Planng my trip across Europe

To cut a long story short;

3rd quarter this year I'm allowing myself £3-5000 to take myself from Belfast, Northern Ireland to the eastern blok countries for a month with my friends.

Once that month is up, I am continuing on my 3 month sabbatical with work with 2 months of travelling around europe.

Where do I start, go and end? (and most importantly, why?)

Cool man. If you decide to head down Dublin way, let me know! You'll have a great time travelling Europe!

I would recommend seeing these places, in whatever order...

• Manchester - Better than London, excellent nightlife. Avoid London, Glasgow and Liverpool.

• Edinburgh - Especially around the Edinburgh festival, truely wonderful city.

• Amsterdam - If you're in to cum squats or space cakes then this is your city, again... excellent nightlife.

• Ibiza - Amazing island, party capital of Europe.

• Greece - Won't specificy which city, because I've never been, I've heard good things about Crete though.

They're if you're in to getting pilled off your tits because they're all about fun.

I'd recommend you go to Serbia, honestly. It's reasonably cheap, the nightlife there is f*cking awesome, there's some really pretty scenery, and the people are surprisingly friendly, and most people speak English there. Also, it won't be very crowded 'cause not many Westerners go there. Plus, you really feel that "Eastern Bloc" vibe while you're there. smile.gif

I have no idea what order you should visit each place, but I'd recommend Malta, quality place to visit.

When I went, I visited "Popeye village" where the Popeye film was filmed, I also visited the Blue grotto, which is basically a sea journey to some open caves, and the water is so tranquil and clear, and bright purple jellyfish swam in massive numbers. Was pretty special. Oh, and swimming in it was the greatest feeling in the World. I Also visited the blue lagoon, which is basically a long section of the sea which is completely clear blue, was breathtaking.

Regarding nightlife, I'd definitely go to Ibiza again (put it this way, it was the best sex on the beach I've ever had!). the nightlife is something to look forward to, and the people are generally friendly. I also enjoyed Gran Canaria's nightlife, and the holiday as a whole offered a great experience. I don't know if you'd consider visiting all of the Canary Islands, since they're pretty close to Africa. I'd personally like to visit Portugal and Venice, Italy as well.

One place I wouldn't go to again is Bulgaria. The hotel we were in was fantastic, but that was the only good thing about the vacation. On the streets were beggars as young as three tugging at your leg asking for change, dancing bears, prostitutes/rent boys and the mafia. I went with my whole family, and one day most of us went to a water park, but my Aunties stayed at the hotel. When we got back they told us they heard a gunshot, and it turns out that a worker in the hotel beside us had been shot! There were also homeless people with cuts on their legs, and they were purposefully gnawing at the cut with knives to make the cut even worse. Sympathy vote anyone! Ridiculous holiday.

If you want to empty your wallet, go to London. Loads of touristy stuff, but some of it'll cost you a bundle. confused.gif

Personally, I'd say head to the landing beaches at Normandy (France). Just to say I've been there. There are loads of historic places across Europe I'd like to visit if only I had the time nowadays, alot being WWII based. I think some companies do organised trips of battlefields and such across parts of Europe.

Belgium is oddly great. Fantastic food and the best beer in the world. If you are used to pissy merkin water, you will have your head blown off.

Bits of Germany are good. If you can/do hire a car, take it around the Nurburgring. It's a fantastic experience.

Northern and Central Italy are brilliant, some of the best food and wine in the world. Tuscany is my favourite, particularly places like Florence and Sienna.

Scandinavian countries are brilliant, I've been to Norway and Finland before. Cold, very cold, but beautiful, with the best looking women on the planet. Booze is very expensive though.

Bulgaria, Poland and Austria are also good.

I'd say land in Amsterdam, maybe chill or hang in Amsterdam, and when you're ready, leave Amsterdam.

Oh yeah, can't forget Amsterdam - pretty much Amsterdam.

In the UK, I'd usually say London but I think you should choose Liverpool instead, it's just as violent and the nightlife's just as hot, but it's a lot cheaper. Anywhere else? Tel Aviv. ph34r.gif

Amsterdam is overrated and clichéd and there are other red light districts in the world.

Now, go have the time of your life while you still got it. colgate.gif

I'd visit Normandy, but that's just me. I hear Greece is wonderful, and I can say that Croatia is lovely (as long as you stick to the touristy places, the inner city ain't all that great).

The Greek islands are great, particularly Crete and Corfu, but everyone there drives as if they're watching the sky, rather than the road.

The nightlife in Liverpool is great, lots of clubs, pubs and bars in the city centre and the people you meet are generally nice. There are a fair few dickheads who only go to town to fight though so if you did come you would have to watch who is watching you.

Being honest i would avoid coming here and go somewhere thats not like 90% of all english cities.

Don't come to Copenhagen, though. I don't want you messing up my neighbourhood!

@dog_day_sunrise: This is why you pick Denmark over the other Scandinavian countries (btw, Finland is not part of Scandinavia, part of the Nordic countries), cause it is here Norwegians and Swedes travel to for cheap beer.

Though, admittedly, Germany is cheaper.

Don't come to Aberdeen, you'll get stabbed or something.

Edinburgh's alright, it's a bit plastic though. You can't find anywhere along the Royal Mile where you can't hear bagpipes for example. Glasgow is a bit more cosmopolitan, but again, there's the risk of getting stabbed, lol.

I think you should look at the Orkney islands if you can. Probably not though, they're rather remote. They're so exposed, the only trees there are ones planted around houses. They don't grow there naturally.

London is pretty interesting, but like everybody else said, overpriced.

The rest of Europe? Um, Paris is nice, definitely. The view from the Eiffel tower is amazing.

Southern France is nice too, like Provence. Yeah, I've only really been to France, been all over it though.

Amsterdam was good, but I'd like to go again sometime without my parents, now that I'm old enough.

Quite a few replies...

Well I'm still not sure where to start and end. I'll not really be choosing my starting point tbh, because a month of my 3 month stint will be with friends anyway.

Then they have to return to the real world devil.gif

I'm definitely putting Italy on my to do list. Just something about the place... When I think of Europe, no country could represent "Europe" better than Italy.

So far my confirmed list is;

Italy

Amsterdam

I really cannot decide where else to go to... I have nowhere else that I want to see lol

I feel like I need a reason or a dream to go to a place, otherwise it's not worth going there for.

Come to Croatia

Our beaches are the best

Unlike serbia which has no beaches (Stefan.)

and nightlife is better than serbia

And also, dont go to Greece, they will try to rape you coz they are all gay

Ooh and go to Macedonia, and the the part that Greece Stole

Its full of cool History lol

I went there 2 years ago

The Macedonians were really nice

And go to Ohrid!! Personally, it has a better beach than some in Croatia

But its your decision
