Equal Release or Extra Features

We waited like 8 months for GTAIV PC... was it worth it? We got better graphics, this much i can see, and the video editor, extended multiplayer and independence FM, But was it worth the wait. If we got the same features this time around with GTAV but had to wait say... another 2-4 months instead of 8 would it be worth it or would you want an exact clone release for all platforms on the same day?

 

Couldve made it a poll but i want honest opinions.

This is actually a question I asked myself a few times now.

 

I believe games should be published only after they have been completed and made ready for a release. R* bit more then they could swallow in this case (MOO) and had loads of problems to make the release. Wasn't it firstly scheduled for October of 2007? Then it got pushed back for 6 months and finally 8 months later we got it on PC.

 

It seems to me it was a lot of work and they weren't ready for it, obviously. I mean, not one platform can run it PROPERLY (without slowdowns and pop-up).

 

However, now the have the engine in a semi-working state, so we could assume that next GT will be out with less of these issues. Can we hope for a multi-platform release this time (including the PC)? I guess we'll know if and when they (R*) stop mentioning the PC as a gaming platform altogether.

I'm pretty sure GTA III ran a bit juddery too, as that was the 1st of the new engine. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

So just consider this the same situation, it's the 1st of the new engine, of course it isn't going to be perfect. Yeah, ok, it's pretty far from perfect. But hopefully they may patch it. *gasp* I said the dreaded P word.
