Patch 1.0.2.0

It may run fine for YOU, but certainly not for the vast majority of people on here who have their computer in specs and still have issues with the game, major issues at that. Saying that a patch shouldn't happen because YOU don't need it is inconsiderate and self-centered. If the game works great for you now, congratulations, you are in the vast minority. But give consideration to most of us having problems with the game who would BENEFIT from a patch. You're just being silly, otherwise.

In the famous words of Steve Jobs: "stick your Pentium up yer smelly bum"

Nowhere did I claim the patch shouldn't happen, Reading isn't your best quality either apparently. I just said that I want them to make it non mandatory, as in optional.

There is no need to be all touchy here. Relax.

You were the one getting all touchy hahaha, you're all worked up. Just tellin ya what works for you may not work for all.

Apparently consideration for others isn't YOUR best quality. In any event, hahah, I made you angry. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

I wouldn't normally make such a short post, but considering this topic has gone off the rails:

LOL.

I dont really need a patch now since upgrading from Xp 32 to Vista 64. But to be generous I hope they release it for those of you still on XP 32 or are having serious probs. smile.gif

Also if you have a look at this thread someone is complaining about their logitech dual shock controller not working and rockstar toronto states that his gamepad will be supported as soon as possible.

When it's done.

Saying this is similar if you are saying that I will quit smoking starting from Monday, but which monday, you dont know.

You are saying the patch when it is done, but when it is done? Nobody knows.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the patch everybody else.

i have read all this thread now and i see that its real men this is REal like it or not this is for REAL HOMIEESSSS!!!!!!! Just read this thread nicely and look at the proofs Presented thats true people a second patch coming!!!!!!!

The first link referenced as "proof" says this on the page:

"NOTE: This issue is fixed in Title Update 1.0.2.0, so please make sure to download and install this update, either via the LIVE service, or by following th following link:" (Bolded emphasis added)

That statement is clearly saying that this 1.0.2.0 update is already available at that link and people should download it. That's all present tense there. So it's either a misprint (of 1.0.2.0) or Rockstar did do a small update patch, to update just that particular problem. I go for the latter interpretation because that support issue was updated 1/18/2009, which is well after the first patch was released. So that seems like a small "title update" (as they call them) was released after the first "title update" (read: patch).

The second quoted "proof" item was last updated 12/15/2008 and doesn't really say all that much but certainly indicates they are working on a "fix" for some issues.

That second element is "proof" of nothing except stated intent. There's a world of difference bewteen what companies sometimes intend to do, what they say they intend to do, and what they actually end up doing. That being said, I don't think anyone would be too surprised if another patch was to make its way on the scene at some point, given the issues that many people have been having.

i agree with Jeff Nymans idea that the first "proof" is just a typo

downloading the patch confirms it is the original one, modified on 12/12/2008

[edit] in the thread i linked to in my last post, Kaspersky says the patch is due this month tounge.gif

Nah, it's not a typo, the patch link will stay the same throughout all the versions, it's just there for that user to have access when it is released.

so?

Heloooooo biggrin.gif there is nothing new, nor "proof", just same stuff being posted each 3 or 4 days by the same poster.

So? Seriously. So? From what I read in his links, it's more than obvious... 1.0.2.0 is on the way... They would not typo the version number...

An official announcement is the one and only proof about a second patch. That hasn´t happened yet, and I seriously doubt it will at this point (not talking about controller or memory leaks fixes, that´ll come for sure, but it should have been fixed out of the box).

Need a remind everyone that the same langauge regarding 'not currently supported' has been used about the PC version of Bully, which has yet to see a patch regarding controller, sound and memory leaks.

If anything said in this thread were evidence of a patch in the works, there would be no reason for Rockstar not to explicitly say so anyway. Because they haven't, it's unlikely that they ever will as it's now been more than a month and if they did announce a new patch it would be a first for them.

yawn.gifyawn.gifyawn.gifyawn.gifyawn.gifyawn.gif

look at what we hoped for in the 1st patch, look what a disapointment it was for most people dozingoff.gif

i would'nt hold your breath has to when if ever it will be released and that it will do anything major to your game, beside a lot of people including myself have finished it now so whats the point

R* may aswell get a patch ready for the next GTA title so when it is released we may have a working game for everybody! rolleyes.gif

This doesn't prove anything, but what Rockstar Toronto said does. If he really believes he can recreate all the problems by building all of our machines and tell us just that in the forums... well I'm sorry to say guys but they don't know why their own game is f*cked. You can't program like that, it will take a VERY long time to get a patch.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and you are a detriment to this community in almost every smart ass post you make. Go back to your desk in EA HQ.

... 1.0.2.0 is on the way... They would not typo the version number...

Well, actually, I've seen companies do mis-types on version and/or patch numbers all the time. I work in quality assurance for various such companies and this is one of the main things I catch as part of release notes.

But ... that said ... according to what I posted, that support site says 1.0.2.0 is already here. I agree that it might not be a typo since, as I said, the support ticket has a date of 01/18/2009 -- just a couple of days ago. But that same ticket says that 1.0.2.0 can be downloaded now. And the issue that the ticket is bringing up is one that came about after the first patch.

Again: the support ticket says: "This issue is fixed in Title Update 1.0.2.0, so please make sure to download and install this update, either via the LIVE service, or by following th following link:" (Again, I added the bold.) That's clearly telling people to go to that link and download 1.0.2.0 right now.

Technically Rockstar probably feels they don't have to announce every small patch because if users are using the Live service, they'll get these updates automatically. Or maybe they did announce this somewhere and I just missed it. Or maybe whomever wrote the response to the support ticket had no clue what they were talking about. I don't know -- I can only go on what I read.

Just got off the phone guys with the lead programmer thats been working on the patch. Nearlly ALL issues are fixed with sli support and they have implemented AA which is great news. Multiplayer dedicated server support with Punkbuster!!!! finally!. Game has been optimized to run on min spec pcs with 20-30 fps boost depending on your hardware.

Cant wait till feb! Patch weighs in around 178mb

Punkbuster would make this game worse. Punkbuster like kicks randomly and everytime you go into a server you have to turn your mods off / make your files legit. and that sounds like bs lol
