it looks like a promising game.
JOSEPH X
Screeeech...bump! Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot came out early last year, explaining that the game was being “totally re-engineered” at the publisher’s Shanghai studios, to use the same technology as Splinter Cell: Conviction. At the time, he explained that it would not arrive until “at least” April 2011. Looks like that might be the case. Ubisoft Toronto managing director, Jade Raymond, has come out and said that I Am Alive will be released in 2011… but before you break out the champagne and the streamers, she explains that the game will be a digital-only release and that the publisher “doesn’t have much faith” in the title. …this is a bit of a startling revelation from a traditionally AAA-publisher like Ubisoft, but it’s not too unbelievable. I Am Alive was originally due in March 2009, and has been very, very quiet since then. On the other hand, it would be an awesome piece of reverse psychology – “accidentally” leak (via a French website‘s videocast, no less) information that leads to intrepid gamers becomeing more and more interested in a soon-to-be cult classic? Smooth move. I Am Alive is due out some time this year for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, we’re not sure yet about PC. http://www.gamepron.com/news/2011/01/31/i-...-download-only/
