#5 NIKO'S FRIENDS

Yes, it's great at the start of the game the way Niko's friends contact him, introduce him to places, etc. It's a great way of showing you round the city, the way things work, introducing new characters etc. But as you progress through the game and know what you're doing, did nobody at Rockstar ever think, "hmm, this could get seriously irritating having all these people call Niko every f*cking five minutes to go babysit them on some tedious activity that you've done several dozen times before"?

Evidently not.

Put the phone into 'sleep' mode. That will solve the problems with getting interrupted, it's on the phone menu somewhere.

I agree with your point about the R* Social Club, a waste of time it is.

Some of your mission rants permeate the series as a whole, and not just GTA IV.

And yes it's not a particularly good port, despite what the fanboys at PC GAMER UK think.

My .2$

Tony.

Yeah and as soon as you complete a mission or do some police work or something the sleep mode switches off. It gets tedious having to put it back on all the time.

It gets switched back even if you're wasted/busted. Quite annoying.

@ Tony, no way in hell did the previous GTA's (VC and SA especially) have this dull missions. The only missions that were hard scripted were chases (as to force a typical conclusion of the mission) while the others gave you loads of free room.

Even after replaying for the forth or fifth time I found new and exhilarating ways to do something in SA. Stuff that tempted me to do it all over. Maybe it's too early to say, but I don't see this happening in 4. The most memorable moments happened as random events during chases and such. Nothing to do with the story nor the missions.

Amen someone should sticky this instead of useless fixes. I couldn't have put out a better bitching myself. Way to fail miserably rockstar.

It would be nice if the user could control how sensitive the police are both in issuing wanted lvls and how fast the wanted lvl increases. Unlike the other GTAs you get wanted just by shooting your gun here and get 2 stars just by making the cops chase you too long. It's realistic but kind of a fun-kill.

Also, good point about the friends. But what would have been cool would be if you could take them as backup/henchmen on missions to help out. Friends wouldn't be so bad if they actually did something other than "go play pool", etc.

The best fix would be to make stuff optional. That is, if you call THEM then you can go and get pissed of whatever. They should never EVER call you (besides for story related stuff).
