calebmurray141
Im not sure if this has been posted elsewhere (it most probably has been), but who thinks it would be good if GTA had a difficulty system? Something like easy, medium and hard where you could get killed easier (e.g. bullet to the head = dead), cars would get damaged easier (e.g. full on car crumple zones), would have realistic amounts of cash and weapons were much harder to get, basically realistic mode. Omnia sunt Communia
I like Grand Theft Auto the way it is. It has always had that pick-up-and-play feel. Adding difficultly levels would just hamper that notion. Everytime you load up/start a new game you would have to choose which difficultly to do. And nobody would ever get 100% because once they completed the story they'd just go back and do it on the next hardest difficultly. GTA IV already has measures in place to make sure the game isn't too difficult. If you keep failing the same mission, the game will make it easier for you. Vercetti27
That is interesting but with a difficulty rating people won't get better at the game, it will be too easy and saying you've completed GTA whatever won't be the same anymore.
Rhoda
GTA IV already has measures in place to make sure the game isn't too difficult. If you keep failing the same mission, the game will make it easier for you. I like the idea of the next installment adjusting to the way you play, sort of expanding on what IV does; either making it easier for you or harder depending on how fast you're progressing and/or how you choose to deal with missions. For example, the game may make the aiming system more complex to offer a challenge, or make vehicles ever harder to control in hazardous weather conditions. I'd see it as a "progressive difficulty mode", and would only work if you had the option to turn it on or off as you see fit. After all, I'd get slightly annoyed if my game got progressively harder and harder as I went on just because I may enjoy shooting or driving. Dingdongs
No. No difficulty system. This isn't saints row.
Rhoda
No. No difficulty system. This isn't saints row. Just curious, but how does the difficulty system in Saint's Row actually work? Is it something through the Options menu you can toggle with, or does it record your progress and skill level, then go from there?
The Stoneman
No no no no, just no. The ability to alter the difficulty in GTA would kill GTA,
Rhoda
No no no no, just no. The ability to alter the difficulty in GTA would kill GTA, Perhaps, but only if presented in a highly systematic "easy, medium or hard" selection. I wouldn't have a problem if the game was constantly trying to challenge me, seeing as I found IV a tad too easy at times.
Mainland Marauder
If there was a more challenging form of the game it'd be nice. This is really just an idea like any other, though. Closing this one and directing the OP to the pinned Ideas topic. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be."
