As for the Beagle challenge, I have a few theories on how to do that:

1) Somehow the Beagle in Fort Carson can be dislodged from it’s location, but I doubt that.

2) The Beagle in Easter Bay Airport can be unlocked by using a Homie from Grove Street, since they’re not affected by locked doors… then shoot him while he’s inside that the aircraft, and hope that the door remains open when he falls out and dies.

3) Tow the Beagle to the Doherty garage and put it inside, thereby unlocking the doors, but I’m not sure that it would fit inside.

Also, the Maverick is the only aircraft inside Easter Bay Airport that has unlocked doors; the doors on all of the other aircraft there become unlocked after Pilot School.

Well I'll give you a hint (actually there's 2 hints): Image Do you think it would fit ?

There's still too many elements of luck involved in my strategy who needs to be solved before I fancy trying it with 4*'s though.

I have no idea how to utilize your idea #2, - but it sounds interesting.

Here's another option, which might be possible, but requires ridiculous amounts of luck.

4)Jack a AI controlled Beagle flying low over a hill

I have no idea how to utilize your idea #2, - but it sounds interesting.

I just tried it, and it doesn't seem to work. I recruited a Grove Street Family Member, and then headed to Easter Bay Airport... I tried opening the locked door on the Beagle, and the Homie just stood there doing nothing.

I got the idea form the mission Life’s a Beach… You can recruit a Grove Street Homie, and take him with you on the mission… then you can try and enter the locked van (the one Carl is suppose to steal in that mission). Carl won’t be able to open it, but the Homie will enter anyway because he can open locked doors, unlike Carl… but it doesn’t seem to work on any of the locked aircraft at Easter Bay Airport… the Homie just stands there while Carl tries to open the locked doors.

I got the idea from the Bulletproof Guide by System Error, and it does work in that mission, but I guess not everywhere else.

I completed zoom's challenge again, but this time semi-sucessfully retrieving the Bandito from SF and returning it to Grove St.

I began a new game, got some armour, no weapons, did a few Stunt Jumps (East Beach, Pal Creek Double, Dillimore, Blueberry double) then went to the Panoptican bridge. When i got to the other side, i was met by an Enforcer which i failed to get around and it nearly pushed me into the airport water. I lost my NRG, so i ran to the caravan site opposite and got a Sanchez. I rode that all the way to the Bandito, where i took a picture.

Then, i drove down south, all the way around Chiliad, through the backroads and came back out near Beacon Hill.

I jumped across the river*, dodged the ever-oncoming Enforcer (took another pic), then continued across LS to Grove St.

I was bashed up quite a bit by now, so i was happy to see the familiar street. There were no cops behind me, so i went to went to put my Bandito into the garage as i always do, when out of nowhere, a police cruiser accelerating at full velocity, and with no siren, slammed into me. My bashed up Bandito burst into flames. I paused and got my camera set up for a quick pic. I unpaused and snapped a few. Most were blurry, but i got one good one which i uploaded.

Again, i uploaded a picture of the map, just if anyone wants to see the route i took.

* On the picture of the map i took, i put the red marker on the spot where i jumped the river. It is a bit hard to pick out with all the red house markers, but it is there. What i did was line myself up facing north on the western side of the bridge that it there.

Across the other side is a beach which i had previously scoped out. The soil underneath stays shallow enough to drive into/out of for a few metres, so this is what i was aiming at.

Got a good runup down the hill and landed it about 80% in the water. Spinning my wheels, i slowly crawled out of the water and had successfully arrived on the LS side of the river.

Picking up the Bandito

After 'the' jump

On fire in Grove St

(this is why i said it was only semi-completed. In the other ones (NRG & Sandking) i was able to get them into the garage to 'save' them for fututre use, but i was able to 'save' this one. It blew up, along with CJ)

Map (red marker = jump location)

@flicko: You dont have to add this to the table, it was just a different way of completing zooms's challenge with a different vehicle. Im just doing this for the fun of it tounge2.gif

2. Can you maneuvr a Hydra into the San Fierro impound garages and park it where the impounded cars usually spawn?

Yep, you can. And....done.

Quite easy, i might add. I just got a Hydra from the abandoned airstrip (this was in a 95% completed game) flew it there, landed it, went in the door, got 3 stars, grabbed a cop car, opened the garage door and parked the cop car there so it didn't close, changed the Hydra thrusters to horizontal and drove in like a car.

I was getting some damage so i got out and did some damage of my own, returned, took a few pictures and then continued into the spawning spot of impounded vehicles.

Dunno where the Maverick came from mercie_blink.gif

Wow, i have uploaded quite a few pictures today, and wow, i really am bored.

Great Stuff! icon14.gif

Where did you make the jump into the Los Santos area? Do you have a specific location on a map? I'd like to see the terrain, and how it was done... the picture is hard to determine.

Can you take over a gang territory using only the machine gun on a Rustler (after you start the war)?

Is that a challenge suggestion, mate?

Only if you deem it worthy enough tounge.gif

Cheers, mate.

Yeah, i uploaded 2 pictures. I used another save game, that is near completed, to take these pictures, though.

1st Picture: Here.

As i said before, it is hard/near impossible to land completely on the actual land, so you have to land half underwater, but it is possible, if you keep the wheels turning, to drive out. This is because there is rather shallow, sloped land underneath here.

2nd Picture: Here.

Just a pic off the map with the location circled.

Of course. It's been added, as well as yours radicell. Both look to be very chellenging, as well as entertaining. Thanks for the contributions.

And nice job again !!GC!!, I've added your Bandito retrieval and Hydra challenge completions into the table. icon14.gif

Cool deal… I had tried that spot too, but never had any success with it; I had always landed in the water, but not the shallow area near land, it was always in an area that was too deep…

I had given up at that spot, but now that I see that it can be done, I’ll try it again…. Thanks for that icon14.gif

I was reading about a challenge about a page or so back about retrieving the Bandit from San Fierro, and how the challenger (I actually think it was you Zoom) commented on how the speed of the vehicle was simply not enough. It may just be me being a cut below average, but what jump was it again? Could you point it out on a map or refer to one of your videos please? I'd love to give it a go myself, seems like something I'd be willing to do.

What I will do beforehand however is enable my cheat device and turn off any law enforcement influence to ensure I have minimal distractions and optimum performance needed to complete such a jump. If it's easy enough without the fuzz constantly ramming my rear-end, I'll give it a go.

sure thing...

Here's the link to my recent NRG-500 video... the jump that I was referring to comes at 04:44 (in the video); I was able to complete the jump with the NRG-500 though.

I'll try to upload a map image later today when I'm near my computer.

That's a cool idea, Masterkraft icon14.gif

Here's the map showing the jump-location (that I promised earlier):

user posted image

I updated this post on Friday, March 6:

I went back to the location on that map, and I tried the jump several more times with the Bandito... I was successful in landing on the Los Santos side of the waterway, but the Bandito would always spin it's tires and end up in the water because it couldn't make it up the incline. I think that that location is possible, but it requires a perfect landing that would allow the Bandito to drive properly on the inclined itself.

I also tried !!GameCH33TA!!'s jump location again and again, but still couldn't do it.

You need to aim yourself further to the left than your instincts tell you, for two reasons.

1. As you are accelerating down the hill on the SF side, the terrain drives you slightly to the right pushing you off your pre-determined course.

2. It seems as though you'll land far out into the water on the left, but then you take #1 into account and use it as an advantage and it'll pull you back slightly, then, the beach seabed under the water is shallow enough out to the left for you to keep on driving, slowly, out.

It had better not have been a one off for me, because that is the only time i completed it, i think.

I'll try it again on Monday, i think. Im busy till then.

Keep at it, though. I'd love for you to be able to complete it.

@flicko: Thanks mate, much appreciated. smile.gif

In the mission Pier 69, can you kill Ryder with only a bouquet of flowers?

Yes. I played through Pier 69 until me and Cesar shoot T-Bone. After that, I jumped into the sea and swam to the two boats (Ryder's and mine) and bumped his boat until it reached the shore near the Panopticon. Then I exited my boat and went to Ryder and about 6-9 hits killed him before he goes into the sea and drown.

My challenge:In the mission Pier 69, can you kill T-Bone Mendez with only your fists (No Brass Knuckles, moves or combos)?

I have a question about that, are you sure you only beat him with a bouquet of flowers?

I think not!

Here is proof.

You said you also stomped him, which should disqualify you from the challenge there, but even worse, you also said that he drowned himself, once again, getting disqualified from the challenge. It wasnt only by the flowers that you hurt him, but you stomped him, and the challenge states "...with only a bouquet of flowers?". And then again, you said he drowned himself. The challenge states, "...can you kill Ryder...".

I think he said he killed Ryder before he drowned

Sorry 'bout that. Im a little off today... dozingoff.gif

Should it still count as he completed it, because he said he stomped him. Stomps do take a fair amount of damage, compared to the bouquet.

How does a dead corpse walk into the water and then drown?

He challenge has not been completed, he stomped him. Plain and simple. It has to be only with the flowers.

And yes, stomping is prohibited for the means of the Bouquet of flowers challenge. I'm sorry frank_ktcv, but you're going to have to attempt the challenge again if you want to succeed.

I was wondering how many of you use the handbrake during the mission "Monster'? I'm pretty sure the 4WD property of the Monster truck makes it easier to make those sharp turns and eventually gain a few seconds instead of just using the normal brake. Can you get a time of under 3:50 by not using the handbrake at all?

I just thought about this coz I completed a SnP a few days back where I came within a second of equalling OrionSR's record of 3:43. But I never use the handbrake. Or is this challenge too easy?

------------------------------

Also, in the third last challenge (the one about the custom course without letting go of the accelerator), is it necessary to use a specific type of vehicle? I believe it'd be pretty easy if you grab a slow vehicle and never let go of the accelerator. The low speed of the vehicle will make it easier to make turns and not even crash too much.

Since I devised that challenge, I'd like to change it to using only bikes -- it'll be harder to "not leave your vehicle" and obviously high bike skill will help.

Does the Faggio count as a bike? It would make it easier to make turns because of the slow speed tounge.gif

@Girish: I think the monster handles the best when the handbrake isn't applied. It's because the 4WD system spins out when you're trying to make sharp turns with 4 tyres turning which is not the case when you turn with 2 tyres and the rear ones still have maximum traction over the surface. Maybe you can beat Orion's time by devising a new route or by doing some magical driving.. It's just that one try away wink.gif .

Actually, it depends on hard you hit the handbrake. The tap on the spacebar has to be just about perfect to get the perfect turn. That way, you can make the turn without letting go off of the accelerator. And that is why there's a popup in the left corner of the screen during the mission that advises the use of the handbrake.

Can you Complete LV Ringroad under 2:00 without damaging your Turismo? (Race can be started at LVA Freight Depot)

I kinda get frustrated doing that one because of the usual ped car pileups and the way the peds make those nasty lane changes really damage my car and ends up in flames.

The trick is to stay off the highway and drive on the concrete(?) adjoining to the road. That way, you only have to look out for cars making turns at intersections. I normally make it through without any damage but I'm not sure about the time.
