Here’s a new challenge:

While both San Fierro & Las Venturas are locked, go into one of those areas and bring back one or more of the following vehicles:

Turismo

Bullet

Sandking

or any ground-based vehicle that’s pretty much exclusive to those areas.

Things that you cannot do:

1) You cannot use the Vigilante trick to make them appear in Los Santos.

2) You cannot use the aircraft trick to make them appear in Los Santos either, meaning you get into an aircraft in Las Venturas and fly really high, and don’t come back closer to the ground until you’re in Los Santos, which causes cars from Las Venturas to appear in Los Santos, such as the Turismo and Bullet.

3) You cannot use the Mission Exploits to acquire these vehicles. You must have the standard 4-Star Wanted Level.

You must actually acquire the vehicle in that locked area, and bring it back to Los Santos without it being destroyed… it must be drivable enough so that you can “drive” it (not push it) to any of your safehouses that have a garage.

I have done this with both the Bullet and the Turismo, and I believe that OrionSR has successfully brought the Sandking back from The Desert.

San Fierro must be locked even if you’re only going to Las Venturas; that’ll limit the area that will not trigger a Wanted Level.

I think we already had a challenge like that some time ago.

I can't really remember the details, - but I still have this screenshot:

Wow… are you saying that you got the Ladder Truck (not the regular Fire Truck) across the Flint Intersection? That’s quite impressive; I can’t even figure out how that’s done. You've really stumped me on that.

How do you have just three stars being over there? Or did you lose one as you approached the bridge? I know that you can walk around just over the water in Flint County when it's locked without getting four stars, at least for a small area close to the bridge.

And zoom, I like the sound of that challenge. Cars are a lot harder to smuggle back into Los Santos when the roadblocks are up colgate.gif

Congratulations to lazy34 for completing the storyline challenge. Awesome. icon14.gif

Most definitely. GTA Phreak, there are a couple of challenges of distinct resemblance, but none of which are the same as this one, which certainly looks to be a great challenge. Thanks for the addition. smile.gif

I didn't drive or jump it across the Flint bridge, - it just happened to be the nearest barriers for the screenshot.

I utilized the "undrowning" glitch to drive it across the seabed landing it on Santa Maria beach

As for the 3*'s, either I was out of the vehicle in unrestricted territory or the Ladder truck doesn't count as an emergency vehicle (It's been a while so I can't remember)

Other interesting vehicles, which haven't been mentioned:

Plain color Monster

Bandito I think OrionSR managed to jump that one across

And with a bit of extra effort:

Bloodring Banger

Dune

They don't spawn in traffic or during vigilante, so the spawn tricks won't work for those.

Also various aircraft, - they are of course fairly easy to bring back to LS, but getting the Beagle is a challenge on it's own.

Okay, I've been trying a couple of attempts at the mission OG Loc while leaving the main man himself behind as I tail Freddy. I must say I thought this was a piece of piss after reading the specifications in this topic, and in the nitpicking topic James had posted a few years back.

It's far from a piece of piss.

It seems I get a radar discrepancy, and it can't make up it's mind on whether to show me OG Loc's location (because I've left him behind) or Jeffrey's (if I start to lose him). I'm not sure if it's just my save/game/console, whatever, but I'm determined. My skill's a little rusty as I've not played for a good while, but it's just a matter of remembering where the slippery little arse bandit goes.

Wow, awesome work mate! Quite an acheivement! One which definitely highlights your gaming ability. 'Grats. icon14.gif

Going to add it into the table right now.

biggrin.gif I had a lot of fun with this challenge. It was frustrating at times (especially if I forget to save), but overall it was an enjoyable experience.

But now I can't wait to stock up on M4 and minigun ammo and terrorize San Andreas.

It only makes it easier if you can keep up with Freddy. Remember that he always takes the same path, so if you recall it from a previous playthrough it helps. The advantage to leaving Loc is that you can lean forward with the bike, facilitating catching up to him and pumping your MP5 (preferably) into him. The one time I pulled this off I killed him while he was still on the freeway. Then Loc magically spawned underneath the freeway behind the betting shop. There's a topic I made around the same time as Nitpicking that detailed this. I forgot all the details of what went down because it was quite awhile ago.

For my challenge, I forgot to add that you cannot use the Mission Exploits to acquire these vehicles. You must have the standard 4-Star Wanted Level.

I added that to my original post.

If you look closely enough, you'll see that the he's east of the bridge, already back in Los Santos, not in Flint County, but you're right about that small area just west of the bridge that won't trigger a Wanted Level. smile.gif

Here’s pdescobar’s map:

lol, that's what I get when I stay up all night. tounge.gif I didn't click the picture, so in the smaller size I mistook the trees in the background for the buildings you would see from the Flint side.

And yes, there are challenges in which their originators should consider the mission exploits and whether you'd want them used or not.

Great challenge, zoom. And thanks for that map, well, thank you pdescobar for that map. It will prove very useful in the near future because i am really getting into this 4 star stuff, just ask rubregg biggrin.gif

Speaking of which, i completed cacarla's challenge....again.

Went over, retrieved the NRG, took it back across the bridge and had some fun in LS with the cops and roadblocks before delivering it to Grove St. Plus, i only fell off twice during the entire thing.

Yes sir.

zmoonchild's challenge completed.

I successfully retrieved the Sandking from Las Venturas and returned it to Grove St.

Starting the game, i went and got the NRG and then picked up some armour. Sorry if i wasn't allowed, but i didn't even need at afterall.

I drove it up and then over the barrier or Martin (?) bridge, but then fell into the water trying to get over the second one.

I ran up onto land, stole a Police Ranger and drove that to 'The Big Ear'. Two other Rangers was all that i had to contest with. When i got to the top, they pushed my off the side so i quickly bailed and somehow, CJ miraculously flew up the side of the sand dune. I ran the rest of the way to the 'King, hopped in and drove back to the Mako Span (?).

I had to battle off a few Enforcers, but then i leaped over and landed in Los Santos. Then followed the freeway along and down East Beach where they was a seriously enormous roadblock covering the 4 lanes, the median and the boardwalk. I slammed on the handbrake and went up to the right over the elevated road. Then, i was hit by a roadblock i didn't see and stumbled into the flood control drains and drove up the back of Grove St.

I didn't actually think i was going to be able to return with the Sandking so i didn't take any pictures while i was over there.

However, i did take a picture of the map, showing my route that i took. I hope that is enough.

icon14.gif

I'll have to the try the Bullet next. That'll be more challenging.

Great challenge though, zoom, and i suggest someone else give it a go. It is rather fun.

I was just surveying the list on the first page and I would like to make a number of questions regarding this particular challenge:

How long can you survive with a five star (minimum) wanted level with three Grove Street members with you, without them dying?

1. Is it required that you recruit the members before the Wanted Level, or after? I understand the former makes sense, and that the latter sounds all the more challenging, I was just wondering which it is.

2. Is it legal in this challenge to keep your gang members in a vehicle and drive like the Dickens? Because in the right car I imagine this challenge could be used to rack up quite the impressive time.

And good work !!GC!!, sounds like an enjoyable challenge.

Cool, glad you like it. icon14.gif

Even though it was a challenge that I suggested, I went ahead and got the Sandking back to Los Santos too… it was a lot easier than I thought.

Here’s how I did it:

And based on GTA Phreak’s suggestion, I also attempted to get the Bandito from San Fierro… as far as I know, that’s the only Bandito that’s available at the very beginning of the game… I was unable to do it.

I tired several times, but couldn’t make the eastbound jump from the Flint Intersection back into Los Santos, the Bandito is just not fast enough. Is there another way to get it back (aside from using the undersea glitch)? I thought I knew all the ways to get back, but maybe I'm just missing something.

I've tried tearing through each city starting from Area 69, but I always run into some kind of bad luck.

I managed to dig up the original discussion: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=280997&st=77

Well at least the part that's here on GTAF (I think it started earlier over at GameFAQs)

Nice video Zoom, - 1 correction though: The NRG is not the only bike that can make the jump, in fact I get better results with the FCR/PCJ:

user posted image Notice the stats

I even managed to do it with a HPV once, - but I think that was a fluke.

Anyway, here's a new challenge:

While still restricted to Los Santos, and without utilizing any mission exploits, obtain and bring a flyable Beagle back to Los Santos.

Beware that I haven't completed that in full myself, - but I'm convinced that it is possible.

It's a complicated task even without the 4*'s, so it's recommended to work out a strategy before attempting it with a 4* wanted level.

Maybe my memory's slipping again but I don't even recall where to find a flyable Beagle when the whole map is open. There's that one that spawns for whatever bizarre reason in Fort Carson, but it will catch fire and blow up as soon as you try to enter it.

There's one in the San Fierro airport, but as for the point it becomes available, I'm none to sure. I'll have to enable my cheat disc and have a good look round from a starting file to see if it spawns at all, without the pesky police as a distraction.

I thought everything at the SF airport was locked except for the Dodos, Shamal and Maverick until you completed pilot school, and that even getting the license early doesn't unlock them.

Oh bugger, I had completely forgotten about that! Haha, well, in that case it seems that even if the Beagle does spawn in SF airport at the very beginning, there's no way you're going to be able to get it back to Los Santos without pushing it.

Saaaaaay, that gives me a notion. Is there any challenges currently on the board that involve towing something from somewhere to somewhere? I thought maybe towing a Camper/Journey from the top of Mt. Chiliad to the bike rental shack at the bottom may fill a hole.

I'm not aware of any. Put the thinking cap on and come up with some tounge.gif The camper actually sounds like quite a challenge going downhill, especially with something heavy like a Camper.

Okay then, here's something:

Can you tow a trail of three tractors from the bottom of Mt. Chiliad to it's summit, without suffering from any disconnections or falls?

Maybe you need to work a bit on your strategy wink.gif

Just for the record: I don't consider a locked Beagle flyable.

And one miserably stuck in an impound isn't flyable either.

Okay, so now I have two challenges for you:

1. Can you tow a trail of three tractors from the bottom of Mt. Chiliad to it's summit, without suffering from any disconnections or falls?

2. Can you maneuvr a Hydra into the San Fierro impound garages and park it where the impounded cars usually spawn?

Is 2 even physically possible? I haven't yet attempted it, else I'd confirm it myself.

Thanks for that… I made the correction on the video. icon14.gif

As for the Beagle challenge, I have a few theories on how to do that:

1) Somehow the Beagle in Fort Carson can be dislodged from it’s location, but I doubt that.

2) The Beagle in Easter Bay Airport can be unlocked by using a Homie from Grove Street, since they’re not affected by locked doors… then shoot him while he’s inside that the aircraft, and hope that the door remains open when he falls out and dies.

3) Tow the Beagle to the Doherty garage and put it inside, thereby unlocking the doors, but I’m not sure that it would fit inside.

Also, the Maverick is the only aircraft inside Easter Bay Airport that has unlocked doors; the doors on all of the other aircraft there become unlocked after Pilot School.
