Mainland Marauder
do the 6 stars cheat Should we count the soldier challenge as completed because Blizzard used the 6 star cheat? I'm not jealous or anything, I only think that NO cheats should be used in completing the challenges. Anyway I'm gonna try that challenge without cheats. Generally I'd agree, but for the purpose of that specific challenge I don't see where it matters. There isn't any difference between six stars using the cheat and six stars obtained normally, is there? "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." flicko
do the 6 stars cheat Should we count the soldier challenge as completed because Blizzard used the 6 star cheat? I'm not jealous or anything, I only think that NO cheats should be used in completing the challenges. Anyway I'm gonna try that challenge without cheats. Since it is you who devised the challenge, you can choose whether or what Blizzard14 has done is allowed or not. Personally, I'd frown upon anybody who cheated attempting any of these challenges in order to gain an unfair advantage, and pass certain tasks easier than each challenge states. But enabling the six-star wanted level cheat, surely wouldn't make the particular challenge any easier on Blizzard14, since the soldiers will still be as menacing as they would if Blizzard14 worked his way up to six-stars without cheating. Unless enabling the cheat to receive a six-star wanted level somehow makes the soldiers and police force less aggresive towards you, has it really made the challenge any easier? dinamodanci1986
I have done the soldier challenge. I started blowing crap up, killing cops and shooting down helicopters with the minigun and eventually got 6 stars. A tank showed up and the soldier got out. I started mashing the left mouse button, and beat the soldier to death. But there were about 4-5 cops, and I had no armor, so they killed me about 2 seconds after killing the soldier. I'm ok with the 6 star cheat. I'd like to add a version of the challenge that requires losing the 6 stars afterwards (no cheats here).
Blizzard14
If you guys want, I can do the challenge all over again without the cheat. No problem for me, i know where to get 6 stars easily without cheating.
dinamodanci1986
It'll be nice, Blizzard. I think the 6star cheat does help you a little bit. You can get shot up on the way to 6 stars. I started with full armor and lost it all on the way to 6 stars.
Blizzard14
Allright, no problem. Ill see if I can do it today after I get home from school. Im running a little late now, so goodbye!
!!GC!!
Top job on completing the challenges in such a short period of time, !!GC!! Cheers, mate. I edited the NOE challenge with a more detailed explanation, because the small statement i had made wasn't suffice for me. Thanks for adding and updating Great job. lazy34
I'm closing in on the end of the game. I used a Hunter to conserve ammo in Grove 4 Life and I'll probably use it to take over territories for the 35% needed for End of the Line. In the mean time I have a coach waiting in the El Corona garage so I can take some extra homies for Los Desperados, although I don't think they'll be much help. Are the casino heist missions included in this challenge?
Mainland Marauder
The casino heist is an optional mission strand, so doing it for the storyline challenges is entirely optional. Don't recall offhand if you get any weapons for any of those missions. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." cacarla
A new challenge! -Start a brand new game, get to SF airport and take a picture with CJ on the NRG spawning there and finally, return to Ganton garage in any possible means of transport. I like that one, cacarla ... and maybe try to return to Los Santos with that same NRG-500 without getting Wasted or Busted; it can be done. !!GC!!
A new challenge! -Start a brand new game, get to SF airport and take a picture with CJ on the NRG spawning there and finally, return to Ganton garage in any possible means of transport. Done Good challenge, but it seemed a bit too easy. At the beginning of the game, i rode the bike to the NRG in ELS. After getting that, i sped 'round LS picking up weapons. 3 MP5's, 2 AK's, a sawn-off and some armour. Then, i headed to the airport, hopped into a Dodo and flew to the Panoptican. Then, a quick dart across to the SF airport and just as i was exiting, a locked on missile destroyed my future-planned escape vehicle and i lost a bit of my armour. I killed a few guys, hopped on the NRG, took a pic then drove around the corner. I Maverick'ed to the Panoptican where i was shot down. Grabbed a nearby Walton and continued on my journey. It took nearly an entire SA day to get back to grove street cos all my sh*tty country vehicles kept on grtting destroyed. Finally, i got to Ganton area in a Taxi, that got shot, so i tried to run the rest of the way. A handy cop bike, stopped beside me so i used that and went to the Johnson house where i took another pic. I also took a picture of the map to show the route, but i did a bit of off-roading in a sanchez i picked up. On the NRG Back in Ganton Map
cacarla
Well done GC but, i got some bad news for you. I actually didn't state the entire challenge. The actual one which i had and have in mind is: -Start a brand new game, get to SF airport in any vehicle without Armor and Weapons! Grab the NRG over there, take it for a ride and do what Zoom said in the above post- Now, that's a challenge. Sorry for not specifying it properly in the first place. You can forget the Maverick now, as the cops can get you busted before that chopper takes off. Special thanks to Zoom .
!!GC!!
Why the f*ck didn't you say the entire thing in the first place? How is that helpful at all? I can get back with the NRG, i've done it before, but i've shut down the PS2 now.
cacarla
I just forgot about the whole thing. You can do it once you restart your PS2..
Mainland Marauder
I'm just curious - how exactly do you get the NRG back to Los Santos/Red County if the roadblocks are still up? I've never had a problem getting busted trying to jack the Maverick with four stars. It's the Hydras once I'm in the air that give me trouble "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." GTA Phreak
You can drive a bike around the barriers on the bridge going to The Panopticon. It's fairly easy to do when coming from SF, a bit harder the other way. Another option is stunt jumping, for instance along the Flint County bridge (I find that pretty difficult though, at least if I have to save the bike too). That option is much easier coming from LS though. In fact one of my preferred methods is to pick up a bike in LS and take it to 4* SF by jumping across at the Flint intersection and return (often using the same bike) to LS via the Panopticon bridge. flicko
[...] God-damnit, man! GTA Phreak
Sorry 'bout that I still left out a few minor details though, - odds are that they'll still end up in the drink a few times before they get it right
Mainland Marauder
I still left out a few minor details though, - odds are that they'll still end up in the drink a few times before they get it right That and you've still got to get to that bridge with four stars. Easier said than done, especially early in the game when your bike skill is low and a stiff wind will knock you off the NRG. Like James, said, the challenge is still going to be very difficult to successfully complete with all other obstacles. I like to have the frame of mind that doesn't provide hints of any kind to anybody attempting challenges for this topic and my topic in the VC section, but each to their own! !!GC!!
That is how i do it. (Dont read if you do not want to know how to get to SF early in the game). I found out about the Panoptican Bridge myself. I can get across there really easily by going to the right of the barrier, but it is much harder getting back on the bike. On the way back, the first barrier you come to always pushes me off, i can walk around, by the bike it harder. I also use the jump that comes down from Rodeo area and there is a little ledge the flicks you over to the other side, next to where the train tracks come out. Mainland Marauder
OK, I think I've hit the wall. The mission "Mike Toreno." It's not that I can't figure out how to pass it. It's that my game is apparently glitched. When I enter the car with T-Bone, the game starts making a bunch of strange noise (sort of like a detuned AM radio) and no blip shows up for Toreno. I know you can go straight to the airport normally to find him, but I get nothing even when I go there. I read that this can happen by flying off the map, but I have never so much as entered an aircraft on this save. 123robot
Are you sure? You might of obtained your Pilot's License early. (Before Flying school.) The glitch can also happen because of this. Check one more time and if you don't, I've got no idea what the problem might be. I ended up having to start all over again because my game crashed when I tried to do Life's a Beach, so your not the only one.

Sorry, but that’s incorrect; getting a Pilots License prior to attending Pilot School does not create that glitch. I posted that on another topic as well. Mainland Marauder
He hasen't flew far off the map and he hasen't even entered an aircraft, so what could be the problem? Well, I've got good news. Don't know what was going on earlier, but I turned the game back on to give it another go and this time nothing's wrong Only thing that went bad is T-Bone shooting and blowing up a cop car that was too close to the limo while making the run for the Pay-N-Spray. Killed everyone. I resetted and went to do the mission again just to see if it stayed working. It did. Very strange. Anyway, the challenge lives on Thanks zoom and everyone for trying to help... Oh, and you don't need to actually go to the blips to make Mike appear at the airport, at least when no glitching is going on. You can just go straight there and the gates are open, and the signal bar appears. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." lazy34
Well, I finally did it. I finished the storyline using only weapons that the missions force on you. Mainly because Green Goo gives you the 2000 bullets you need to last through the final missions. Although bullets were abundant that didn't stop me from conserving. Aside from trying my best to get headshots, In You've Had Your Chips, I used cars from the nearby street to ram the machines. I used a Hunter to take over the territories (wasn't easy because they can shoot you down on the 2nd and 3rd waves if you aren't careful) I brought extra homies in Los Desperados, but they turned out to be useless so I ended up sending them home. However, I did manage to knife that annoying rocket launcher Vago http://i39.tinypic.com/2usda34.jpg In End of the Line I knocked Big Smoke down with a running LMB punch and stomped his ass until he died http://i40.tinypic.com/29wn0xj.jpg In End of the Line, the fire extinguishers are optional pick-ups so I had to make myself fireproof...
