[Cleo3] Police Car Chase Mod

********************* CANCELLED SORRY NO MORE UPDATES ********************

********************* UPDATED 2/15/10 ********************

Get in Police Car (any)

Press the Number "4"

Follow enemy car (if there is more then 1 ped in that car be careful they will shoot at you)

Press 6 for backup (as many times you want)

Press 7 to call for Helicopter Support

Press (tried a couple times and had to hold it) 4 again, person gets out and tries to fight you if you hold the silenced gun to her / him (don’t shoot) they stand down

They will appear in your car so keep holding the gun to them (don’t shoot)

 

There are 4 drop-off points

One is the Pd of the beginning (the Pd of the city you start in)

The 2nd is at cranberry station (my police HQ in my game)

The 3rd is at Downtown PD (same city as 2nd)

The 4th is at Roca Escalante SAPD (look at pic)

Backup limit removed tounge.gif (bigger chases again) but now the backup cops don’t jump out you have to manually get them out by tugging on there door

More drop-off locations added (1)

Re-wrote how it gathers the criminals car (it did it the same way the it did for the cops car and that might be the reason for some crashing to desktop)

I changed the backup system again

Now there is a limit of 3 backup units

But now if the criminal jumps out (forced [car fire] or natural [pressed and held 4])

The pursuing officers also get out of there vehicles and fight the bad guy

And when the criminal is killed they jump back into there patrol cars and leave the area

Leaving you to clean up the mess LOL

 

Still Testing but is released, If you find any bugs let me know please

More Bugs found and fixed (hopefully the major crashing to desktop bug because of searching for the nearest police car)

Instead of it searching for the nearest police car it checks to see

What town you’re in (SF, LA, or VG) and then sends the appropriate

police car model to back you up. If you’re not in one of those towns

(i.e. The country side) the undercover police car comes to back you up.

More Bugs found and fixed

I had to scrap the feature that calls the nearest police car because

That is what was crashing the game (police cars are created through the exe I think and Every most of the time my script got one it would crash the game) but it still searches for one and when it finds one it duplicates that car and helps out (I know not realistic but hay that’s what it has to be I tested it like this and it works fine)

This is a small update only some bugs worked out (every time I find one, one more pops up)

Now if you are in front of the car facing the criminal and you hit 4 before it would be a different person driving the car (the way I scripted it) now it is that person

Now if the chase gets too far away it doesn’t crash to the desktop like it used to (well it used to on my end)

When I did the 3/14 Update I created a new bug that is now fixed.

(if you were in front of the criminals car when it just selected it the car would be facing a different direction...now fixed)

I got informed of a conflict with another mod called "Pimp My Car"

when you pressed the 5 to get any nearest police it would not work

if you had that mod installed so i changed it from number 5 to 6

WOW 2 in one day!

I got word of another bug that if you flipped the criminal’s car and

the criminal got out the script would not respond to it as if you never

pressed the 4 to make the criminal get out (which you didn’t It did it on

its own) so the script would still loop as if you were still chasing the

criminal but if you pressed 4 nothing would happen.

its impossible to kill the criminal ..... his car is invulnerable noob mod

Okay, can you make a mod in the same way with no invulnerabilities for the Criminals car? Yeah, criticism follows success, but why the f*ck did you call it a noob mod? After all, he's done a good job. Learn to appreciate.

 

I think it was made invulnerable to add more action to the mod, so that the chase lasts so long. Even the cop cars are invulnerable.

yeah sorry for saying noob mod man but its boring to follow a criminal that you know you cant catch and yes its a good mod..

This is an awesome code, a couple of small requests though.

 

1. Randomize the criminals cars, its kinda lame to chase the same ride all the time.

 

2. Randomize the Police, Its a little weird seeing LVPD rolling thru Los Santos.

 

3. Make a separate code so you can call more police units, so lets say you press 4 to get it it started, let the chase escalate. Then press another key and another cop joins the chase.

 

5. Turning off the wanted level while in a chase would be cool but there is a cheat for that so no biggie.

 

Its alot better than any code I could right, so keep up the good work.

All Thoes request are in my mind as well but will take more time to put in to the script as i am still learning how to script

 

as for the wanted level thingy i never knew i forgot to disable it as my main.scm has a max wanted level of 0 so thats a easy fix

Ive been playing with the code a bit, seeing if I can have more officers in pursuit to begin with.

ALso playing around to see if I can randomize the cops and criminals cars. If I make any breakthrus I will post it here.

This is the code, that I have been working on. Its basically your code with some more vehicles added. It works but the marker dose not terminate when the criminal is killed. But I think I can up it to three patrol cars no problem if I can fix the marker issue.

its impossible to kill the criminal ..... his car is invulnerable noob mod

There is a way to destroy the car.

Make the car flip by hitting him,then the car will burn and explode.

Hold 4 to exit car chase,go a little far from the car and hold 4 again for another chase(if it activates the car chase again cuz sometimes it doesnt).

get in Police Car (any)

press The Number "4"

follow enemy car

press 5 for backup (as meny as you want [wait a couple of secends tho to let the police to start moveing])

press (tried a couple times and had to hold it)4 again person gets out and tries to fight you if you hold a gun to her / him (dont shoot) they stand down

they will appear in your car so keep holding the gun to them (dont shoot)

 

there are 2 dropoff points

one is in the vid

the other is the pd of the bigining (the pd of the city you start in)

That sounds more like Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. It would be fun with the heli support especially the hunter (LOL).

The heli support i might be able to add but as for adding

tire spikes / road blocks i problely wont be able to, because i also noticed another mod that looks promising 'Vigilante Justice Mod' by Deji that has planes for thoes features..but i will look into it

But only one problem... It's not compatible with the "Pimp my car" mod and i don't even know if this mod works properly. I pressed 4, a car spawned behind me, and i accidently pressed 4 again and the guy simply got out of the car and tried to fight with me. i pressed 4 again to put him in my police car but it wouldn't work. I killed him, and now the game won't do missions or save because it still thinks i'm on the chase. when i press 5 it doesn't do anything. even after i removed the "pimp my car" mod it still doesn't do anything. I found some nearby police so i tried pressing again, and nothing. Can you give me a code to change the backup to 6 instead of 5?

When you hit 4 it is scripted to get someone in front, back, or on your left, or right. As for him getting out that is also scripted to do that but to arrest him you need to hold the gun to him so he would pop into your police car(this does take a while so keep holding the gun to him useually take him 3 times to put his hands up), if you do kill him it should of ended the mission and gave you 500 dollors, you saying you killed him when he was in the car or on the street. please explain so i can hunt down this bug.

Edit : Testing right now.... I think finally this mod will be air tight. I will try to do some more things with the enemy car to see what kind of bugs there are. But still, this mod is probably now air tight. Can't wait for the tire spikes and the road blockade!

 

Re-edit : I found ANOTHER bug. After when the suspect gets out of the car, and you hold the gun up to him and press 4, he sometimes goes into another police car. The suspect ends up in my car, but the officers in the car he got in thinks that the suspect was trying to steal the car. So the officers get out and suddenly take my suspect out and beats the crap out of him. I could have driven away, but i had at least four backup units cramped on the street and i couldn't drive away fast enough. Again, after the suspect died from the beating the game still thinks i'm on the car chase and all the icons disappear.
